CHAPTER 25
ASHER POV
“Why the hell would he take out the werewolf council?” I asked.
“So that he can do whatever he wants with no one stopping him.” I say.
“Werewolves aren’t going to be happy about that.” I say.
“Beau told me that he’s been recruiting. He’s gathering an army. He’s taken out Alpha’s of little packs and then taking over their packs.” Dad explained. That’s everything that Beau was telling him.
“How big has he gotten his pack so far?” I asked him.
“I’m not sure. No one is. He has then scattered everywhere. But they are too scared to go
against him.” Dad says.
“We need to do our own recruiting.” Ivy says.
“What?” I asked.
“Pretty soon his pack will be bigger than this one. And there is no way in hell that we can allow that to happen. If he becomes bigger than us then we are as good as dead. At least most of us will. The rest will be treated as slaves.” I say. And I saw Cole put his arm around
Olivia worried about what was going to happen to her.
“How do we do that?” I asked.
“Do you have any alliances?” Ivy asked.
“A few.” I say.
“Start with them. Get them on your side and make sure that they’re not afraid to go up against Jackson and whatever he is ready to throw at us.” Ivy says. So I head to my office and I grab
the phone immediately,
Everyone already knew about what Jackson had done and my allies were more determined to help me and go against Jackson because of what he had done. He doesn’t deserve to keep going. They all voted that he should be killed on site and I completely agreed with them.
“Asher. Get out here.” I heard my mother yell. So when I got off the phone I went back to the living room and they had the TV on.
There was a human town on the news with people running around trying to escape werewolves and there was even video footage of people turning into werewolves.

CHAPTER 25
“Oh my god.” Ivy sobs out.
“That’s why he took out the council. Now no one can stop him.” Dad says.
“We can. We have to. We can’t let human’s know that werewolves are all bad.” I demand. I
turned to look at Ivy and her eyes were all puffy and her face was red but she turned and walked upstairs.
“She’ll be alright. She’s been through more today than anyone should have gone through.”
Mom says.
I waited for a little while and I got some food and took it up to Ivy’s room and she was laying
on her bed again staring out the window.
She sat up when I walked inside and I put the food on her bedside table.
“I’m not really that hungry.” Ivy says.
“You need to eat. You haven’t eaten in a couple of days.” I say.
“Kinda lost my appetite.” Ivy says.
“I know. Things have been rough.” I say.
“Jackson killed the council and innocent people.” Ivy says.
“I know.” I say.
“I don’t think you do. That man is my f**king father.” Ivy says. And then it dawned on me. I never realized that fully until now. He is her father. She may have been the product of a rape, but he is still her father. She’s gotta be feeling so many things right now.
“My mother, the most loving person on the planet, is dead. While my father, the most horrible person on the planet, is alive and killing people. Where is the f**king sense in that? I can’t make sense of it.” She says looking at me confused.
“I wouldn’t be able to make sense of that either. I didn’t realize. I’m so sorry. But you are nothing like him. Don’t think for one second that you are anything like him.” I say.
“How do you know that’s what I was thinking?” She asked. Sh*t. I could feel it through the bond. The bond that she didn’t know existed.
“I was guessing. I guess, I would be thinking the same thing.” I improvised on the spot.
“Good guess.” She says. And I pull the tray of food onto the bed. I laid down on the other side of the bed and started picking at the food and I turned the TV on and went to one of the movie apps. Not the news. To try and take her mind off of things.

It took a little while but she finally started picking at the food and I put on a light and easy movie to take our mind off of things.
IVY POV
I wasn’t watching TV for long when I heard Alpha Asher slightly snoring so I took the tray of
food and I took it downstairs to the kitchen. And I was starting to head back upstairs when I
stopped and looked at the basement door.
I walked over to it slowly and opened the door. I was instantly hit with the smell of mold and wet dirt but I found the light switch next to the door and I slowly walked down the stairs.

When I got to the bottom I saw cells lining the walls and I started walking between them and I saw one girl in a cell. I think she’s the one that told Alpha Asher he needed to get rid of me. But I walked past her and kept going until I found the cell that I was after.
“Ivy.” Beau said, shocked.
“Why did you do it?” I asked.
“I didn’t have a choice. They grabbed me as soon as I left the territory.” He says.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“They’ve been watching this place for weeks. And as soon as I left they ambushed me. They took me to Jackson and he told me that if I didn’t do what he wanted and if I tried to warn anyone then he had someone else on the inside here that would kill you.” Beau explained.
“So, you’re not the mole. Well, you are but you’re not.” I say.
“I’m not the only one. I was just passing information. The other one is the one that has been leaving those threats for you and has been taking photos of you for Jackson. Following your every move. I told all of this to my dad this afternoon. He knows that they have to look for this other mole.” He says.
“You could have let us know and we would have done anything to make sure that you and I were both safe. You know that your brother would have protected us both.” I say.
“I know that he would have tried. But Jackson has a long reach. I didn’t realize how long a reach he had until I was in his camp.” Beau says.
“Where is this camp?” I asked.
“They’re not there anymore. They moved. Once I got my orders they moved. I had to talk to Jeremiah only. We met on the eastern border because it wasn’t as protected as the others.” He
says.

CHAPTER 25
“Well, it is now.” I say.
“I know. I am telling you the truth when I say that I had no idea what he was going to do to your mother.” He says.
“What else did you tell your father? Because no one has told me anything. Do you know about Jackson’s plans? Did you know that he was going to take out the council? Or that he was going to start attacking civilians?” I asked.
“Absolutely not. He wouldn’t trust me with that sort of information. But it doesn’t surprise me.
The guy is nuts. And I have a feeling that this is just the beginning.” He says.
“Yeah. I get that feeling too.” I say.
“Asher needs to stop him.” He says.
“Well, maybe you should stop fighting him and start trying to work with him.” I say.
“I can’t help it. I get jealous when I see you two together.” He says, putting his head down.
“Well, you’re gonna have to get over that.” I say.
“Tell me about it. There’s a lot that you don’t understand here.” He tells me.
“I’m not an i***t Beau. I know that Asher is my mate.” I admit to him.
“He told you?” Beau asked, shocked.
“He didn’t have to. The bond is growing stronger. He is starting to feel what I feel. And the sparks whenever he touches me. There’s only one thing that does that.” I say.
“Yeah. I guess so. You’re not an idiot.” He says.
“I know that you think you’re protecting me but I don’t need anyone to protect me. I need everyone to tell me what the f**k is going on. I don’t want any more secrets. I want people to hurry up and tell me what is going on. I don’t need everyone protecting me like they always
think they are doing.” I explained.
“Alright. You want to know what is really going on? He doesn’t care about you being his daughter. He wanted to make sure that his mate never finds out about you so that’s why he killed your mother. He still plans to kill you, but he’s got much bigger plans in store.” Beau
explained.
“Like what?” I asked.
“World domination. He plans to be the King, no matter what. To have humans groveling at his feet because he is sick of living in the shadows. It’s time for them to hide in the shadows while we walk free.” Beau says.

CHAPTER 25
“Most werewolves are happy with the way that we live.” I say.
“I know. But he’s not. And it looks like he’s already putting his plan in motion. Be careful Ivy, he will be coming for you at one point. I just don’t know when.” Beau says.
“Does he believe that I have some sort of healing powers?” I asked.
“He knows that you do. He showed me a video of you when you were really little. You somehow healed your mother. She had broken her arm and you healed it. On your own.” He
says.
“I don’t remember doing that.” I say.
“I didn’t think that you did. But apparently it only happened a couple of times and then you
stopped. Jackson believes that your mother convinced you to stop before it got you killed. And she kept you hidden from everyone in case they found out.” Beau explained.
“Is that why he killed her? Not just because he’s my father, but because she suppressed my powers?” I asked.
“I think it’s possible.” He says.
After talking to Beau a lot of things were put into perspective. And I walked upstairs and saw
Declan in the hallway on the second floor of the house when I was heading back to my room.
“Declan.” I say.
“Yes Ivy.” He says.
“I need to ask you a favor.” I said.
“Anything.” He says.
“I need you to teach me how to fight. And not just to protect myself. But to really fight. To go into battle and rip people’s f**king heads off.” I say.
