Chapter 0130
As much as I wanted to do everything she wished, undoing the bond was out of the question.
Looking back it was still hard to see how we could’ve had any other relationship other than a contractual one.
The only other option was Jake’s advise. To protect her by never getting involved with her. Which meant rejecting her under the moonlight on the same night I felt the bond.
That too was out of the question back then.
A sound disrupted my thought. Noise from the distance near the half–blood’s cell.
That was something else to worry about. Her friend was my prisoner. How did I tell her that?
The fact that we were related was something the brave fool should’ve mentioned to her, but I bet he hadn’t. I was sure the male had known for a whole now that we were half–brothers.
Did that mean I had to be the one to tell her?
I still couldn’t accept what I’d learned. I had only one little sister. She was Lily Reign. Or Luna Chase like her mate’s people affectionately called her.
Richard had taken sergeant brave’s DNA to confirm the madness. It didn’t matter that my wolf recognized him long ago. He was someone I should hate, and because of that, I hadn’t dared dwell on how familiar he felt.
What would she think when she learned that the half–blood she tried to replace me with was in fact, my blood kin.
‘Did you get any visitor last night? Maybe early this morning?‘ She asked without looking at
- me.
Like she could hear my inner thoughts.
Of course, she called home. They would’ve told her that sergeant brave was missing. But why would she think he came here?
‘Not a visitor,‘ I replied. ‘A disturbance. He’s locked up somewhere near the forest.‘
She rose. “Is it who I think it is?”
“Maybe,” I replied lamely.
“Nick, tell me, please.”

‘He came here in the middle of the night, yelling a name that should never leave his lips in front of me. Do you know what that means around here?‘
“But you’ll let him go unharmed, right? He came because he was worried your mother would
hurt me.”
Alex left the couch now and began exploring my bedroom. I racked my brain, wondering how to reply to Sara’s comment.
I was not very sure if I wanted him in that hole now that I knew his identity.
There was noise and yelling near the cell again. The Luna’s voice was the loudest. I tried to ignore it and focus on Sara.
“I need to see him,” she pleaded.
“No! There’s no need for that.”
That she was worrying about him was more upsetting than the fact that he was nearby.
A reminder that she sought to walk away after what we shared last night.
How did I make her see that she’s all I wanted? That my family was all I needed.
The voices disrupted my thoughts again. I honed my senses to pick up the words being said.
“The Alpha has the key, Luna, I swear.”
“Well, get it from him this instant!” She yelled.
“You need to let me see him. Your warriors didn’t hurt him, did they?” Sara asked urgently.
“I need to go take care of a few things.”
“So what? I stay locked up here till you get back?”
“Of course not. You can move about the house now. I imagined you wouldn’t want to because of the past.
Your father’s garden is doing well. I make them tend to it everytime. You can go see it if you want. Although Lindsey will be close,” I told her.
The look in her eyes when I mentioned the garden was a delightful reward. It made me congratulate myself for caring for that tiny field of lotus and lavender.
“Now I really have to go take care of a few things,” I said. “I’ll see you two in a bit.”

As I came closer to the underground, I considered turning around and heading back but. decided against.
How I dreaded going near there to stand face to face with the female who bore me. Especially not in front of the half–blood who was my little brother.
It felt too strange. But I needed to see the guy. Sara was waiting. So was the pack and Reign’s Businesses.
Richard had joined me from the moment I came out of the mansion. He didn’t say a word as he followed close behind me.
As soon as I entered the staircase leading downstairs, the Luna directed her anger my way.
“I want the door unlocked this minute!”
I ignored her as flashes of my childhood played in my head.
Our lives had seemed as ordinary as other Alphas‘ households. She was always there. A devoted mother and mate. Everyone thought she did her duty well.
Yet a lot had been going on. I didn’t know what she endured from my dad, but to think he endured such betrayal all those times was depressing.
He waited years before going after the human to kill him. I wouldn’t have. I couldn’t.
“Where’s the keys, Nick?” She barked.
“What?” I asked nonchalantly.
“Get the damn keys and unlock the gates!”
‘Why? You hate to see your precious one locked up? You didn’t have any qualms abandoning him, though!‘
As I spoke into her mind, my eyes rested on the man–wolf. He was leaning against the dirty wall, regarding me with a blank stare.
