Chapter 108: A Brother’s Rage

Chapter 108: A Brother’s Rage

(Lucas’s POV

Alexander’s arrival was supposed to bring some semblance of control, but instead, the room

felt charged with even more anger. His iceblue eyes had already turned silver, betraying the fury he was trying to contain

Marcus, of course, basked in it all. That demon in wolf’s skin leaned back leisurely, his

arrogant smirk plastered on his face as though welcoming honored guests to a grand feast

”

He waved off his royal guards with the flick of his wrist, dismissing them as if we barely posed

a threat. Leave us,” he said, his tone as casual as if he were inviting us for an evening chat

This is between us boys.”

Then, arrogantly lounging, he poured himself another glass of moonblessed wine. He took

deliberate sip, violet eyes gleaming with the joy that only someone as twisted as him could

find in this situation. He looked between Alexander and me as if he’d already wonsome

unseen battle

Ah, the future Alpha,Marcus drawled, smiling lazily at me before his eyes flicked to

Alexander. And the famous strongest warrior. What an honor to have you both here. Truly, I’m

touched.”

The mocking edge in his voice made my wolf lunge beneath my skin, but I held back. Barely

Alexander stood tall beside me, his white wolf’s energy radiating relentless threat. His silence, though, was louder than any words could have been

Marcus’s eyes sparkled with delight as he casually rested one leg over the other. I take it this

is about our dear Celeste?he said smoothly. You both looktense.”

The way he said her name, the way he twisted it in his mouth, sent fire rushing through my

veins

Alexander didn’t respond. But his wolf’s killing intent filled the space, a force so strong that

even Marcus’s smirk faltered for a moment

Too quickly, though, Marcus recovered. He set the wine glass down delicately, tilting his head slightly. Ah, yes,” he said as if piecing together a puzzle. “The notorious Dark Forest. Did you hear she lasted longer than anyone else?”

Chapter 108: A Brother’s Rage

The words sliced through what little control I had left. My wolf growled low, dangerous. I felt my claws extending, itching for action

Alexander’s hand gripped my wrist tightly, a silent warning not to lose myself completely. But I couldn’t stop the way my body tensed with every word spewing from Marcus’s smirking lips

The chains, the whips, even the wolfsbaneSuch fascinating resilience,Marcus mused, his

tone dripping with admiration that made me sick to my stomach

He leaned back, clearly savoring our reactions. Most wolves,” he continued, his grin

unwavering, “break after just the first lash. But Celeste”

My wolf surged, and my claws extended further

She endured every single one,Marcus finished, shaking his head as though in mock

disbelief. “Not once did she beg. It wasHis eyes gleamed with something dark, even

twisted. Beautiful.”

I could feel my body trembling with rage. My fists clenched tight enough to draw blood from

my own palms. Every muscle screamed for me to leap at him, to rip that smug face apart

Alexander’s grip on my wrist tightened. His iceblue eyes shredded through the air without

single word spoken. Even in silence, his rage was deafening

Marcus only smiled wider, as though reveling in the thickening tension. Such a perfect mate,”

he murmured. Finally, someone strong enough to survive my games.”

The final wordgamesshattered the last thread holding me together

A roar burst from my chest, my wolf taking over. With a snap of strength, I ripped free from

Alexander’s grip and lunged toward Marcus

My claws found their target, raking deep across his cheek before Alexander could pull me

back. The impact was satisfying, the blood dripping from Marcus’s face even more so

But Marcus only laughed. His twisted joy in the face of violence ignited something darker

within me

He brought a hand up to his bleeding face, touching the wound delicately before examining

the blood on his fingertips like it was paint. His violet eyes sparkled with amusement

How dramatic,he said, his voice laced with condescension. You’ve got a bit of fight in you

after all, dear Lucas.”

I bared my fangs, snarling low. You. Are. Dead.”

Chapter 108: A Brother’s Rage

Marcus chuckled as though I’d told a joke. He wiped the blood off his face with the corner of

his sleeve as if it barely mattered, then leaned forward slightly in his oversized chair

Temper, temper, Future Alpha,” he chided. Then, with an infuriating calm, he added, You know, your silver staff performance at the Sacred Moon Temple wasn’t so different from my

methods”

His words hit harder than any physical blow. Memories of the silver staff connecting with Celeste’s trembling figurethe betrayal in her eyesflashed vividly in my mind

That was different,I growled, but even as I said it, shame prickled inside

Marcus raised an eyebrow, a predatory gleam overtaking his features. Oh?he said. Was it

truly?”

I opened my mouth to argue, but he didn’t let me

She disrespected hierarchy, Marcus continued lazily, his expression almost bored. So you punished her. Publicly. Harshly.”

His eyes locked onto mine, and for the first time, his grin transformed into something deeper-

almost sinister

We understand each other, Lucas,” he said softly, his tone almost intimate. Some wolves

need to be broken.”

My wolf froze. The weight of his accusations was too heavy to ignore

We’re nothing alike!I snarled, though the words sounded hollow even to me

Marcus chuckled again. Aren’t we?he asked, tilting his head. You saw that same unyielding

pride in her, didn’t you? The kind of pride that practically begs to be ripped away.”

I stumbled back a step, horror settling into my chest like ice

And rip it away we did,” Marcus whispered, his tone dripping with sadístic pride. He leaned back into his chair, the calm arrogance in his posture making my stomach churn

Marcus’s nonchalant cruelty pushed Alexander’s wolf closer to his breaking point. I could see

the storm in his clenched jaw, the tension in his rigid stance

For a fraction of a second, I thought Alexander might finally snap and lunge for him. But

instead, he stood stone still. Bound by the same invisible chains of pack law that protected

Marcus’s damn royal blood

But Marcus wasn’t finished twisting the knife. His voice darkened with relish as he spoke

again

Those silver scars she carries from Moon Shadow Prison,” he mused. They made such

beautiful patterns when Iadded my own touches.”

My wolf howled with shame, rage, and something deepersomething harder to name. I’d sent her straight into the clutches of this monster. I’d handed her to him, justified his cruelty, and

even called it justice

She trusted you,Marcus said sharply, his tone dropping into something quieter yet sharper

He leaned forward slightly, his violet eyes locking painfully onto mine. Isn’t that right? Fourteen years as the cherished sister before you”

Shut. Up,I hissed, my voice dangerous but faltering

Marcus ignored me. Oh, Lucas,” he murmured almost sympathetically. The very moment you

betrayed her, she was mine.”

Something in me began to break. A primal growl ripped from my throat, desperate and raw.

But Marcus only smiled wider at the sound

You started it,” he whispered softly. I simplyfinished what you began.”

Those words struck the final blow

Everything inside me roared to lifethe guilt, the betrayal, the rage. It all melded into one overpowering storm I couldn’t contain
