Chapter 0124
As she approached, Lindsey waited by the door.
Soon, she sat across from me and gave the guard a disapproving glare.
“I’m here on the Alpha’s direct orders, Luna,” Lindsey said.
“I went to fetch her myself for Goddess sake. What? Does he think I’ll eat her before he gets
back?”
Lindsey ignored the rhetorical question and remained by the door with her head bowed.
The Luna sighed, giving up on persuading her to leave. Her eyes darted about like she was looking for something. She strained her neck towards the closet briefly before refocusing on
- me.
“Tell me. Why didn’t you speak up? You had the divine right to complain when I put your things out,” she said.
I had no response to that, so I lowered myself to the chair and waited.
“I knew it. My son would not fall for someone like you if it were not ordained by the Fates. I mean I thought he wanted the sex and you offered yourself. You know. Like a cheap
commoner.
But after you left, I realized it was more than that. He was like… a corpse… for so long.”
She sighed, her eyes narrowing like she was deep in thought.
Why was she telling me this? What was happening here? Nick? Devastated after HE broke my heart?
The same male that offered me money to stay far away from him? I wanted to laugh. But there was nothing remotely funny about all this.
I glanced at Lindsey. She had her eyes ahead with a straight face.
The Luna gave another loud exhale before speaking again.
“If
you had said something, your life would’ve taken a better turn. You would be a proud member of this pack. Still an omega, but the Alpha’s own.
Do you know what great honor that is? If the Goddess willed it, you could even be his breeder.
Oh, she surely wills it. Look at the adorable pup you bore him? You should’ve said something and saved me so much work.”

My irritation rose. “His bree what? Don’t answer that. It doesn’t matter. I’m just waiting for him to come take me home.”
“Why? You’re worried about your dad? Sebastian would be fine, Sara. I’ll see to it. As for you, this is your home now! The little one will be here soon, too.”
She started to rise as she went on.
“Everything will be alright. Although, your Alpha will still have to choose a mate of course. But the pressure is greatly lessened now.‘
Could it be that Nick was making me stay in here so I didn’t run into her and listen to such drivel?
I sank back on the chair. There was no point wasting my breath.
“You need your meals for strength, Sara. If you don’t like that breakfast, you can tell them what you’d prefer to eat. Also, they’re fixing your chamber. Get comfortable, okay?”
Her words and manner were too much to process. My head was starting to ache from frowning so much.
I needed her gone. The half–smile on that evil face. The fact that she now used my actual name. These were downright jarring. Nick would come explain all of it soon.
“Luna Reign!” I called out.
“Please have them get me my purse. I need my things. I have to use my own phone,” I said.
She gave a short laugh, irritation quickly replacing the strangeness on her face.
“You want to call the agency? They can’t help you, dear child. This is our custom as Wolves. It’s out of their hands. They would stay out of it like they should have if Nick had just made that one phone call during that silly hearing!”
Instead of leaving, she headed towards the walk–in closet, asking,
“Now where the hell did he keep the keys to the underground?”
