Chapter 0102
Nick POV
As my mother advanced, Cassie looked like she would cower. But she maintained her poise with her head lowered.
Controling her breathing had grown difficult now. Her chest rose and fell involuntarily.
“Tell her what I mean, Miss White, why don’t you?”
“I–I’m not shh–sure, Alpha,” she stuttered.
“Oh yes, you are! Say it!” I slammed my fist on the table.
The Luna stood a foot away, brow furrowed, fists clenched as she waited.
Cassie was guilty. I was dead certain that she was the criminal. Her calm and fake innocence didn’t fool me. We had her phone now. Richard and his team would get proof soon. But I was
impatient.
A buzzing sound momentarily broke the tension around us. Lindsey looked at me from the stairs, and I knew it was the phone she had just stolen from Cassie.
“Unsaved number, Alpha,” she informed me. Then, lifting the phone so Cassie could see, she said, “Oh, I borrowed your phone. Would give it back once I’m through!”
“Well, give it back now so she can take her call,” I ordered with my eyes on Cassie’s.
“When she’s through, it’ll be my turn to borrow it!” Or Lindsey will steal it again if that call didn’t give me what I want.
“Talk to your caller, Cassandra,” I commanded.
Lindsey set the phone on the table in front of her.
All calm and self–control vanished from her face as she stared it in horror. She looked truly
terrified.
I leaned forward and slid the answer button. A voice immediately started to speak.
“Hey, Miss,”
“H–hey,” she hiccupped.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay? Anyway. The operation was a burst, Miss! I have reasons to believe that none survived. Can’t reach any one of those azz–wipes.”

Cassie gave another hiccup, but the caller didn’t notice. He went on,
“I guess they got what they deserved cuz I think they was about to be shady. I only found blood and pieces of stinking flesh. Oh and the Alpha’s fading scent.
Hello? Are you there, Miss?”
Another hiccup. Meanwhile, my stomach was turning from the rage.
“Are you there?”
“Mhmm!” Her eyes were wide with terror now. She looked as pale as a soulless demon.
“The whore and bastard are safe and sound. They’re about in the town! I’ll need you to wire some cash for expenses. Can you do that today?”
I reached out to tap the end button and she jumped.
“You attacked the pup?” The Luna’s voice was a breathless whisper.
I knew that tone. It was like ice and fire at the same time. Lindsey felt the swelter of her fury and stepped away, taking the phone with her.
“Luna-”
Cassie couldn’t begin to say what she meant to. Her plea was immediately cut off by my
mother fist.
“You attacked the pup?” she repeated.
A fist with claws peeking out accompanied the question this time.
At least, a Reign was doing this honor. Lindsey set to work to ensure no one in the restaurant could see the action, let alone take pictures.
“You attacked the pup? My grandchild?”
The Luna lifted a chair, slamming it at the girl. The flimsy piece of wood came apart, flying in different directions.
Cassie was on the floor now, her eyes a golden yellow. Her claws pushed out of her fingers. The instinct to defend herself had kicked in.
“Well, get up then!” My mother urged. Her tone would’ve given me chills if I were on the receiving end.
Cassie did tried to comply with the request, but the Luna must’ve changed her mind. Another

blow to her throat sent her back down.
“You attacked the child? My pup!” The Luna’s eyes were the color of blazing fire as she rained
the next blow.
Blood now dripped from Cassie’s neck, face and mouth.
I leaned back in my chair, feeling extremely pleased with my mother at that moment. I was still mad at her but couldn’t help the feeling.
As a decent werewolf, I should be putting a stop to the fun. The warriors should handle Cassie, not the Luna. Lindsey would be more than happy to. But it felt too good to watch this she–wolf feel pain. To see her bleed.
I nearly lost my family because of her. That was unforgivable.
A door opened downstairs, and seconds later, two warriors were bounding up the stairs to meet us. One of them was Mae. My mother’s personal guard. As she rushed towards her Luna, I rose from my seat, gesturing for her to wait.
