Mom found the video of the surveillance at the mall. We both watched it. Her chuckling at
the way Samantha handed Heather her a*s. I was really impressed. Money was a lucky
mother f*cker to have a woman like her. Someone loyal and that would fight for their
relationship. A beautiful brown–eyed brunette popped into my head but I quickly squashed the
image. That girl was not for me.
Alabama Martinez was innocent, unlike her b*tch of a friend, Heather. Actually, I wasn’t sure
they were still friends. She hasn’t been around since she caught me getting a blow job by a
club wh*re. I never liked Ally at the club. I didn’t like the way my club brothers looked at her.
She was sweet and kind. I don’t know how she and Heather ever became friends in the first
place. Of course, she was also friends with Dashawn, Cia, Kimber, Shooter and Helena, but
she mostly hung out with Heather.
After Trisha tore out my heart, I promised myself never to fall for another woman again. I
would never trust anyone female outside my family. But when I was twenty, I met Ally and,
though it was a bummer she was so young, I’d date her for a couple of weeks before I got tired
of her. But then, by the time she was of age, I was f*cking another girl at the time. And
despite being the a*shole that I am, I am a one woman at a time man. She and I just never
got the chance to see if we could have a little fun. One of us was always with someone else.
Not that she’d give me the time of day now.
I had mom email the video to me, so I could send it to Money. I swear, he’s a lucky SOB. He’s
going to be pissed when he sees her. That split lip will make him lose it. I know it would make
me lose it if I saw my woman hurt.
Mom left my office and I decided to do some paperwork while I waited for the rescues to get here. We needed to set these women up with new IDs if they needed them. I also needed to
get Heather’s termination paper ready. She knew the rules. You don’t mess with Old Lady’s.
The club wh*res were turning out to be nothing but trouble. Two of them tried to trap a couple of brothers with false pregnancies. And one picked a fight with another over a brother
claiming that he was her man. The brother just laughed and told her he was f*cking both of
them, as was his right, since they were club wh*res. I was tired of the drama. Next Church, which will be right before New Years, I think I am going to tell them they will have to go. With our alliances coming for the New Year’s Eve party, there will be plenty of willing p*ssy. And we’ll send out some invites to ‘friends with benefits‘. We all had them.

A few hours later a knock sounded on my office door. I called out for the person to enter and
Joker walked in.
I eyed him as he eyed me.
“Brother?” I said.
“Am I?”
“You know you will always be my brother,” I said, standing and walking to him. I went to move
in for a hug and he decked me. I fell, he leaned over me, grabbed my shirt and hit me two
more times.
“That’s for trying to destroy my relationship with Michelle. I waited for you to reach out, or to talk to me when I visited, and you never did. Now, I sense a change in you, a good one, so I thought I’d come and bury the beef.”
“By decking me?”
“You f*cking deserve it and you know it! You almost made me lose my girl Ice! She had given up on me. She was only going to give me visitation rights to see my daughter.”
“I’m sorry,” I said, getting up. “I’m so f*cking sorry, Hunter. I was jealous of your love. I was pissed you wanted to leave. You’re my best friend! I didn’t want to lose you.”
“Yet you were willing to destroy the only thing that mattered to me? I love you, brother, but I would have gladly never talked to you again for what you did.”
“I know. I don’t know what I could possibly do or say to let you know how sorry I am.”
“Go out there and make it up to my woman.”
“You want me to make it up to your woman?” I said, with a smirk.
His eyes narrowed on me. I bolted out of the office. He ran after me shouting my name, my given name, and I couldn’t help laughing, because it felt like when we were kids.
I clocked Michelle across the common room. She was sitting next to my Aunt Lia who held Rayna on her lap. Everyone turned their heads when they heard the commotion. Michelle stood seeing her man run after me. Her eyes wide. She had no idea what was about to happen. I ran straight for her. She put her hands out to stop me. I grabbed her, lifted her in my arms and ran around the couch, stopping behind it. Hunter in front of the couch, his
mother and daughter, huffing.
“Put. My. Woman. Down!” He growled out.

“But you said to make it up to her and I only know one way,” I said, grinning.
I looked at Michelle. I chuckled at the shocked look on her face.
“Michelle, I am so f*cking sorry for trying to put a wedge between you and Hunter. I was a fool
and an a*shole. Please forgive me,” I whispered.
“O..Okay,” she squeaked out.
I looked at Hunter with a smirk.
“Don’t you f*cking dare,” he snarled.
I quickly lowered my head and kissed her. She stiffened, her eyes going wider.
When I pulled back, Hunter roared, and she whispered, “Run.”
I winked at her, put her down and ran for my life. Hunter came around the couch and I rounded the other side, everyone around us roaring with laughter. I ran out of the clubhouse with him on my a*s. The Brothers that weren’t in the know or ranked, poured out after us. I turned quickly and tried to reason with him. I wasn’t scared of Joker, he and I had sparred often growing up, but that didn’t mean I didn’t want to go another round with him. My jaw was already hurting, and I was sure a bruise was already forming.
“You mother f*cker,” he snapped.
“What, you really wanted me to make it up to her, so I did.”
“An apology without touching her would have been enough.”
“Well, now. That’s on you, you know d*mn well, I don’t apologize half a*ssed. She’s an extremely beautiful woman, I had to give her my best.”
“You just wait, one day a woman is going to knock you on your a*s, and I’m going to be right
there to enjoy seeing your downfall.”
“You and I both know that’ll never happen,” I said.
All the playfulness left him. Everyone felt the awkwardness and they went inside. He and I
stood outside in the cold staring at each other.
“It could happen, Ice. You shouldn’t give up on love because of one bad c*nt. She f*cked you over as a kid and she did it royally. Her living rent–free in your head isn’t ideal man. She’s controlling your life without physically being here.”
“She tried coming back some years ago. I saw her, she stopped me and had the audacity to
flirt with me with all her kids around her. Two of them would have been the same age as mine.

How could she have someone else’s kids after she got rid of mine?” I said, feeling my heart
break more than it already had when I was told she ab*rted my child.
Arms were around me and my best friend held me as I broke down. I never dealt with my
anger about what happened to me. I sobbed hard, and my friend held me, the ice around my heart melting. My son or daughter would have been fifteen now.
“You gotta heal, brother. You’ll never find love again if you don’t forgive what that b*tch did.
Forgive her for you, not for her. That way, if, for whatever reason, you run into her again, you
can look at her and not give her the power that she’s been holding over you unbeknownst to
her.”
I pulled back and looked at him, and then I looked at his cut. It looked the same, but now he
had a Florida patch under his New York patch and instead of Vice President, there was a
President’s patch.
“You make an awesome President. Your new brothers are lucky to have you.”
“They’ll never be you lot, but they’re a good bunch of guys. I only have thirty members, but
they’ve been a great help to me. My VP is a former Navy SEAL. His name is Ninja. The skills
this guy has could rival Papa Roberto.”
“Don’t let him hear you say that,” I said.
“He probably already knows, scary f*cker, even at his age. I heard a rumor that they made him
head of the Mafia in Italy. That was the real reason he went back to Italy when we were teens.
”
“Shut the f*ck up, who told you that?”
“I had a guest. Before he took a swim in the ocean, he said something about being part of the Italian mob. I told him bull sh*t because the family was eradicated, and that I personally
knew who killed them all. He said that it was true and if he was killed, that the boss was
going to send someone looking for him. So, I called Papa Roberto to see if he heard anything and I told him why. Ice, he was silent for a long time, and then he said, no worries, that the
man must have done something to warrant his death. I said yeah, we caught him smuggling children for a trafficking ring, and he said, thank you. I think Papa Roberto is the head of the
Mob and has been for these last ten years.”
I threw my head back and laughed. I needed this to ease the tension, leave it up to Joker to come up with this c*ckamamy bullsh*t. It’s how he got his road name, all his pranks and outrageous stories.

“Yeah, okay.”
Just then, four motorcycles and an SUV came through the gates.
“There’s Money, Demon, and Crush with the rescues. Help get them set up?”
“Sure man, but I am still serious about what I said.”
“Sure, let’s go,” I said, with a chuckle.
