CHAPTER 60
I was getting really paranoid after that conversation with Asher. I didn’t know what to do. And I was a little afraid to go anywhere alone. So he made sure that someone had eyes on me at all times. And he obviously chose people that he trusted without a question of doubt. But he didn’t make it obvious. He made sure that they had eyes on me but they were actually escorting me anywhere. They were following me from a distance so that it wasn’t so obvious.
I had to continue my Luna duties and I had a meeting with a group of ladies to hear what issues that they had around the pack which took us almost an entire state. Some of them. traveled hours to be here so we had food and drinks set up in the conference room and we all sat around the table talking about all the issues that they had in their little communities. They all told me of things that were happening and I was writing everything down that I thought needed attention, especially around security.
Now more than ever, I was worried about security. I had to make sure that the true and loyal members of my pack felt safe and at ease. I needed to make sure that they were protected at all times. And we had patrols around the territory at all times but I decided that it might be best to place patrols around their communities at all times as well.
They had a few other issues that I knew I could deal with myself and didn’t have to involve security or anything like that. And afterwards we just sat around talking, and getting to know each other even more than we did. We were like a family and we made sure that everyone in the pack felt like family. So I wanted to spend this time with them. It was really the only time that I got a chance to just sit down with a group of women and talk crap like women do. And of course Spencer was there, who was always down for girl time. Especially now since she is pregnant and is due to give birth very soon.
When Freya got home from school that afternoon she came into the kitchen where I was and
sat at the island in the middle of the room.
“How was school?” I asked.
“It was okay.” She says. And I looked at her because she usually tells me about her whole day.
“What’s wrong? What’s going on?” I asked.
“I don’t know. Mitch is acting weird.” She says.
“Well, teenage boys are weird.” I say and she smirks at that.
“I heard that.” Cole sang out from the other room and Freya started laughing.
“You’re not a teenager.” Freya says.

“Actually, he still is. He’s only 19. Still a man child.” I say.
“Oi.” He yelled from the living room and we both started laughing.
“What’s Mitch doing?” I asked.
“I think he likes someone else instead of me.” She says.
“Oh sweetie. I’m sorry. I wish I could help with that. But boys are ass holes sometimes. And
they have very short attention spans. Especially when it comes to girls.” I say.
“Alright. Are you trying to piss me off?” Cole asked, coming into the room.
“I don’t need to try to piss you off. One little comment will do that.” I smirk.
“Alright Freya. You need to walk up to this boy at school and punch him in the throat.” Cole
says.
“Don’t you dare.” I say.
“Why not? That’s exactly what you would have done. Actually, didn’t you do that when you first
moved to this pack?” Cole asked.
“It wasn’t a boy and I didn’t punch him in the throat. It was Beau’s ex–girlfriend.” I say.
“Oh, that’s right. She was pissed because he was spending so much time with you.” Cole says.
“Shut up.” I say.
“Were you and Beau a thing?” Freya asked.
“No. Not really. It looked like it was going to go that way but then we found out that Asher was
my mate. So obviously it didn’t go any further than that.” I say.
“That’s weird.” She says.
“I know. But it happened.” I say.
“I have homework to do.” She says.
“Alright. Just don’t stress about this boy. He’ll come to his senses and realize what an
awesome chick you are.” I say. She just smiled at me and grabbed her bag and walked
upstairs.
“Do you remember what it was like to be that age?” Cole asked.
“I was shunned by my entire pack at that age. So I didn’t have boy troubles.” I say.
“s**t. Sorry, I forgot.” He said.
“It’s alright. Don’t stress.” I say.

CHAPTER 60
I went to the office at 4pm and Asher was just finishing a meeting with some warriors and
when I walked in I closed the door behind me so it was just us two.
We had four file cabinets full of pack members files and we had to go through them and critique every single one of them. But we were starting with the refugees and the ones that we gained after killing Jackson.
I hacked on to the dark web and Asher would give me a name and I would check that out on the dark web while he was going through the file that we had on them.
We started with Lucy because we knew that she was definitely against us and we wanted to make sure that what we were doing was going to work.
The information on the net was a hell of a lot different then what was in her file. So we knew that this was going to be the best way to weed out the traitors.
“I am going to keep an eye on that vile of birth control that Lucy has. Once she stops giving it to me, then that’s when they are putting their plan into action. Apparently Levi plans on snatching me away while I am pregnant to ensure that you don’t attack and Levi gets whatever the hell he wants from you.” I explained.
“Good idea. Make sure that Lucy is really occupied when you sneak into her room though.” He
says.
“I will.” I say.
“What about your scent? She’ll smell it when she goes into her room?” He asked.
“I have a spray to hide my scent.” I say looking at the computer.
“That’s witchcraft.” He says.
“In a way. I found the potion myself and made it myself. And it works. I’ve been scaring the crap out of Cole for the last two weeks.” I said and Asher started laughing.
“That’s why he’s been so paranoid about you.” Asher says.
“Well, I needed to make sure that it worked.” I say. And he started laughing again.
“You can be really evil sometimes, do you know that?” He asked.
“Yep. And now that he’s complained to you I might have to step up my game.” I say.
“Oh god.” Asher moaned knowing that this was going to get worse.
We were in his office until dinner time and we had singled out about 9 people so far that we weren’t sure could be trusted. Which I wasn’t happy about. I was hoping to find none. But we were finding them.

CHAPTER 60
We headed to the dining room and Freya was sitting at the table texting on her phone while the food was being brought out.
“Freya. Phone.” I say.
“But it’s Mitch.” She says.
“I don’t care. You can talk to him after dinner. Tell him that.” I say. So she sent that final text and put her phone down.
“How is it going with that boyfriend?” Asher asked. And I lightly shook my head telling her not
to tell him.
“He likes someone else.” Freya blurted out.
“What?” Asher asked, looking pissed.
“This other girl is telling him that I am no good because of who my father was.” Freya says.
“What?” I yelled this time. And everyone jumped at my sudden outburst.
“Who is this little b***h?” I asked.
“I don’t think I want to tell you now.” Freya says.
“Who is she?” I asked.
“Her name is Natalie. Natalie Simpson.” Freya says. And Asher and I both looked at each
other. Her father was one of the people that we had already singled out as a possible traitor.
“Well, maybe we should have a talk with Natalie.” Asher says.
“No. Please don’t. You will just make things worse. Please?” Freya begged.
“Alright. We won’t talk to her. But we might have a chat with her f**king parents.” I say.
“I know that they don’t like me. Her mother is always glaring at me whenever she’s at the
school. She works in the office.” Freya says.
“Yeah. She does.” I say.
“Don’t worry about them anymore Freya. I’ll take care of it. They have no right to talk about you
like that. Their Luna has the same father as you. So that is hitting their Alpha and Luna below
the belt. Not just you.” Asher insisted.
“Okay.” Freya says.
‘I’ll talk to that b***h tomorrow. Asher linked me.
‘Good. Fire her too. I don’t want her near Freya.‘ I say.
