CHAPTER 45
ASHER POV
“When are we leaving?” Beau asked.
“Just take it easy. We have to be smart about this.” I say.
“What the hell is wrong with you? We have their trail. We need to keep following it before we lose it. Do you want to lose Ivy?” Beau yelled at me.
“She is my f**king mate. Of course not. I would never want to lose her. What the hell is your problem?” I yelled at him.
“You’re sitting here doing nothing.” Beau yelled.
“I am waiting for Carter to come back. He’s gone to see his people. I think he’s bringing them
back with him. They are helping and we are all going after Jackson together.
“How many men does he have?” Cole asked.
“I don’t know. That’s what I have to wait and see. If he has enough men to scare Jackson and
actually make a difference against his pack then we will go after them. Otherwise, we need to
recruit.” I say sitting on the couch in the living room. Spencer was sitting next to Cole and he
put his arm around her while she quietly sobbed to herself.
“No one blames you for this Spencer. You tried to stop her. We all know that if she made up
her mind to go then there was nothing going to stop her.” Cole says comforting her.
“Spencer. I don’t blame you for her leaving. It’s like Cole said. She made up her mind and there
was no stopping her. She was a bit like that. She does whatever the hell she wants.” Asher
says.
“I just want her back. She’s the best friend I’ve ever had.” Spencer sobbed.
“Oh please. You barely knew her.” Beau barked at her.
“I didn’t have any friends at school, remember. No one liked me and she was nice to me. When
you left town we became friends. And we just got closer from there.” Spencer says.
“Is this going to be a problem Beau?” I asked glaring at him.
“What?” He spits at me.
“You still being in love with my mate?” I asked. And all eyes looked at Beau.
“I’m not still in love with her.” He says lowering his voice.

“Yes, you are. Everyone can see it. I’ve just ignored it until now. But is it going to be a problem? Because the mate bond is pretty well set in stone now. We’re just waiting for her 18th birthday. And I know that she will be back for it.” I say.
“That’s in a week. She won’t be back in a week. We have no idea where she is.” Beau says.
“You didn’t answer my question.” I say.
“I said that I wasn’t in love with Ivy.” Beau says.
“I don’t believe you. No one here does.” I say. And Beau looks at Cole. But Cole looks away from Beau.
“You believe what Asher is saying too? You’re my twin brother and you always have his back
before mine.” Beau screamed at Cole.
“Because you think more with your d**k then your brain.” Cole snapped back.
“I don’t think with my d**k when it comes to Ivy. She’s too good for Asher.” Beau yelled. And I stood up and lunged at him, pinning him against the wall.
“What the f**k is that meant to mean?” I screamed in his face.
“Gee, I don’t know man–w***e. Probably because you’ve stuck your d**k in every woman that
looks your way. She is nothing like you. She was perfect until you got your filthy f**king hands
on her.” Beau spat at me.
“You weren’t f**king perfect either brother. You slept with your share of women before she
came along.” I yelled.
“Still, not as many as you.” Beau says.
“It’s not my fault I’ve got an extra 7 years on you. You will have just as many f**k buddies as
me at this age. I feel sorry for your mate when she finally shows up. She definitely deserves
better than you. Whoever the hell she is.” I said. And he took a swing at me but I grabbed his
arm and swung it around behind his back and pinned him against the wall with his face
pressed into the wall.
“I want you out of my packhouse. Right now. And when Ivy gets back, you’re not coming
anywhere near her. That is an Alpha command. You stay the f**k away from my Luna.” I demanded. I finally let him go and he turned to look at me and no one was standing up for
him. So he grabbed his coat and he stormed out of the house and we heard him get in his car
and take off.
“Was that necessary?” Mom asked.
“It had to be done. If he can be around my mate without drooling over her then he can come

back. But until he learns to respect me and my mate and the fact that she is mine, then he’s not welcome here.” I demanded going to my office and slamming the door shut.
IVY POV
I was still sitting in my little prison and occasionally I could hear those beasts growling outside and they would get my nerves going again. I didn’t know why they were growling at, or who they were growling at. But I was getting paranoid that they would burst through the door
at any moment to kill me.
The door eventually opened again and a guy walked inside with a tray of food and he sat it on
the bedside table.
He then sat on the chair in the corner of my room and I sat on my bed staring at him.
“Are you just going to sit there and watch me eat?” I asked.
“I was told to make sure that you eat it all and then take the equipment back downstairs.” He
says. And I looked at the tray.
“Right. The knife and fork, right. Is he really that scared of me?” I asked, c*****g my head to
the side.
“I don’t know. I just work here. And this isn’t exactly the work detail that I wanted.” He says.
And I looked him in the eye after saying that and I could tell that he was telling the truth.
So I started eating the food, but I would smell it first. I knew what wolfsbane and silver smelt
like. So I was making sure that there were no traces of it in my food. And when I couldn’t smell
anything then I would proceed to eat.
“You got a name?” I asked.
“Adam.” He says. “You don’t need to worry about the food. I made it myself. I didn’t poison
you.” He insists.
“Well, a girl in my position can’t be too careful now, can I?” I asked.
“I guess not.” He says. And then I started squirming on the bed, getting this really
uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. I didn’t know what it was, but I hated it.
“Are you sure you didn’t do anything to the food?” I asked.
“Positive. What’s wrong?” He asked, leaning forward.
“I don’t know. I just suddenly felt sick.” I say. And then my mind went somewhere else. I wasn’t seeing Adam or that room anymore. I was looking at the living room of my old packhouse.
Asher had Beau pinned against a wall.

CHAPTER 45
“Ivy is too good for you.” Beau says to Asher.
“I want you to leave this packhouse and never come back. Not until you can respect me and my mate. Get out and don’t come back.” Asher demands.
I was then ripped back to the room that I was in and Adam was kneeling right in front of me.
“Hey, Ivy. Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. I guess I just spaced out.” I say.
“What happened?” He asked.
“I don’t know. That was weird.” I say.
“Did you see something just then?” He asked.
“No. Just darkness. That’s what was weird.” I lied to him. I definitely wasn’t going to tell him. the truth. I saw a vision of my mate. And if that was an actual vision of something that was actually happening, I might be able to use that to my advantage. But then I thought about what I saw. Asher kicked Beau out of the packhouse. His own brother. What the hell was going on back there.
“Alright. Just don’t do that again. You scared me. I almost got Jackson.” He says.
“Don’t get Jackson. He’ll think too much into it.” I say.
“I know. And don’t do it in front of Jackson. He will definitely think that there is something different about you.” Adam says.
“Why are you warning me against your own Alpha?” I asked.
“Because he’s not my Alpha. He killed my Alpha. And I don’t have a choice to be here.” He
says.
“You’re one of the abducted.” I say.
“I think my family got away. But I’m not sure.” He says.
“There’s a chance that they’re at my pack. We’ve been taking in hundreds of refugees. They’ve
been hearing that we are a safe camp. We’re not with Jackson. And they’ve been coming to us
after they’ve escaped an attack.” I explained.
“Well, I really hope that they are there.” He says.
“Me too. If they are, I’ll get you back to them.” I say.
“You can’t promise me that.” He says.
“I can try and get you back there.” I say smirking at him.

“That’s a little better.” He says.
I then had renewed hope. I had an ally in this camp. Maybe I could get more forced warriors
on my side and we could fight our way out. I know that’s a long shot, but who knows. I was
starting to get a couple of ideas in my head. Of course they were suicidal ideas, but at least
they were ideas. That meant that there was hope.
