CHAPTER 128: DARE TO LOVE ME Fairy Godmother
I closed Noah and Alana’s coloring books, admiring how they enjoyed every activity we did daily. I had never seen such calm, well–behaved, and brave children. When they ran and fell, none of them cried; they just got up and started running again. I believed they had inherited their mother’s unstoppable strength. Mr. Garnett was also a man of great character, so these children couldn’t have better genetics from their parents.
I watched them as they talked to each other and entertained themselves with the games they had taken from the boxes. They were precious. I noticed Mrs. Paula walking towards the house’s front door with Mrs. Elise. They looked through one of the windows facing the main entrance. Lately, they had been talking a lot and staying close together, as if they were
keeping a secret. I shrugged it off, as it was none of my business.
“What are we looking at?” Tino approached them from behind and placed himself in the
middle, making both women jump and clutch their chests, which was quite funny and made
me laugh.
“For heaven’s sake, son! Do you want to scare us to death?” Mrs. Paula asked.
“How could you think that? I don’t want you dead. What would I do without you?” He took their
hands, and they smiled at him affectionately. “I was wondering what you were looking at so
intently,” Tino said, looking at both of them and then at the entrance.
“Nothing, dear, nothing. We’re planning some renovations at the entrance, and I was
discussing it with Elise. I was going to talk to you soon to ask for your help as well,” Mrs.
Paula quickly responded.
“Well, I’d be delighted,” he said, placing a hand on his chest. They moved aside, and Tino walked towards the children, always dedicating some time of the day to play with them.
Mr. Russell soon arrived. When Mrs. Paula and Mrs. Elise had moved from where they were, I
frowned, looking at the two women and then at Mr. Russell, who quickly left after greeting
Tino and the children. It was strange.
“I’m going to get something to eat,” I announced to Tino.
“Please do, darling, we’re starving. Bring plenty of everything. Shout if you need my help,” he said cheerfully. Tino ate a lot, just like Ashley and Noah. My goodness, they could eat an
elephant.
I reached the kitchen, and the girls were standing by the door that led to the side exit towards
the garage. I didn’t pay attention and started serving portions of fruit and stuffed pastries on a

tray. I heard the girls giggling flirtatiously and, feeling curious, I turned to look at them.
“He doesn’t need to respect me,” one of them said amidst laughter, and I widened my eyes.
What did she just say?
I moved closer and squeezed between them to see that not far from there, Gavin and Gus, the two security guys, were checking one of the cars. Gus had his shirt sleeves rolled while Gavin was wearing a sleeveless shirt, showing off his muscular arms and back.
“It’s the best part of the day,” one of the girls said.
“Do they do this often?” I asked, pointing at them.
up,
“Yes, we’ve seen every member of the security team parade by,” one of them said without taking her eyes off them.
I stood on tiptoe to get a better view. There was certainly a lot to see.
“I wish one of them would even look at us. They’re so serious,” another girl commented, and I
looked at her, feeling a bit annoyed.
“What are you all looking at?” Tino struck again, but this time we jumped. He squeezed
between us and looked at the object of our concentration.
“Well, look at that,” he said, placing his hands on his hips. “Loli,” he whispered, and the girls looked at me. I awkwardly approached him. “Is that the blonde guy you like so much?” he
asked, and I opened my eyes wide to look at him.
“Don’t try to hide it. I knew it from the moment I arrived,” he whispered to me.
I nodded imperceptibly.
“I knew it, just like I know Mom Pau is up to something,” he stated with a smile, leaving no
doubt.
“The show is over,” Tino clapped his hands, and the girls started to move away.
“Let’s see,” Tino took me by the shoulders and looked at me from head to toe. “I don’t
understand,” he shook his head. “I don’t understand how a pretty girl like you hides under such
boring clothes,” he pointed out, and I scratched my neck, looking at my outfit.
“Alright, we don’t have time, but we’ll make the first move,” he said, moving around the kitchen,
and I wrinkled my nose. What was he trying to say?
“Go, take these drinks to the men. They like attention, trust me,” he handed me a tray with two bottles of water.
“I won’t go. The children…” I quickly said, terrified, and handed the tray back to him.

Tino touched the bridge of his nose.
“Of course, you’ll go, girl, go get him. The children are with Mom Pau. Go before someone else beats you to it,” he pointed to the other girls.
I ran my hands over my pants and swallowed hard.
“Go on, I’ll be watching everything. Smile, you have a beautiful smile,” he handed the tray back to me and gave me a pat on the back, pushing me forward.
My hands trembled as I slowly walked towards them.
“Hello,” I said in Spanish, and both of them turned to look at me.
“I thought you might want something to drink,” I spoke in English, cleared my throat, and
looked at Gavin, who quickly shifted his gaze from my face to the bottle and ignored me
completely.
“You’re very kind…” Gus smiled kindly, waiting for me to give my name.
“Loli,” I smiled shyly.
“Thank you, Loli,” Gus said, and Gavin just nodded.
“You’re welcome,” I gathered the little dignity I had left and turned to head back to the kitchen.
“He ignored me once again. I’ve lost count of how many times! Did you see that?” I said to
Tino as soon as he closed the kitchen door. “I give up,” I placed the tray on the counter. I had to
accept that he would never notice me and move on, even though no one had ever attracted me
like Gavin. But if it wasn’t meant to be, then it wasn’t meant to be.
“I saw it,” he nodded thoughtfully. “What did you say?” he asked the girls who were talking
among themselves, and I didn’t catch what they were saying.
“That Gavin is the son of the owner of the security company,” one of them commented, and I
gaped.
“How can he be the owner’s son?” Tino waved his hands.
“Just as you heard. That’s why he holds the position of chief at such a young age since he
learned everything from a young age,” the girl explained, and Tino and I exchanged looks.
But if he was a rich kid, then he definitely wouldn’t be interested in me.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Tino pointed at me, “and no, I know you’re perfectly capable of winning over Gavin or any other guy. You just need to work on your confidence. I’ll make sure
that man notices you, just as my name is Valentino Ferran. And when he does, you’ll decide what to do with him. I’d make him pay for every slight, but that’s just me. You’ll probably fall

head over heels, and what does it matter? My job will be done.”
“Will you be my fairy godmother?” Tino nodded confidently while I shook my head and laughed, not believing his ramblings. I turned to look at the man I liked so much and went back to doing my job.
