Sudden Arrival
ISABELLA’S POV
Alexander, the current Alpha of the Bluemoon Pack, is also my brother Raymond’s best friend. He has been a constant presence in our lives. Five years ago, when I joined the Bluemoon Pack, Alexander not only offered me safety but also assured me that my past would remain a secret. He helped me establish my new identity as Raymond’s sister, and now everyone calls
me Bella.
I have always been thankful to him. He has helped me a lot during these past few years and his kindness has extended to the twins as well. He was patient, generous, and always had a smile on his face which made Liam and Lily adore him.
“What’s up, cupcake?” He carried Lily into his arms, who was now giggling with happiness.
“You brought cake!” Lily exclaimed excitedly, and I shook my head at their little interaction.
“Uncle, let me hold it.” Liam went to their side and got the boxes of cakes from Alexander’s hand. Alexander then used his other free hand to ruffle his hair.
“Thanks, little champ.”
“Your hands will get sore. She’s grown quite heavy now.” I finally approached them and
reminded Alexander.
His gentle eyes fell on me before he laughed. “She’s indeed grown quite a bit, but do you think
I can’t handle this?”
I shook my head, chuckling softly before Lily started requesting herself to get down.
“Give this to mommy first.” Alexander gently instructed Lily while handing her a bouquet of flowers, which I only just noticed he had been carrying.
Lily obediently agreed as she ran over to me, her face beaming with pride. “Mommy, look! Uncle Xavier gave us cakes and this beautiful bouquet for you!”
After giving me the bouquet, she ran towards the kitchen where Liam probably was, and I knew they’d be too busy with the treats that Alexander had just brought.
I looked at the bouquet of tulips in my hand, my eyes flashing with mixed emotions that I
didn’t know Alexander had already neared me.
“Hey…”
“Thanks for this,” I raised my head and flashed him a smile. “It’s very thoughtful of
you, but-”

Sudden Arrival
“But I know that you’re still not ready.” He cut me off from speaking, his smile didn’t waver.
And still, I’m willing to wait until you are. It’s just a small gift.”
I heaved a sigh upon hearing his words. Although I could feel his sincerity, it only added to the complexity of my feelings. Alexander’s mate passed away four years ago even before I arrived
here at the Bluemoon Pack. Now, the pack currently has no Luna, and he has expressed his interest in pursuing me. He’s always patient, sincere, and respectful. He has both the looks and the right attitude. But I’m still not ready for any kind of commitment, and I’ve already told
him that. Yet, he still insists on waiting.
I’m not even sure myself when I’ll be ready to open up my heart again. It’s still there. I still
carry the past with me.
“Alright, don’t think too much about it.” Alexander got the bouquet out of my hands, putting it
on the table.
“I came here because there’s something important I need to tell you.”
I frowned, feeling dread slowly washing over me hearing his sudden serious tone. “What is it?”
“The annual council meeting will be held here in our pack.” He heaved a sigh. “It’s next week.
And there’s a high possibility that Xavier will be attending.”
The mention of Xavier’s name hit me like a cold wave. I froze in my spot, suddenly finding it
hard to breathe.
“Xavier…?” I whispered, somewhat becoming absentminded, but I quickly shook my head to
avoid the distracting feeling.
“Are you sure he’s coming?”
Alexander nodded at me, his expression grim. “Yes, and I think it’s important for you to be
prepared.”
My heart raced as I tried processing the news. The thought of seeing Xavier after all these years was overwhelming… It sent me a feeling of anxiety and fear. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to face him… Not that I’m planning to.
But there would be possibilities of meeting him if I don’t get careful enough.
“Are you still wearing the necklace I gave you?” Alexander asked after moments of silence.
I nodded, making him sigh in relief.
“That’s good. As long as you wear that necklace, he won’t sense your presence here.” He assured me, but the uncomfortable feeling in my chest still remained.

Sudden Arrival
It was not the possibility of Xavier finding me that made me scared. In fact, I don’t even think he’ll spare any effort to find me. After all these years, he must’ve completely forgotten about my existence and instead enjoyed his life together with Sophia to the fullest.
The only thing I feared was the possibility of him finding out about our twins.
“The kids…” I exchanged worried glances with Alexander.
“It’s okay. As long as they stay here during those three days, I can assure you he won’t find out about them I won’t even let him see their shadows.”
–
Still absentminded, I nodded at him. As I sent Alexander off, I scanned our whole
surroundings.
Our home was located in an isolated area of the Bluemoon Pack. Raymond and Alexander also arranged for a tight security around the area. Somehow, the location made me feel at ease. But the fear and anxiousness still kept bugging my heart.
THE DAYS passed by quickly, and before I knew it, a week had already passed. The Annual Council Meeting will start tomorrow, and despite my worries, I still managed to go to the pack house to help with the preparations.
“Alexander will get mad if he sees you here.”
only chuckled at Hailey’s remarks. She knew about Alexander’s warning and advice for me not to go out, especially this week. But the twins were too bored at home, so I decided to take them to the pack house to play with some of their friends.
“But he’s not here, right?” I said in a smiling tone, referring to Alexander. “I have nothing to do at home, so here I am.”
I set my heart at ease, thinking that the Annual Council Meeting wasn’t happening today and there was still nothing to worry about… At least not now…
Little did I know, this decision of mine would turn out to be a bad one. Moments later, the servants around suddenly panicked, rushing in and out of the pack house.
Seeing the sudden commotion, Hailey frowned and went to ask one of the busy servants passing by. “What’s the fuss all about?”
But then, the servant’s reply was enough to send me into a state of shock.
“Alpha Xavier from the Lunar Crescent Pack has arrived.”
