CHAPTER 160: DARE TO LOVE ME Do you have a date?! Part 2
Loli
I looked at myself in one of the mirrors, and the result was marvelous. Alana watched me, standing beside me in front of the mirror. I asked if she liked it, and she responded with a sweet “yes.” I made her spin around, and she did so delightedly before gifting me the most
adorable smile.
“Darling, she’ll be a queen of glamour; she already is,” Tino said as he picked her up and
kissed her chubby cheek before looking at me. “My goodness, Loli, you’re stunning.” Tino spun
me around, and I smiled. Tino was always very sincere, and if he said it, I had to believe him.
The girls‘ smiles said it all.
We got ready to leave; the store was about to close, and everyone was going home, so we
walked towards the exit.
“Will, prepare dinner tonight, and I can’t wait for dessert,” Ash commented, and we all laughed,
understanding him.
“Loli, one of the guys will drive you; you won’t have time to go home for your car,” Alaia offered.
“Thanks,” I said, bidding them and the darlings goodbye.
“You look gorgeous,” they said simultaneously, and feeling beautiful, I watched them leave.
Gus glanced at me slightly but didn’t seem to recognize me, so I got into the SUV.
I waited for us to move after giving the bodyguard the restaurant’s location, but we didn’t. A
second later, I saw Gus get into the passenger seat, and that’s when we started moving.
Thirty minutes later, we arrived at the restaurant, and the driver got out to open my door while Gus looked at something on his phone.
I thanked him and walked towards the entrance, where a host took me to the table where
Lorenzo was already waiting for me, smiling as he saw me.
“Good evening,” I said, giving him two kisses.
“You look beautiful,” he said, and I blushed before he pulled out the chair for me.
“Thank you.”
“How was your day?” I asked, feeling at ease with him.
“Good, it was a noisy morning, grades, getting a few kids‘ attention in class,” he commented,

and I understood what he meant.
“I was a teacher for a while too, and those are beautiful moments that won’t come back,” I
said, reminiscing.
“Yes, your mother told me about it,” he said, and well, I couldn’t handle my mother.
We placed our orders when one of the waiters arrived.
They brought a bottle of wine that I liked very much, and I looked at Lorenzo, surprised.
“Don’t tell me,” I preempted what he was about to say, “it was my mother,” I affirmed, and he nodded. Already resigned, I could only laugh, but my laughter was interrupted when I saw Gus with his phone to his ear, looking for something in the place until he saw me and said
something on the phone before leaving again.
I gestured that I didn’t understand, but I saw him disappear behind the door. He must have
gotten lost or something.
We received our dishes and continued talking. He was a pleasant guy, although I thought my
feelings were frozen, but I wasn’t closing the door to the possibility of being friends.
A while later, I noticed Gus re–entering, but this time someone was behind him. My eyes
widened when I saw Gavin, who was talking to his friend, and then looked directly at where I
was, his face tense.
I turned to see Gus and gestured, asking what was happening.
“I need to do something quickly,” I told Lorenzo, and he nodded.
I stood up and walked towards the two of them, worried. Something might have happened at
Alaia’s house, my darlings, everyone.
Gavin looked me up and down the entire way, and my stomach felt a flutter. I grimaced, unable
to control it.
“Did something happen?” I asked Gus, scared.
“Nothing happened,” Gavin was the one who responded, “we came to have dinner,” he looked at my companion at his table, “and why not, to look after you, since you decided to go out with a guy you barely know,” he explained, and my face was a massive “What?!!!!”
“How do you know…?” I interrupted myself, but why was I talking about this with him, “I don’t need anyone to look after me; you see I’m all grown up,” I pointed to myself, and Gavin didn’t miss the opportunity to look at my body, “so I ask you to leave right now,” I whispered and pointed at them with my small finger. Feeling I’d said what I wanted, I turned back to the table.

“We won’t leave,” Gavin spoke, and I looked at him again, “we’ll have dinner here, we’ll be around in case you want to join us,” he pointed to a table with high chairs.
And what was wrong with him?
“I know what you did,” I pointed at Gus, who scratched the back of his neck, looking
uncomfortable.
I returned to the table, and out of the corner of my eye, I noticed they’d settled at the table.
Gavin mentioned.
I took a deep breath. If he intended to ruin my night, I wouldn’t let him.
“Everything okay?” Lorenzo asked.
“Very well,” I nodded with a smile, knowing that Gavin was watching me; I could feel it.
With the firm intention of ignoring him, I resumed my conversation with Lorenzo.
I tried to keep the rhythm, but it was almost impossible, so I breathed and focused my senses
on the guy in front of me and what he was saying.
“It was December, and we had asked the children to dress as the shepherds of Bethlehem. We
thought everything was in order as we watched the little ones come in one by one,” he
commented animatedly, and I listened attentively, “until we saw one of the kids dressed as an
animal with big teeth. We were taken aback and approached him and his mother, who was
looking at the other children with a terrified expression. We asked what had happened, and
she replied that the child had said they should dress as a beaver, you know, the animal with
the flat tail,” he finished, and my laughter echoed through the hall when I understood the small
and tender mix–up that had happened at that moment.
“They are the best part of this job,” he commented, and I agreed, unable to stop laughing.
“Good evening, Gavin greeted, taking the chair next to me, which he moved noisily until he
was very close to me. I watched him, unable to say a word or even react.
