“Shut your mouth,” Jenna exclaimed loudly causing heads to turn in our direction. Her face
flushed in embarrassment upon realizing she had become the center of attention in the
restaurant. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so loud. You took me by surprise. How did all this
happen so quickly?”
Bradley and I looked at each other, smiles of happiness on our faces. “Well, after you and I
talked the other day I decided to trust my instincts, and act on the feelings I was beginning to
have for Bradley. Thankfully, he returned my feelings.”
Jenna studied us closely then commented. “I have a feeling there is a lot more to this then
you are telling me.” She then turned to Victor and asked if he knew what was going on.
“Mmmm, I do. But I think it is best discussed in a more private setting.” Victor said in a quiet
voice. “For now though, tell me about yourself. I would love to get to know you.”
We spent the next hour and a half talking, laughing, enjoying amazing food, and shared two
more bottles of wine. Bradley took care of the bill, and by the look on the waiter’s face, he had
tipped generously. Good! Our waiter had provided excellent service and was deserving of
being rewarded.
Since we had all enjoyed a few glasses of the Pinot, I had texted one of the on–call drivers for
Graystone Security. He advised he would be about fifteen minutes and would pick us up in
front of the Historic Properties Shopping Mall on Upper Water Street. That was perfect, as it
allowed us to take our time walking there.
“What about your car, Anna?” inquired Bradley. “Is it safe to leave it in the public parking area
overnight?”
“It is. But I’ll give my set of keys to the driver picking us up. He is bringing another driver with
him who will follow us back to my place.” I giggled before explaining further. “The guys know
that if I need picked up from Salty’s that Jenna and I have been out for a girls night. They know that means we won’t drive afterwards. So they come prepared.”
At this, Jenna too, broke into giggles. The two of us got giddy after a few glasses of wine. We
didn’t usually overindulge, just would get to the silly stage. But once in a while we let loose.
We started telling the guys about a pub crawl we had taken part in during our university days. Jenna could barely tell the tale she was laughing so hard.
We had ended up at The Split Crow Pub where for some reason, a lot of the male patrons were wearing kilts. Jenna had kept asking one brawny guy to show her if it was true they went

commando while dressed in a kilt. He had told her he would show her, but only if she gave him a kiss. Jenna, bold girl that she is, didn’t hesitate and gave him a kiss that would have made a sailor blush. However, we never did find out if the tale was true, because a girl showed up claiming she was his girlfriend and immediately got in our face. Jenna and I took off running
and never looked back.
The
guys looked at each other and grinned, shaking their heads at our antics. Victor then
placed a hand on Jenna’s face and turned it to face him. “How about you demonstrate that
kiss to me? And you don’t have to worry about a girlfriend showing up, because I want to say
she’s already here.”
Jenna gazed up at him and gave him a sly smile before raising her lips to meet his in a kiss
that easily rivaled that one of long ago. The two of them held on to each other as though
never letting go.
I giggled to Bradley, “we may have to call the fire department, ‘cause those two are on fire!”
I must have said it louder than I thought, because both Jenna and Victor clearly heard me,
breaking the kiss, but still holding on to each other. They stood staring into each other’s eyes,
a dazed expression on their faces. It was obvious they felt a connection that went beyond
mere physical attraction.
Jenna cleared her throat and croaked out, “The offer. It’s in my car. We need the offer.” Why
she thought of that at this moment is beyound my comprehension, but that’s what came out
of her mouth.
Bradley and I burst out laughing. Maybe it was the wine, maybe it was the the situation, but
Jenna’s comment struck us funny. Who in the world thinks about paperwork after what must
have been a mind–blowing kiss? Well, apparently Jenna.
“Where did you park? I can have our driver take us there before driving us back to my place.” I had managed to get myself under control enough to think clearly. Might as well see if the driver and his collegue could make a double trip and bring Jenna’s car back to my place too. I
had a feeling she would be staying the night.
“I’m in the Cable Wharf parking lot. Are you sure your driver won’t mind circling around?” she asked hopefully.
“I am positive he will be okay with it. Tim is an easy going guy. I’m sure he perfers to be out driving around rather than sitting in the office waiting for something to happen.” We had reached Upper Water Street and I spotted Tim standing beside the seven passanger vehicle he had brought to pick us up. I talked to him about what we needed and he was more than happy to accommodate.

It was almost eight–thirty by the time we were at my place, with both my, and Jenna’s cars tucked up for the night in the parking garage. Bradley offered to show Victor to the guest room while Jenna and I retreated to my office to sign the paperwork for accepting the buyers bid. I scanned and emailed it to Tony with a note that we would be in touch in the morning.
Tony must have received the email notification as he responded with a suggestion that we all meet at his office at three in the afternoon. Jenna called the buyers and they readily agreed. I
let Tony know it was a go. I did glance at my inbox looking to see if Sean had sent me
anything yer. Unfortunately, he had not. I ignored the little icon that told me I had a number of
emails in the junk email folder. No doubt they were from the vipers, but I would look at them.
on Sunday. I had too much to do to worry about them.
Before we left the office, I gave Jenna a run down of everything that had led up to Bradley and
I deciding to get married, and how, even with everything that had happened since then, we
were still going ahead with the wedding.
“Wow! Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, this is crazy fast. It’s one thing to jump into a
s****l relationship with the guy, but marriage? Why?” Her question wasn’t judgemental. On the
contrary, it was her doing her analysis of the situation to make sure me, the buyer so to speak,
knew what I was getting into.
“I am positive I want to do this. I feel safe with Bradley. I feel protected, and strange as it
sounds, I feel loved. Like I told you on the phone the other day, I am drawn to him in a way I
never imagined could happen. It’s like we’re connected on a level that is beyound lust, desire,
s*x, or any of that. I can see building a life with him, having babies with him.” I sighed. “I know this is crazy fast, but something is telling me I need to do this. So I’m going to.”
Jenna tilted her head a bit as she thought about my words. “Yeah, I kind of understand what
you’re saying. I hate to admit it, but I kind of felt like that when I saw Victor. Boom! And when I
kissed him? I felt like I belonged with him. So, yeah. Crazy.”
“Oh my land, Jenna. I have to tell you. I showed Victor your picture, and he has been obsessing ever since. He kept saying you two should have a double wedding with me and Bradley. He hadn’t even met you and he had it bad!” I was chuckling as I told her this. “I couldn’t help but
think about what my grandmother used to say. ‘Marry in haste, repent at leisure. But what if it’s like her and grandfather? Marry in haste, and build a solid marriage that last for years?”
On that note, Jenna and I left the office and joined the men in the living room. Bradley looked up from where he was sitting on the sofa and gave me a look that made my core tighten in anticipation. I blushed just thinking about sleeping with him again. His slow sexy smile let me know he was fully aware of his effect on me. I returned his smile with one of my own and a
wink.
