CHAPTER 134:DARE TO LOVE ME Ashley
Ashley
I took my phone to call Frank, puzzled as to why his car was there but not him.
“Sorry, I had to stay a bit longer in a meeting with my manager in Germany,” he explained as
soon as he answered. “I was on my way, but I left my car in case you needed it.”
“Thanks, they’ve closed the bar and I just left. Please apologize to your friends for me; I left
without saying goodbye,” I said, glancing at the streets.
“It’s alright, they’ll understand. Are you heading home?”
“I was, but I just saw a Mexican restaurant that’s still open. I like nachos,” I explained, and
Frank laughed. The driver looked at me, and I nodded. In a second, we were turning back.
“Send me the restaurant’s location. I’ll be there in a few minutes,” he said before we ended the
call.
Frank arrived soon, and after ordering, we headed to our table to wait for our food.
“Your dynamic with William is curious,” Frank said, wiping his lips with a napkin after tasting
his burrito. I pouted, and he looked at me suspiciously. “It’s obvious something’s going on
between you two, and from what I’ve seen, you don’t seem indifferent to him.”
“What are you talking about? He thinks I’m a gay guy. William wouldn’t set his eyes on
someone of the same sex.”
He laughed and shook his head.
“Well, I was considering switching teams for you,” he commented, making me laugh.
I sighed, pondering the possibility that what he said might be true, but then I remembered
Jessie and her wedding ideas.
“I’ll bring the whole family to this place,” I changed the subject, and Frank looked at me
understandingly.
After about an hour in the restaurant, my companion received a call.
He talked for a few seconds, then looked puzzled.
“I’m on my way,” he stood up and ended the call.
“What’s going on?” I did the same.
“They called from the bar we were at. William is still there, has had too much to drink, and

refuses to leave. He mentioned us. I’ll go get him; you can go home in my car.”
“No, I’ll go with you,” I said, following him. We got into his truck.
We arrived in a few minutes and entered through the underground parking area.
We took the elevator, and when we reached the bar, I saw only a few lights were on.
Two men were attending to the only person still at the same table from hours ago.
I saw Will slumped in his seat, his arms on his knees, his head hanging down.
They explained that William usually stayed at the bar longer, and this was the first time this
had happened. Then they handed me Will’s phone.
What was he thinking? How could he drink so much alone?
“It’s alright, we’ll take him home,” said Frank, and we approached Will, who seemed barely
aware of where he was.
Frank and I helped him stand while he muttered incomprehensibly, but at least he could walk
on his own.
We managed to get him into the truck, and soon I was settled beside him, with Frank in the
passenger seat.
Will’s head fell onto my shoulder, and I held his face to keep it from slipping. My heart started pounding from his proximity.
Frank’s car stopped in front of the building where our drunken companion lived. The
receptionist quickly let us in after seeing Will.
At the apartment door, we paused and looked at each other, thinking the same thing.
The keys.
“They should be in his pocket,” Frank said, eyeing his pants and waiting for me to search. “What are you waiting for?” he looked at me.
“You… I don’t think Will would mind if you did it, believe me,” he smiled. “Or I could go to reception for a copy,” he moved, leaving all of Will’s weight on me.
“Alright, I’ll do it,” I said, moving my hand over his jacket just in case, then to his pants where I found the keys, swallowing hard as I felt a large bulge near the pocket.
Frank raised an eyebrow at me and smiled.
I narrowed my eyes and quickly opened the door. We took Will to his room, sat him on the bed, and he fell back with his full weight, seemingly asleep.

Frank observed him. “He can’t stay alone, and I have to go. I have a meeting soon,” he looked at his phone.
“I’ll stay with him; it’s only a few hours until morning,” I shrugged.
“Can I trust you? You won’t take advantage of his state?” he asked jokingly, and I quickly punched his shoulder.
“Come on, man,” I murmured, and he laughed.
“Call me if you need anything,” he kissed my forehead and left the room. “My truck will be
waiting downstairs,” he called from the first floor, and I watched him leave, unable to tell him it
wouldn’t be necessary.
I put my hands on my hips and looked at William, who slept like a bear. I settled next to the bed, watching him.
A few minutes later, he sat up and clumsily started removing his tie. I walked over and helped
him, and he froze when he felt my hands, blinking at me.
“Asher?” he slurred.
“Let me help you, you’ve drunk all the bottles in the bar,” I commented, undoing his tie and
helping him undress, swallowing hard at the sight of his naked torso so close. He started
undoing his belt, and I helped him stand.
“Why does your scent affect my senses the way it does?” he asked, and I looked into his eyes,
wondering if he was talking about me.
I said nothing, thinking he was confused.
“I struggle daily with the desire to see you,” I wrinkled my nose and forehead as much as
possible. “I must keep you away or I’ll fall,” he shook his head.
But what was he talking about?
He stopped moving, and I noticed he could stand on his own, even with his pants on. He took
my chin and made me look at him, caressing my cheek with his thumb, and suddenly I got
nervous.
He looked at my lips, then my eyes. My God, I thought he must be hallucinating.
I’d have to find out what he drank to avoid it at all costs.
I was thinking about this when I felt Will’s lips crash against mine. I opened my eyes in surprise, but the exquisite way his lips moved and his tongue invaded my mouth made me lose myself in them. His arms wrapped around me, and I placed mine around his neck,

entangling my fingers in his hair. My body accelerated at this first kiss. I heard his breathing
and let myself go. His moist lips moved with intensity, making me want more of them every
second. Will took us to the bed, and I ended up on top of him, continuing to kiss him, not
caring if what I was doing was wrong. He was drunk, I wasn’t. His hands went to my buttocks
and squeezed them hard. A very feminine moan escaped my lips, and he opened his eyes,
looked at me, and devoured my mouth again. I moved on top of him and heard him gasp. He
started opening my jacket, and I helped him. I sat up to remove my jacket and sweater, and he
watched me.
“Asher,” he said, looking at me. I froze, waiting for his reaction. He said nothing, and with my
pulse racing, I decided to take my beret off. My hair fell over my shoulders, and he furrowed
his brow as much as possible, bringing his fingers to a strand of my hair on my waist.
“Ashley,” I corrected him, and he focused on my face.
“Ashley,” he repeated, and I bit my lip at the sound of my name in his voice.
I nodded and leaned in to kiss him tenderly again, convinced that if this ever happened, he
should be in his right mind.
I felt him stop responding, and the pressure of his hands on my waist loosened. I saw he had
fallen asleep. I settled beside him and quickly fell asleep.
The vibration of a phone woke me. I moved away from Will, who was still deeply asleep, and
my hair fell over my face as I leaned over to find my phone in my jacket.
“Tino,” I said sleepily.
“I’ve been trying to reach you for half an hour, daughter. Where have you been? In whose bed
did you sleep? Because it wasn’t yours.” He bombarded me, and I closed my eyes.
“I’m fine, with a friend,” I said.
“But what friend? You don’t have friends.”
“I’ll explain later. Why did you call?”
“We have a fashion emergency. Come home right now.”
“But-”
“I said right now,” he yelled and hung up.
What a temper.
I looked at Will, who was still deeply asleep and proceeded to put on the clothes I had taken

off. I hurried home because Tino’s fashion emergencies always involved the collection we
were working on.
I hid my hair under the beret, left the apartment, and as Frank had mentioned, his car was
waiting at the entrance.

I opened my eyes and immediately felt everything spinning.
“s**t,” I rubbed my face, feeling like my head had been pounded.
I focused on my apartment and wondered how I got there. I remembered going into the bar
after Asher left and having several drinks.
I breathed and closed my eyes, avoiding the light. I sat on the bed, looked around, stood up, and paced back and forth. I entered the bathroom, looking for something. What? I had no idea.
I sat back on the bed, and the image of a beautiful woman with dark hair made me frown. I shook my head, sure I had hallucinated. I thought the drinks I had last night contained something else.
