CHAPTER 57
“Ivy. I know that we haven’t known each other for that long, but what does that really matter?
When you were gone the only thing I could think about was getting you back. Waking up next
to you every day for the rest of my life. I couldn’t sleep, especially not in our bed. I was
sleeping on the couch in our room because you weren’t there with me. I realized that this is all I want for the rest of my life. To have you and nothing but you by my side for the rest of my
life. So, will you do me the honor of marrying me?” He asked.
“Yes.” I say. And he let out the breath that he was holding and he slipped the ring on my finger
and he pulled me up from the chair and kissed me. He twirled me around while kissing me
and my feet were off the ground. I could feel his relief and happiness through the bond and I
knew that he could tell that I was feeling the exact same way.
“That explains why you were so nervous.” I laughed. And he shook his head.
When we got back to the packhouse that night everyone was waiting for us to get back and
that’s when I realized that I was the only one not in on the surprise. They were all ready to
celebrate.
Spencer ran up and hugged me and demanded to see the ring. He wouldn’t show anyone
before he gave it to me. And Elsie already had bottles of champagne out waiting for us when
we got back.
“Well, this would have been awkward if I said no.” I announced it to everyone. And they started
laughing but Asher pulled me close to his side.
“I knew that you weren’t going to say no.” He says.
“Then why were you so damn nervous through dinner. I knew something was going on.” I say.
“Yeah. That was a little give away, wasn’t it?” He asked.
“Just a little.” I say.
We were walking around talking to everyone and I saw Beau over the room and he was kneeling down talking to Freya. He seemed really interested in the conversation but things still
felt off about the whole situation to me.
I was still feeling off about the whole situation with Freya. I didn’t know what his intentions were. And I wasn’t getting scared but I was getting very curious about it.
“So, when are we planning this big day?” Spencer asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Oh my god. I haven’t even thought about planning the wedding. We just got engaged tonight.”

CHAPTER 57
He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried me over to the bed
and laid me down on top of the bed and he rested his elbows on either side of my face.
He stared down at me for a while, straight into my eyes, with the softest look on his face.
“I love you.” He says.
“I love you too.” I say. And he kissed me again. Passionately. Softly.
He reached down between us and adjusted himself and he thrust into me slowly and wasn’t
rushing it. Neither of us wanted this night to end.
That night was perfect. He was perfect. He was gentle, he was slow, passionate, and instead
of just feeling like we were having s*x, it actually felt like making love. For the first time, it felt
more like making love than it did any other time before.
And falling asleep in his arms that night made the night complete. Made it perfect.
I woke up halfway through the night to get a drink so I got up and I put my robe on and I
opened the door and I saw Beau out in the hallway.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked.
“Oh, nothing.” He says looking nervous like he got caught doing something that he shouldn’t have been doing. But I stepped towards him and I looked around him to see Freya’s door was
slightly open.
So I grabbed Beau by the arm and I dragged him down the two flights of stairs and into the
kitchen.
“Start talking.” I demanded.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He says.
“Bullshit. I’ve seen the way you’ve been looking at Freya. The way you’ve been hanging around her. What the hell is going on with you. She is 12 years old. She’s not responsible for anything
that her father did.” I insisted.
“Is that what you think this is about?” He asked.
“It isn’t? You’re not pissed at her because her father kidnapped me?” I asked.
“No. Well, yeah. I am pissed that he did that but I’m not taking it out on her.” He says.
“Then you better starting f**king explaining because you are really starting to look like a creep
around my little sister.” I say.
“It’s hard to explain. I don’t know how you will react when you find out.” He says.

CHAPTER 57
“Well, you won’t know until you tell me. Will you?” I insist.
“I guess not. But I don’t know how to tell you.” He says.
“Do I need to get Asher down here?” I asked.
“Hell no. Please don’t do that. Us two are only just starting to talk again.” He pleaded with me.
“Well, start talking then.” I say. And he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“I have absolutely no intentions of hurting Freya. I would never hurt her.” He says.
“Alright. That’s not telling me much.” I say.
“I know that this will make me sound like a creep. But I am not going to do anything with her. I
need you to know that.” He says.
“Now I am getting pissed off.” I said through gritted teeth.
“She’s my mate.” Beau blurted out. And I stood there opening and closing my mouth like a
damn fish or something.
