Chapter 0114
“You’re out of your mind. I’m not going anywhere with you!” The girl snapped.
“What the hell is all of this about? You kicked us out. And Nick said he would follow the verdict!” She was ranting as she dabbed her cleavage with the kerchief.
What a sight! She was not herself at all.
“Max will get the note to her father right away,” Lorenzo said. Then he crossed to the street to his car.
“Mae,” Elise called out.
As her guard approached, she let herself exhale, basking in relief. It had been many moons since she felt this way.
Her son no longer owed the pack a legitimate heir. That beautiful little boy was not a bastard, after all. He was a hundred and one percent lawful. A child born of a fated bond. Her work was greatly lessened now.
“Miss James, I do not wish to use force. Just get into the car quietly so we can leave. We’re taking you where you need to be. You belong to the house of Reign. The Alpha’s own pleasure handmaiden.”
That triggered her wrath.
“Pleasure what? You all need to stay the hell away from me, you sick people! You sent that flower, didn’t you? You did this to me?”
She didn’t wait for a response but attempted to force her way past the Luna. But stopped her, grabbing her arm.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch, get away from me!”
The girl screamed, struggling, swinging her hands and purse till she struck her on the jaw.
Elise considered returning the favor, but she doubted the bruise would heal before they got to Forest Moon.
The Chief looked like he wanted to intervene but was petrified of touching the girl, so he stood rigid, waiting.
“Why did you have to make this difficult?” Elise mumbled.
Mae was still hesitant but skillful as he placed the cloth over her mouth. She held her firmly,

speaking in a mockingly soft tone.
“Be still. This should help. We’re taking you to the Alpha. He’ll take care of that heat between your legs.”
The fight slowly left the girl and she soon relaxed with her lids falling shut.
As she was taken into the car, Elise’s eyes moved about the site. Thank Goddess it was
deserted.

Nick POV
2:45 PM. I had sorted out the most important things for the day. But not the most important thing in my life. It was too early to leave for the small town.
If I arrived in the evening, I would go looking for Sara and there was no telling what would happen this time if I found her with Sergeant Brave again.
It was better if I left the city in the middle of the night. No matter how she spent the day, Sara didn’t stay out till midnight.
I sat in my study, pondering on the whole day and what the coming days held. Jake was right. Chief Alaric would know the sergeant’s parents. Maybe that’s why he was in on my mother’s plan.
But so would Jeremy, Sara’s boss.
I was still here in the city, so I decided it was better to see the former before flying out. Alaric might be too shy to talk to Richard and his men, but not to me.
Tomorrow, I would pay Mr. Colt a friendly visit.
I stood up, grabbed my coat and head out.
Ten minutes later, I learned that the chief was not in the city.
“He left with the Luna on the jet,” his assistant said.
“With the Luna, you say?”
That was bad combo. They couldn’t be up to any good.
I was reaching for my phone when Richard’s call came in. I stood staring at the screen in horror.
The news wouldn’t be good if my mother and the Chief left the city together.

With a shaky thumb and heart in my throat, I slid the answer button.
“Alpha, Sara has been poisoned.”
My heart slumped into my stomach. I felt my soul leaving my body as Richard continued to speak.
“Someone sent her a flower. We’re still looking into who. But your mother and the chief are bringing her to the mansion as we speak! You stay put till they get there. I’m coming!”
“Who did it?”
Oh, but I had a pretty good idea. They were three.
Elise, the Chief, and Megan.
“We’ll find out soon,” my gamma replied.
“First, detain all three of them ASAP!” I growled.
