Church had us strategizing all morning and into the afternoon, and we were still going at it as
it closed in on dinner. Mom, aunt Cassie and aunt Rachel made us lunch. Flip, for his skinny a*s, devoured three sandwiches. I don’t know where he puts it all.
We were all worried about Flip, Cueball and Pit. Yes, they were great fighters. All three have
joined the club fights at parties or money fights we all still sometimes participate in for money and reputation. I haven’t had a fight for months, and I was thinking about joining one to
loosen up and brush off some cobwebs.
The consensus was that Crush, Twist, Shooter and Demon would train with them four times a
week for three hours a day and increase the days and hours the closer we got to leaving. The
three of them were actually excited. Crush and Twist were the best at knife fighting, so they
would train them on that, while Shooter and Demon would do hand to hand. We all also
decided to put in extra training ourselves. I told Ice I’d hire a trainer to help me out during the
week. I was going to train five days a week, every night. I wanted to make sure I was coming
home. I had my woman and two babies relying on me. Well, three with Kong.
We went over some club business. We bought the motel where we picked up the women we
rescued. We decided to make it a safe haven for runaways and those needing saving. We
hired the front desk guy to keep us informed of anyone looking for help. But to also keep it as
a regular motel for those looking for a night’s stay. He was to inform us of any nefarious dealings also. We hired four maids to clean the motel and a crew was going to upgrade all the doors and windows and the rooms themselves for better resting conditions. We decided to
name it LOC Haven.
“So we all know this challenge is rank on rank. We fight our respective ranks and then, once you kill your guy, you can help others. I’m telling you now. Only help if our man needs it. If he is holding his own, then you let them go at it. I don’t want this fight to go on for hours. This isn’t a pissing contest, we aren’t there to show how much our d*cks are bigger than theirs.”
“Demon would win that contest anyway,” Crush said.
It was exactly what the room needed. The laughter let some of the stress out of us.
“That’s true. But I mean it. Get your kill done fast. Now, with that being said, don’t jump in on my fight unless it looks like I am going down. I promise you I won’t. But if I do, then feel free to take out the president. I need this fight. I am working through some sh*t, and I am telling

you all this now. I know you have all had some misgivings about me. I am sorry. I am better now, but I still have to work through some personal sh*t. Now, when we win, the first round is on me, and we will be celebrating at a strip club, so those of you with Old Lady’s and girlfriends better let them know. I’d hate for you to lose your balls.”
Chuckles went around the room. A knock on the door and uncle Doc poked his head in.
“Dinner in ten. Your mother’s said wrap it the f*ck up. Oh, and Amberlynn gave birth to a little girl. Her husband just called.”
Cheers went up around the room. Amberlynn married a military man, and they lived in North
Carolina.
“Alright, training for everyone begins on Monday. Money, I have someone I can recommend
for your training.”
I nodded.
Ice banged his fist on the table and we dispersed. I needed to see my girl. I hadn’t seen her
all day. I looked in the kitchen. No one had seen her for a couple of hours. I searched
outside, went to aunt Lia’s old painting studio, looked in at the new party room which was
coming along awesomely. I went to our room and that is where I found Kong whining and
scratching at the bathroom. I took steps towards him when I heard it. Retching. And it
sounded like it was terrible.
“Baby? Is everything alright?” I closed my eyes, that was an i***t question.
“No,” she said, before throwing up again.
I reached down to the door knob and turned it.
“STAY OUT!” she screamed.
“Not happening,” I said, as I barged in.
“No, you don’t need to see me like this, it isn’t very s*xy,” she whined before throwing up again.
I sighed, and held her hair for her. She dropped her arm since she was holding her hair to
brace herself better over the toilet.
I rubbed her back and blew on her neck.
“Baby, everything you do is s*xy.” She scoffed at that.
“I was taking a nap and when I woke up this God awful nausea rolled through me and I barely made it in here. I had to shut the door because Kong kept coming in here and trying to lick my

face.”
I chuckled, she gagged but nothing came out. I stood up and got a washcloth and wet it. I
folded it and laid it on the back of her neck. She dry heaved a couple of times, but when
nothing came up she finally got to her feet. She swayed and I caught her. I helped her to the
sink. She brushed her teeth and then swished some mouthwash. I picked her up when she
was done and took her back to the bed. I laid down with her and rubbed her tummy.
“I guess your sickness has finally started, huh?”
“Yeah, I read that it usually starts around the six–week mark. But I thought it was only supposed to happen in the morning.”
I chuckled. “Maybe for some. Looks like you have the anytime sickness.”
She giggled and then slapped my arm.
“It sucks.”
“Do you think you can get some food in you? It’s dinner time.”
“I can try. I am thirsty.”
I got off the bed and picked her up. Kong followed us and I brought her to the dining table.
“Oh, honey, you look so pale. Here, have some soup, it’s light.” Tawny said.
Dinner was grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. It was one of my
favorites. There were also french dips, which was Papa B’s favorite, and chili, which was
Uncle Ripper and Uncle Dozer’s favorite. It looked like no one could vote on one meal, so they
decided to make many. It happens a lot on the weekends.
“Thanks, I had a little wake–up sickness. I’d call it morning sickness, but it isn’t morning.”
“It’s most likely because you’re having multiples. It was like that with me and the triplets.
“Same here, me with both sets of twins,” Aunt Lia said.
I got my girl some crackers, and she smiled at me gratefully.
We were all eating when the clubhouse doors opened, and we all turned. There was astonished silencé and then the room erupted with enthusiastic cries.
“LYLA!” Resa screamed. She was the first up and running. She slammed into her big sister’s arms. They were only twenty months apart. Lyla had aunt Cassie’s black hair and emerald eyes. She looked exactly like aunt Cassie did when she was Lyla’s age. She was taller than Resa at five–nine. She was slim and sleek. She was pure cut muscle without an ounce of fat

on her. She was a death machine the way she was raised and trained and the only one to join
the assassin elite for the Underground. She was rarely home. So for her to be here now there
was a reason.
Ice got up from his seat and walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her and
whispered in her ear. She nodded and then she kissed his cheek. Her eyes snapped to mine,
and we nodded at each other. Lyla wasn’t close to anyone but her siblings. She was always quiet growing up and something was different about her. She never showed emotion. From a young child she had a death stare, and she observed everything and everyone around her. Papa Roberto called her ‘piccolo assassino‘, which meant little killer.
Ice grabbed her hand and brought her to the table. Aunt Cassie and Uncle Ripper stood and hugged her. I watched as she closed her eyes and melted into Uncle Ripper’s arms. Then she snapped them open and stepped away.
She sat next to me and stared at me.
“Money,” she said, in a very quiet voice.
“Hey. I’d like you to meet my girl. Baby, this is my cousin Lyla. Ly this is my Sweet Girl
Samantha.”
“Hello Lyla,” Samantha said. She gave Lyla a sweet smile. Lyla gifted her with a rare small
smile.
“I heard you are having twins. Congratulations,” Lyla said.
“Thank you. I am so happy Dashawn chose me to love and gifted me with these two,” she
said, patting her tummy.
“I didn’t choose you, baby. You ensnared me with your charm and beauty. I didn’t have a
chance.”
She giggled, and I saw Lyla give her a rare genuine smile.
“I like her,” Lyla said.
“Thanks. So, what brings you home?”
“Ice said the club was going to issue a challenge and asked if I would come and train the
guys. Except now, he just asked me to train with you. I’ve decided to do both. I’ve been in town
and will be for a while. I am taking a small break.”
“It’ll be good to spend some time together. We’ve all missed you.”
She gave me a closed–mouthed smile.

Dinner continued, and Samantha started to fall asleep and lean heavily against me.
“Shawn, she’s going to fall asleep in her food. Take her to bed,” my dad said. I nodded and shoved the last of my sandwich in my mouth. Kong jumped up when I stood. I picked Samantha up and cradled her in my arms. She was out in minutes. I laid her down and went
to the bathroom to do my night routine.
I gathered her into my arms and put my hand on her belly. I rubbed it and sighed with happiness. Thinking about Lyla, I winced a little. She was going to put me through the paces. She was our best female fighter, however, I had an inkling she could probably take out Demon. I was in for a world of hurt for the next couple of months.
