Chapter 135: A Wolf’s Truth Revealed

Chapter 135: A Wolf’s Truth Revealed

(Celeste’s POV

Grace is your sister,Scarlett’s words echoed in my mind, growing louder with each passing second

The air around us seemed to still as everyone processed the shocking revelation. Even Nina, usually composed and sharp, looked caught off guard. Her silvergray wolf bristled, shifting

closer to me like a shield

That’s impossible!Nina’s voice cut through the silence. She stepped forward, placing herself

between Grace and me with protective aggression. Her eyes, sharp as a blade, bore into Grace

Just look at their wolf forms. They’re nothing alike!”

She was right. The differences between us were as stark as night and day

Grace’s wolf was an unassuming dark brown, her amber eyes glowing faintly like a harvest

moon. It lacked the rare luster, the commanding presence of a wolf from an ancient bloodline

Mine, in contrast, was a silverwhite wolf with luminous violet eyes, undeniably marking my

connection to something far more profound and uncommon

Grace flinched as Nina’s harsh words hung over her, her wolf visibly cowering within her

Scarlett scrambled to defend. Her hands balled into trembling fists at her sides. “It’s not impossible!she countered, her voice rising in desperation. Grace inherited our father’s wolf

traits, while Celeste takes after our mother!”

Father. Mother. Words that should feel like a tether grounding me in familial bonds instead left

me adrift in turbulent waters

I narrowed my gaze at Scarlett. My voice came cold and calm, but my wolf stirred uneasily. And who exactly would our father be?”

Scarlett’s wolf radiated unease but pressed forward as if her very life depended on me listening. Our birth father. He’sScarlett faltered, glancing at Grace before speaking again. “the darkfurred wolf with amber eyes. The same mate as our healer mother.”

The mention of my supposed mother stirred emotions I hadn’t ventured to explore before. All I knew of her came from stray whispers and incomplete records, piecing together fragments of someone long gone

Chapter 135: A Wolf’s Truth Rev…

Victoria suddenly stepped forward, her emerald eyes wide, an echo of recognition flashing through them. Her lips parted as if she’d made a connection

The healeryour motherVictoria murmured softly. Her voice was weighted with an

emotion I struggled to identifywas it regret? Guilt

She turned her eyes to me, studying me as though seeing me anew. I remember her,she said

her voice barely above a whisper but firm with certainty

Scarlett’s wolf whimpered softly, and Grace, still trembling, looked up from her submissive

kneeling position

The healer who saved meVictoria continued, bringing her hand to her chest as if reliving

the memory. She used ancient moon magic to save both Scarlett and me during a difficult

labor while we were traveling between territories.”

The room collectively seemed to hold its breath at Victoria’s words. Even my wolf, scarred and

distant, pricked its ears as if the memory beckoned to us

Victoria drew a shaky breath before continuing. I went into early labor unexpectedly while

crossing dangerous borders. Nobody expected us to survive. The pack’s local healer was

away…” Her voice wavered slightly

But thenshe appeared,Victoria whispered, her emerald eyes softening at the thought. She had your eyes, Celeste. Violet eyes that seemed to glow with an inner light. Her wolfShe

trailed off, shaking her head, as if overwhelmed by the memory

My wolf remembers her too,Victoria admitted, pressing a hand over her heart for emphasis. Her presence, her energyshe was unforgettable. But her mate was there as well. A large

darkfurred wolf with amber eyes to match Grace’s.”

Scarlett’s wolf whimpered at the mention, guilt pouring off her in waves. Grace silently clung

to Scarlett’s side, her wolf completely subdued

Then how is this possible?I demanded sharply, my voice cutting through the tension like

blade. My violet eyes bore into Scarlett, unyielding

Grace shifted uncomfortably under the weight of everyone’s scrutiny. She dared not raise her

head

Victoria’s brows furrowed deeply as if trying to piece together the last fragments of the puzzle herself. But,” she finally began, her voice uncertain, we investigated Grace’s background thoroughly when Scarlett returned from human territory. Every record pointed to her belonging

to the Stone Creek Pack.”

Chapter 135: A Wolf’s Truth Rev…

Here it was. The unavoidable c***k in Scarlett’s seamless facade

Scarlett inhaled a shaky breath and finally spoke. II fabricated the records, she confessed abruptly, her voice trembling with both guilt and urgency

Victoria’s wolf stiffened beside me. The shock radiating off her was palpable, making the

room feel suffocating

Why would you do something like that?Victoria demanded, her tone sharp and demanding

I wasI was afraid,” Scarlett stammered, grabbing at Grace’s hand as though grasping for stability. She was visibly unraveling, pieces of her carefully constructed story falling apart. Afraid you wouldn’t accept a common wolf into our family!”

Victoria took a small but noticeable step back. Her wolf recoiled at Scarlett’s words

Scarlett’s eyes brimmed with emotion as she pressed on, explaining frantically. What if your resented Grace for her pack’s deception? What if the truth led to her mistreatment?”

Scarlett’s voice cracked. I couldn’t risk losing the only person who stood by me in human

territory.”

It hit me thenher desperation to hold onto Grace wasn’t for Grace’s sake alone. Scarlett’s warped protectiveness stemmed from her own insecurities, her craving for unconditional

loyalty

She glanced imploringly at her mother. Later, after witnessing your kindness, I knew you’d never harm her. But by then, the lie was cemented. I couldn’t undo it without exposing myself

as a fraud. II had to keep going.”

Her voice turned pleading as tears streamed down her cheeks. Sister, pleaseHer gaze swung to me now, the title leaving her trembling lips feeling foreign. I know my lies have hurt you. I know I’ve done unforgivable things. But Grace is your sister, your blood. Please don’t take her away”

My chest felt oddly tight. Not with sympathy or pity, but with an unidentifiable tangle of

emotions

My hand clenched instinctively at my side, but I forced it to relax before stepping closer to

Grace

Grace flinched as I approached, visibly trembling under my silent nervously to Scarlett, who radiated helpless despair

And then, I did what no one expected

gaze. Her amber

eyes darted

I extended my hand

Grace blinked up at me in shock, frozen in place. Slowly, almost hesitantly, she reached for my

outstretched arm

The second our hands connected, she broke completely

Her legs gave out beneath her as heartwrenching sobs racked her entire body. She clung to me like a lifeline, her wolf whimpering in sync with her cries

I’m sorry!Grace gasped repeatedly, her voice barely coherent. I’m so sorryfor everything”

Her head buried against my shoulder as waves of inexplicable sorrow tore through her

My hand hovered stiffly over her trembling back before I allowed it to rest there. This close, I felt her genuine regret radiating off her like a tangible force. But that didn’t diminish the guarded steel of my heart

I glanced at Nina, whose silvergray eyes revealed nothing but quiet approval of my restraint. I could feel her ready defenses despite the outward calm

Behind us, Victoria’s skepticism remained unshaken

This doesn’t add up,Victoria muttered more to herself than anyone else, her emerald eyes

narrowed as she paced

The maternal authority in her wolf reared its head. “Our investigation into Grace involved three separate packs. Witness statements, bloodline reportsit all validated her Stone Creek heritage. How could it all be fabricated?”

Her voice grew louder, angrier. Frustration bled into her tone as though her trust had once again been betrayed
