“Yeah!” Luna responded without looking up.
Nicole couldn’t stand this anymore. Although she wasn’t particularly close with Luna, she had come to see her as a friend after they’d shared a dorm room for four years.
“Luna, acupuncture is the most niche field in our university. You’ve literally switched from the most popular major to the least popular one. Don’t you think that’s a bit too drastic?
“Have you thought it through? Will you regret it in the future? This will impact your future- you shouldn’t joke about it. Don’t make rash decisions!”
Luna knew Nicole was genuinely concerned about her. So, she explained, “I’ve thought it through. Learning acupuncture doesn’t mean I’ll give up on my original course of study.
“All I did was quit Professor Hanley’s research team. Things aren’t as serious as you think. I need an internship and a mentor, so I’m very grateful to Professor Wilder for taking me in at this time.”
Nicole seemed to have picked up on Luna’s undertone. “About Professor Hanley-”
“I will not comment on other matters. But I’m serious about learning acupuncture. I’m not joking; I’m confident in mastering it.” Luna wrapped the conversation up with a smile. She did not plan on explaining any further.
Although Nicole was anxious, she knew it was not her place to press on. She could only deal with her messy thoughts alone.
“By the way, the online forum is abuzz! Check it out when you’re free. Wyatt and Rhett seemed to be at odds, and everyone’s waiting to watch them clash!”
“Got it.” Luna grabbed her phone. “Thanks!”
Nicole waved at her. “Don’t be. If you really want to thank me, how about mentoring me for the Medical Innovation Competition in two months?”
Nicole’s words brought back memories.
In her previous life, Luna had still been part of Professor Hanley’s team when that same competition took place. Wyatt had signed up to participate too.
The competition required teams of three to six members. Luna had been the one to come up with the idea, plan the entire project, and even write the final thesis report.
But she wasn’t selected to be part of the team–all because Wyatt said she had won enough competitions. But Mia, in comparison, didn’t have much on her resume.
Besides, as a team, they shouldn’t favor the stronger members over the weaker ones. And to ensure everyone progressed at the same rate, Wyatt had decided to put Mia in the team

because she too had participated in the process.
At that time, Luna had agreed to the decision under Wyatt’s gentle gaze as if under a spell. Later on, their team won the grand prize in the competition and were given a personal cash award of a hundred thousand dollars.
However, Mia had hogged it all. Not only did Luna get nothing, but the whole team even shamelessly took credit for her innovation to win the competition.
After it was over, Luna did not receive a single word of thanks. They simply took her for granted.
Luna let out a soft sigh. “Have you come up with a proposal? Show it to me. I’ll take a look for you.”
Luna recalled that in her past life, Professor Wilder’s team hadn’t joined the competition at all. Nicole’s team had ended up taking first place.
But what if Nicole’s team could win the grand prize instead this time? If Luna shared her original idea and guided them through it, maybe they could.
The idea grew more irresistible by the minute.
Nicole, on the other hand, had never expected Luna to actually say yes.
Her mentor was not as good as Professor Hanley. She had tried to fight for a place in Professor Hanley’s class during class enrollment period, but she was out of luck every year. Naturally, receiving guidance from Professor Hanley’s student was the next best thing.
Nicole brought over her laptop and said, “Take a look at this–this is our idea, but we haven’t figured out how to write it up yet!”
Luna was surprised. Nicole’s idea was very similar to hers in her past life.
“Was this idea proposed by your team, or did you come up with it yourself?”
