Chapter 0112
“You don’t look well, Sara. I mean you look… kinda weird,” she remarked.
I felt very weird. I needed to sit down. Between my thighs was a throbbing that I was once so used to. A feeling I had almost forgotten about. Until last night, that is.
I was wet and warm in the most appropriate part of my body.
“Isn’t it hot today?” I asked Mia casually.
“Nope. It’s 12 degrees. You’re not okay.”
That was too true.
“I’m alright,” I mumbled.
Images of my former days filled my mind. Thoughts of a time before I became a mother.
More accurately, these were images of the very day Alex was conceived.
“You go ahead. Tell
ahead. Tell my dad I had to go to the office. Maybe I’ll rush home first to… do something,” I said to Mia.
Following the flashbacks, the episode with Nick last night began to replay in my head. Not the actual event but the dreams I had afterwards. How he marked me. The things he did to me on that bed in his penthouse.
I touched my neck, wondering if I was going crazy. The flashbacks were vivid.
The laborers and their supervisors started to head towards the truck. Mr. Duncan followed them, calling out for Meg.
“I’ll be right there,” she called back with her eyes on me.
I couldn’t mind her because of what was going on in my body. As I proceeded to my car, I decided home was where I needed to be immediately.
The dull, pleasurable ache between my legs was growing intense by the second.
‘Why is this happening to me?‘
When I glanced at Lorenzo, he was watching me with a frown. He must’ve said something to his partner who got out of the car to cross the street.
I stood in front of my car, fumbling in my purse for the key. My irritation rose when I couldn’t reach it soon enough. Turning the purse upside down, I emptied it on top of the hood and

snatched the key from among my things.
The sweats on my forehead trickled down my brows. My breasts felt like they would leap out of my blouse and take matters into their own hands if I kept ignoring them.
When my phone rang, I wanted to ignore it. But as I saw Avery’s name, so many ideas filled my head of what I could do to him.
He was probably calling to check on me again because of that mystery rose.
That’s it!
Yes! That flower was the problem! I sniffed it.
They must’ve put something in it. Goddess damn it. But who could be responsible? What could they possibly gain from making me so painfully horny?
“Hey,” I greeted Avery.
What would he do or say if I suddenly asked him for sex? We’d gone on what, three dates, haven’t we?
“Are you alright? Listen, Avoid Elise! She has lost her mind. One minute, she wants you gone, the next…”
I tuned him off to focus on the car that had just pulled over in front of mine. Too close.
“Okay,” I muttered absently. “Did something happen? I’d like to see you. You’re not working today, right?”
“Great thinking! I’ll wait for you at the intersection close to Molly’s,” he replied.
This male was safer for me. At this rate, Goddess forbid, my body would push me to go looking for the Alpha. Or call and beg him to come claim me this instant. After all, he was all I’d thought about since the feeling struck.
“Miss, are you okay?” Max, Lorenzo’s partner, stood a few feet away.
I didn’t reply because the Luna had gotten out of the car.
“It will be!” She said gently.
An older male emerged from the other door, his eyes on me. It looked like he was assessing
- me.
Max gave a respectful bow and stepped aside as the two approached.
Clearly, the man was an elder of the pack. The Chief, no doubt. He wore Forest Moon’s

chieftaincy badge on his chest.
What now? I wondered.
Oddly, I was not afraid or threatened. Instead, what I felt was embarrassment as the Luna regarded me.
And hope.
Maybe they had come to take me to Nick.
I glanced at Lorenzo and he’d started to cross the street hastily.
“Sara James.”
My heart lurched when the Luna called my actual name. Why the hell did she just call my
name?
“The one to whom my heart and soul is bound. That is you, right?” Her tone was gentle and so
confusing.
She waited for a reply. When none came, she went on.
“Of course, it is. It has to be. He couldn’t have been referring to anyone else. You two are fated? It all makes perfect sense now.”
Her eyes held realization and acceptance.
I couldn’t make sense of her words except the part about fate. Another insistent throb hit below my waist, and my hand tightened on my purse. I couldn’t keep from pressing my thighs together.
“We’re here to take you home, she–wolf,” the Chief announced calmly. “Everything will be okay
now.”
