CHAPTER 9
ASHER POV
I can’t believe that Beau couldn’t follow one simple instruction. All I wanted was for him to
keep an eye on Ivy and make sure that no one gives her any s**t. And his ex–girlfriend gets into a fight with her on the first day and he blurts out that he’s only her friend because his
Alpha ordered him to. He was f*****g everything up. He was going to ruin everything.
I wasn’t going to let that little punk ruin all my plans. When I stormed out of the living room I
went to the back of the house and I ran straight to the woods shifting while running and
shredding the clothes that I was wearing.
I ran through the woods until I got to Ivy’s house and I stayed in the woods behind her house.
and I saw her upstairs in her bedroom. She was sitting on the bed for a bit before she sat at
the desk and started opening her school books.
I then heard something coming through the woods towards the house so I backed up a little
so that they wouldn’t know that I was there and I couldn’t believe it. It was Beau. He was
sneaking around outside her window. What the f**k was he thinking. He picked up a stone and
threw it at her window, but her window was open and hit her in the head and I heard her yell.
f*****g i***t. Is he trying to run them out of town?
I watched her tell him to get lost but he refused and I was surprised when she decided to
come downstairs and talk to him. I watched their whole interaction and when Beau said that
she could rip his heart out if he hurt her again, that made my heart skip a beat. Why the f**k
would he say that. There’s only one reason why my brother would say something like that to a
girl. He had a f*****g crush on her.
That’s not how this was meant to go. He was meant to keep an eye on her. Not fall for her.
What the f**k was he thinking? Or what the f**k was I thinking? Why did I send my brother to
take care of her? I should have chosen one of the girls at school. But then they would ask questions and word would get around. I knew that my brother was the best choice, until he
actually told her that I had ordered him to watch her.
She agreed to give him a second chance and he walked away looking like he was on cloud nine. And I felt like I could rip his f*****g head off. What the f**k was he doing? He wasn’t
meant to go out with her. Just keep an eye on her.
I stayed outside her window for a couple of hours and I heard her go to sleep. I could hear her breathing. And it was peaceful and it relaxed me. She was in there sleeping. More importantly, she was in there sleeping alone. That’s what really relaxed me.

CHAPTER 9
The following day I waited for Beau and Cole to leave for school and I left the house not long after them. I waited across the street from school and I saw Ivy pull into the carpark and Beau was waiting for her. They walked in together and I walked over to the school.
I was being really careful not to be seen by them. And I saw them at Ivy’s locker. Emma started approaching them and I was watching for something to happen. If she touched Ivy again then I was going to kill her myself. But she just walked past and didn’t do anything. Probably because Beau and Cole were with her. That’s the only reason I could think of.
They started walking the other way down the hall but Ivy turned around and I quickly hid around the wall so she didn’t see me. And when I saw them start walking off again I knew that it was safe to come out and I followed them around the other corner and they went into their
classroom.
I hung around the school for a while that day without being seen by my brothers or Ivy and
then I went back to the packhouse.
As soon as I got there I went into the office and I opened the drawer in my desk and pulled out an envelope. I pulled the photos out of it and I looked at the photos of Ivy that were taken at her old pack. Most of them were her at home. She didn’t seem to go anywhere and there were some taken at school but I didn’t like looking at those ones. They were of people bullying her. They were horrible to look at, I didn’t like to think of people being mean to Ivy.
Most of the photos she was reading in them so I looked at the names of the books that she was reading. It seemed that she liked the classics. I wonder which ones she doesn’t have. That was my mission. To find out which books she doesn’t have and to see where I can get them from if they are hard to find. I knew that I could find them. And I would. I would do
anything for Ivy
