Chapter 0132
“Enough!” He snapped. “Just get the keys like you said. We’re done talking.”
He retreated into the cell and sank down to the wet, dirty floor.
The Luna stood quiet for a few long moments before she turned away and ascended the
stairs.

At some point while Avery was waiting for the keys, he decided that Nick was a little bit scary. But that didn’t mean he would run. He would never cower or bow to that one.
The whole thing was unfair. That male didn’t get to keep Sara just because he was an Alpha.
She wouldn’t choose him. Not after how he hurt her.
Damn it, the girl was just starting to open up to him before the son of bitch showed up.
But he had done something to her, Avery was sure. Or she did something with him.
He shook his head, telling himself to focus. The mission was to get Sara and go.
He would hear about her adventures here once they were safely back in Orphic. 1

The approaching footsteps interrupted his musings. Sensing the Luna, he rose. The sound of keys lifted his heart, making him give a deep exhale.
The guard stood up and bowed as she appeared.
Her shadow, Miss Toughness, came with her this time. Mae, or whatever she called herself. She dismissed the guard and followed him out as the Luna approached the gates with the keys.
Avery tried to hide his eagerness but couldn’t. As she unlocked the bars, she began to speak into his mind with her head bowed.
‘Rowan, I can’t say that if we turn back the clock I would choose you over my family. I couldn’t. I loved my mate even though ours was an arranged union. I love my two boys and my little girl so very dearly.‘ She sniffed.
‘But I had to make a choice.‘
“Could you stop talking please. Finish unlocking!” he snapped.
‘My affair with your father was a grave mistake,‘ she went on despite his request. ‘But I couldn’t take you with me back to my mating home. I am sorry.‘

Her eyes were glassy as she finished unlocking and held the gates open.
Avery hated the tightness in his chest. It didn’t matter how sorry she was or how bad she felt. He did not care.
‘I thought you should at least know that,‘ she added, stepping aside.
He refused to look at her as he walked past.
Go find Sara, he told himself.
Stomping up the crooked stairs, he rushed out of the underground prison and emerged in an expansive field of green grass. Different trees stood proudly at various points for shades.
A garden of flowers decorated the entire view in the distance.
An apple tree stood near it. Beyond the tree was Nick’s palace. The dignified mansion.
He called Sara his female, so that had to be where he was hiding her.
The moon was over ninety percent full, so Avery’s senses were getting better with each passing moment.
He could feel people moving about. Could hear laughter and voices all around. It occured to him that there were other houses and cottages bothering the vast property. 1
He really was inside the Forest Moon, wasn’t he? The place wasn’t just the Alpha’s house.
“Where the hell are you going? Stop!” The Luna called out.
Ignoring her, he kept walking towards the light grey giant building ahead.
“Did
you
hear the Luna? Stop right there!” Mae called out.
If Nick was around, he already felt him, so hiding was pointless.
“Rowan, please don’t go that way. Stop walking this minute!”
Soon, he reached the apple tree and was about to turn the corner when something hit him.
Not hit. It fell on top of him, tackling him to the ground.
Somewhat heavy, yet weirdly soft and smooth.
A female?
He fought to get free from the assailant. Her smaller frame was a disadvantage no matter how fast she seemed.

Within moments, he was on top of her, pinning both hands beside her head as she struggled beneath him.
When she paused her wriggling, Avery found himself staring into the clearest blue eyes. For some reason, he was remembering the first day he went swimming at the deep end of the lake.
He started to refocus when she attacked again with her head. Which would’ve collided with his nose if he hadn’t moved quickly.
He rose, glaring at her.
Definitely not a warrior. Just a brat of the pack, he thought.
She stood up and advanced for another attack.
“You’re new. Welcome to the Forest Moon, halfness. When the Luna says stop walking, you. stop. walking!”
She kept throwing hands as she spoke. He had to keep stepping back to dodge her small fists.
“That’s enough, Aylin,” the Luna spoke.
