CHAPTER 15
I didn’t know what to make of Alpha Jackson being here. He couldn’t be here. Not for us. He hates us. Why would he want us to go back to his pack? It made no sense to me. He ordered
his entire pack to shun us, which I didn’t even know. Alpha Asher said that. I thought they just
hated us. But I guess it was more his doing then anything else. You’re not allowed to go
against the Alpha otherwise there are serious consequences. And then a thought suddenly hit
- me.
“My mother.” I said to Alpha Asher.
“I’ll head over to the hospital right now and get her to do the same thing. So that you two are
now both a part of our pack.” He says and I nod my head.
Asher left the office and the principal was sitting behind his desk a little gobsmacked so I just
headed to my class even though I was late. But the teacher knew that I had been called to the
office and I sat down next to Spencer.
“What happened?” She whispered.
“It’s a long story. Don’t worry about it.” I say back not wanting anyone to know until I knew
what the hell was going on.
I hadn’t heard anything for the whole rest of the day and I was nervous all day. I tried to call
my mother but she wouldn’t answer her phone. So as soon as school was out that afternoon I headed to the hospital.
“Mom. Why weren’t you answering your phone?” I asked walking up to her in the hallway.
“Sorry. It’s been really crazy around here. Every time I’ve tried to call you something has happened. Are you alright? I know that Jackson went to your school.” She says.
“Yeah. Luckily Alpha Asher was there. He stopped Jackson from doing whatever the hell he
planned on doing.” I say.
“Good. I’m glad to hear it. I felt your tether break but then when Alpha Asher showed up here
and inducted me into the pack, I felt it reconnect again.” She says.
“Yeah. He made me do it in front of Jackson.” I say.
“Well, it looks like Alpha Asher might actually be the best decision we made.” She says.
“I think so. He barged into the principal’s office and straight out refused to hand us over.” I say.
“I am impressed. I’m so glad that he was there for you.” She says.

CHAPTER 15
“Alright. There’s something else that I need to talk to you about. But it can wait until we get home.” I say.
“Why was the Alpha at the school today?” My mother questioned.
“No idea. He was talking to some teachers when I saw him there. And then he just came to the principal’s office.” I answered. And she looked like she was deep in thought.
“Alright. Did you want to go and see those patients?” She asked.
“Yeah. I’ll go see them. Where are they?” I asked.
“In recovery on the second floor.” She says. So I headed for the stairs and I went upstairs and I
stopped in to see the men that I helped after that Rogue attack and I sat there talking to them.
for a while. I told one of them that I met his son Matthew at school today and he showed me
his thanks for everything that I did.
The man told me that he is a single father. His mate died a couple of years ago in a different
Rogue attack so his son doesn’t take these attacks lightly.
“I am so sorry to hear that. I had no idea. He didn’t mention any of that.” I say.
“No. He wouldn’t have. But that’s why he was so grateful that you were there to help the
injured the other night.” Thomas explains to me.
“Well, if it happens again, you guys know that I’ll be in the emergency room with my mother.” I
say.
“And even though we didn’t like it when we saw you there, we are now happy to be treated by
you.” Thomas says.
“Alright. All you guys get better. I’ll see you guys back on the battlefield in no time.” I say.
I was just leaving that room and walking down the hallway when I saw the head warrior
walking towards me.
“Well, if it’s the hero herself.” Axel says.
“I hate that word. I’m not a hero.” I say.
“Well, you might not think so. My men do.” He says.
“Well, I would rather be out there on the battlefield some days.” I admit.
“Seriously? We could probably arrange to get you into a little bit of training.” He says.
“Are you serious? I do a little training at school. But I’ve only been training for less than two
years. It’s not like your warriors.” I say.

CHAPTER 15
“I know it isn’t. We’d take it easy on you at first. But I’ll talk to the Alpha about it.” He says.
“Thanks. I appreciate that.” I say.
“I owe you one.” He says. And I smiled at him as I walked off.
I said goodbye to my mother before I left and then I headed to a coffee shop to meet Spencer
and she was there with a few other people.
“Ivy. This is Aria and Hannah and Caleb and Evan.” Spencer introduced.
“It’s nice to meet you all. I’ve seen you around school.” I say.
“Yeah. None of us could get close enough though. Not with the Singleton brothers hanging
around.” Caleb say’s.
“Yeah. I didn’t really notice it at first. I guess I’m starting to.” I say.
“We were waiting for you to get here before we ordered.” Spencer says.
“No. You guys should have ordered. I took a lot longer than I thought I would.” I say.
“It’s alright. We don’t mind.” Hannah says.
So we all ordered what we wanted to eat and we were sitting there talking about anything and
everything.
“So, where was your last pack?” Evan asked.
“West Virginia.” I say.
“Wow. This must be a huge adjustment for you then.” He says.
“It definitely is. But this place is really starting to grow on me.” I say.
“Good. We’re not a bad bunch. People think that we are.” He says.
“That’s only because our Alpha has a bad reputation. But that’s not a bad thing. Not many people are game to cross him.” I say. I then saw Cole and Olivia walk into the cafe and they
stopped at our table and Cole eyed everyone that I was with.
“Can I help you?” I asked.
“Yeah. I was just checking in. To make sure that you’re doing alright?” Cole says.
“I’m alright. Have you heard from him?” I asked.
“Nope. We don’t know where he is. He didn’t go to our Aunt’s pack like we thought he would.
Our parents left this morning to try and track him down. I don’t know how that’s going to go.” Cole explained.

“Well, at least they’re trying something.” I say.
“Yeah. I guess so. Just yell out if you need anything.” Cole says.
“I will. Thanks.” I say and they go to sit at their own booth.
“Wow. You really are in with the Alpha family.” Spencer says.
“I was good friends with Beau. And then he decided to disappear on everyone over the weekend. He just left a note apparently and didn’t tell anyone where he was going. Didn’t even
text me to tell me that he was leaving.” I explained.
“That explains why he wasn’t there today.” Evan says.
“Yeah. No one knows where he is.” I say.
I headed home after the cafe and when I got there Mom wasn’t home yet so I went to have a
shower and I got dressed into my pajamas. I sat in my bedroom to start my homework while I
was sitting at the desk and I heard the sirens go off again.
‘Rogues.‘ I heard a warrior yell through the mind link. So I got up and I grabbed my keys and I
ran downstairs and outside to my car.
