CHAPTER 36
TWO MONTHS LATER
A pack in Arkansas has just recently been hit by Jackson’s army and was left with nothing but
burning buildings, dead people and an abandoned packhouse.
A black van pulled up in the middle of town and I got out of the passenger seat while my
guard Bentley got out of the driver’s seat. We were followed up by three SUV’s where about 20
warriors got out and we looked around at the devastation.
“Do you know where the SOS came from?” Bentley asked.
“They said that they were held up in a warehouse in the middle of town. We need to start
scoping it out and see if we can find them.” I say.
“Alright. Split into teams of five. Stay with your teams and don’t leave each others side. We
want five with myself and the Luna.” Bentley announced to the warriors.
So we split up and started walking through this small town that didn’t look like it had much of
anything before it was attacked.
We finally came across a warehouse and I was told to wait outside first while the warriors
went in first. I was never allowed in first because of my status. But they said it was clear and I
walked inside.
We found the survivors of the attack. Two women with 12 children.
“Hi there. I’m Ivy Inglewoods from the Blood Moon Pack. We’re here to get you out of here.” I
say kneeling down to them.
“Alpha Asher’s mate. You’re the Luna.” The woman said,
“I guess so. Yeah.” I say.
“Wow. I didn’t think they would actually send their Luna.” She says.
“Well, I’m not a typical Luna.” I said and I heard a couple of the warriors scoff behind me and I
slowly turned to look at them. So they straightened up and were trying not to laugh.
“Come on. Let’s get you out of here. Do you know if there are any other survivors?” I asked.
“No. I’ve been trying to mind link but there’s nothing. We’re all that’s left.” She says,
“Alright.” I say. So they all stood up and we walked outside of the warehouse and we started
walking back to the van when I heard this weird nose above us, I looked up and there was a
drone flying above us filming everything that we were doing.

“Reporters. They’ve been doing that to all known wolf packs. Luckily they haven’t found ours yet.” The woman told me.
But we led the survivors to the van and put them in the back and closed the door and mindlinked the other warriors to get back to us now. We’re leaving. And out of nowhere we heard a ferocious growl.
I turned around and there were three werewolves coming out from behind the buildings that
we were parked at.
“It’s an ambush.” Bentley says.
“I don’t care. We’re getting these people out.” I demanded. I looked around and I noticed that there were werewolves coming out from all different sides of us. We were outnumbered so I
made sure that everyone was secure in the van and I closed the door.
“Luna. Get in the van.” Bentley yelled.
“Not a f**king chance.” I say.
All the warriors were surrounding me and they shifted one by one to take on the wolves that
were facing us. But then it was my turn. Jackson’s pack had never seen me shift before and it had definitely never been caught on camera. I was still trying to keep my life a secret. I wanted Jackson to think that I was still dead. And we had no idea if he knew that I was alive or not.
But if he’s watching the news, then he probably did. That was going to kill our plans at a sneak attack on my part. We were going to have to come up with another plan. But I was going to let these bastards have more innocent people. None of these wolves were leaving here alive. So I shifted into my massive pure white wolf that towered over all the other wolves, even
my own warriors and I charged at the enemies.
One came straight for me. I jumped to the left at the last second and sunk my teeth into his neck with such a good grip that he couldn’t get free and I shook until he was dead. I turned as another wolf was charging at me but Cole tackled him to the ground only inches away from me. And I ran to the largest group of werewolves that were trying to kill my warriors.
I plowed through them like they were nothing and that gave my warriors a chance to get their
bearings again as they weren’t overwhelmed with more warriors then they could handle.
One wolf grabbed my back leg while I was fighting off two in front of me and I yelped out and I started fighting back against it as it tried to drag me away and the two in front of me were helping get me away from my pack.
I snapped at one in front of me but he was just out of reach and I dropped to the ground and

force that it flew back against one of the other buildings on the other side of the road and I managed to get back onn my feet and the two wolves in front of me were snarling and coming closer.
I couldn’t put weight on my back leg and I was backing away from the two that were approaching me and I started snapping and snarling at them and suddenly one was being dragged away from me by its tail and it was Cole again. He had grabbed a hold of that one wolf and got it away from me while the other one attacked but I ducked out of the way and dodged the attack.
It crashed into the side of a parked car and as he was lying on the ground I put one front paw straight on his throat so he couldn’t breath and I used my other paw to s***h his throat and chest open. He would die slowly and painfully.
I turned back around and the fighting was coming to an end. Our warriors held up well. Some were injured, but no one died. Not on our side, at least. And Cole came over to me and nudged me with his snout.
He led me back to the van and I shifted back while he grabbed some clothes out of the van that I quickly put on. He also shifted back and put on some shorts and he was looking up at the sky when he heard the drone above us.
“Why are you even here? I thought you were sent somewhere else?” I asked.
“I know that you had plenty of protection. But it didn’t seem right now having me, Beau or Asher with you. One of us three needs to be with you at all times.” He says.
“Ohh. The Alpha’s over protective brother.” I wooed him teasingly.
“Don’t joke. That leg looks pretty bad. We need to get you back to the pack.” He says.
“We’re going back now.” I say. And I look in the back of the van to make sure that everyone is alright.
I get in the passenger side and Bentley gets in the driver’s side and the other warriors shift back and get some clothes on and they get in their cars and we all take off out of that pack. Jackson would come looking for those men. We might have been 20, but we managed to kill 40 of his. He should know by now that it takes more than that to kill us. We aren’t a weak pack. And there’s no way in hell we are going to let them push us around like that. We will fight with everything we’ve got.
We hit the highway in a matter of minutes because Bentley was driving like a lunatic and I yelled at him to slow down. He was scaring the children.
“No. Look at you. That leg isn’t healing. You’re losing a lot of blood.” He says.

“We were supposed to meet Asher at the
gas station up
here.” I say.
“I just mind linked him. They’re in their cars waiting for us to drive by and then they’ll join us on the road. We’re not stopping.” He says.
“You’re overreacting.” I scoffed.
“You’re underreacting.” He yelled at me. And I looked at him like how dare he speak to his Luna like that.” I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled. I just don’t want anything to happen to you. Not like last time.” He says.
“What happened last time? Are you talking about the explosion?” I asked.
“Yeah. I am your guard and you were unconscious for three days because of that. You’re my
responsibility. It’s not happening again.” He demanded.
I saw a bunch of black cars out the front of the gas station but then as soon as we sped past
them they all started up and got on the road behind us.
‘Asher.‘ I say getting his attention in the mindlink.
‘Yeah. Are you alright?‘ He asked.
‘I’ll be fine. Listen, there’s a drone following us. I think reporters or something like that. We
can’t let them know where our pack is.’ I say.
‘I’ll take care of it.’ He says. And I look at the mirror next to my door and I see Asher climb out
the side of his car and sit on the door while holding a rifle.
He kept shooting the gun until he hit the drone and it fell to the ground. And then he climbed
back into the car.
‘Good job.‘ I say.
‘I try.‘ He tells me.
”
Once we are back on packlands others take the new refugees to get them settled in and
Bentley drives me straight to the hospital where the doctor was waiting for me.
Asher beat Bentley to my door and he lifted me out of the car and by then I was feeling really
tired and I didn’t fight him on it.
“Look how pale she is. How much blood has she lost?” Asher yelled.
“Look at the car.” Bentley says. So I look at the car floor where she was sitting and it was drenched in blood. So I ran inside with her and got her on the table where the doctor started working to patch up her leg and hang a couple of bags of blood.

“Is she going to be alright?” Asher asked.
“She will be. I just need to get this skin to hold together so it will start healing.” The doctor
says.
Beau then came to me at the emergency room holding a phone.
“Whoever it is, I don’t want to talk to them.” I insist.
“It’s Jackson.” Beau says. So I took the phone off of him.
“What?” I snapped.
“I want the white wolf.” Jackson demanded.
