CHAPTER 117: DARE TO LOVE ME Do you have a sister?
Ashley
I had had a few crazy days with the work at T–World, and now I was working on designing the new collection, which excited me a lot. This was what I lived for; design was very important, the most relevant thing in my life. Little by little, I would let go of T–World. I was sure the
engineers would be able to handle everything on their own, and that the movements of the
Garnett family were on the right track. I saw no reason to believe they could play dirty with Alaia. It seemed they were just as interested in fulfilling the project as we were, but we could
not let our guard down.
Lately, whenever we had to work together, William drove me in his car. This way, we were able
to get even more done during the day. I hadn’t returned to the gym; the truth was, I had had a
really bad time last time, so no, even though all the handsome guys gathered there, I preferred
my maintenance training at home, which I was already used to. We didn’t train like beasts;
rather, we maintained our forms like the precious ladies we were.
The previous weekend, Alaia’s presentation meeting with the city’s businessmen had taken
place. I admitted that William had behaved appropriately, and no matter how much I tried to
stay away from him, it was strange, it was like a magnet attracted us. Although he insisted on introducing me to girls, he was a hardhead.
I received an email from Frank’s company informing us that they had delivered our huge order.
Wow, this guy acted fast.
“I hope to see you again when I return to Los Angeles. I enjoyed meeting you; you are a
charming guy.
Frank.”
His note made me laugh, and William turned to look at me.
“What?” I questioned when he raised his eyebrow.
“I thought you needed my help, but I see you don’t. You made a good impression on Joy; she’s asked about you lately through Jessie,” he commented, and I smiled thinking about that girl.
She was nice, a bit crazy, but nice.
“Well, not everything is about muscles,” I smiled.
Will inhaled and nodded, agreeing with a smirk on his lips.
“It could work with her,” he said. Yes, it was perfect, let’s see if he would leave me alone.

William turned his face.
“Think about it, a girl like her and an inexperienced young man like me, we’d be perfect for each other,” I said. Let’s see if he would stop trying to train me for the whole virginity thing.
“Are you sure?” he furrowed his brows.
“Sure, I could bet that some girls, a few,” I said thinking of myself, “would love to be with a man who hasn’t slept with half the city, instead of an expert.” I looked at him, tilting my smile.
“Touché, low blow,” he shook his head and laughed. I pursed my lips to avoid laughing out loud, as he had caught my indirect hint.
I watched him for a second while he looked serious and drove his car.
“Oh, crap, I have just enough time to go for lunch. Do you mind joining me? It will be quick,” I frowned at his attitude, and I had to say he knew the city’s cuisine very well. The places we had gone to eat had been very good.
I checked the time on my phone and saw that it would take me a while to get home, and at
this rate, I would die of hunger.
“Fine,” I shrugged, and he nodded, changing direction and speeding up a bit.
Ten minutes later, we arrived at a nice neighborhood. The houses were perfectly maintained,
and they all had beautiful gardens. I wrinkled my nose; it didn’t seem like there were any
restaurants there.
He stopped at one of the pretty houses, and an older woman came out, smiling at the car.
I made a face, not understanding anything.
“William, dear,” said the woman, and William smiled widely as he got out of the car.
“Grandma,” he murmured and approached her.
Grandma?
“Oh, I thought you wouldn’t come,” the woman kissed both of her grandson’s cheeks, “but you look so handsome, young man.” She patted his chest affectionately.
“No, the beauty here is you,” William, as charming as ever, kissed her head tenderly and
wrapped her in those strong arms.
“Where’s Grandpa?” he looked at the house.
“He went fishing with his friends; he’ll be back tonight. He sends his love, and you know you

can’t forget his fishing trip in two weeks.”
“I couldn’t,” William’s sweet smile left me a bit disconcerted; it was something I hadn’t seen in him. “Asher, buddy,” he tilted his head, inviting me to get out of the car.
I got out with the certainty that the invitation was to come to lunch with his grandmother. This man was full of surprises.
“Grandma, this is Asher, a friend,” and here we went again with the friend thing.
“Asher, this is my grandmother, my mother’s mother.”
“Oh, hello, dear, a pleasure, I’m Grandma Anne,” she approached to kiss my
cheek.
“What a handsome young man,” she smiled at me, and I nodded politely.
This was very different from what I had seen of his family. Have you seen that image where there are two paths, one dark and scary and the other full of light, flowers, and a rainbow?
Well, this was that, and that’s how William’s two families looked.
“Come in, come in,” she said delightedly and walked ahead of us.
“You forgot to tell me we were coming to have lunch at your grandmother’s,” I pointed out
when she had entered the house.
“I didn’t think it was relevant,” he shrugged, “it’s clear you eat like a trucker, and there’s a lot of
food here,” he said calmly. “Make yourself at home,” he went up the stairs.
I looked around curiously; it was a huge house but maintained the style of traditional houses
in the country. It was very well organized, with a few photos on the walls, and several children
accompanied by some adults. In one of them, I thought I found William as a child. He had
always looked like a handsome boy; surely people saw him and said, that boy will break
hearts when he grows up, and so it had been. I shook my head.
“I already told my grandma to serve you a double portion,” William approached, “I warned her
not to be fooled by your scrawny appearance,” he commented, looking at the photos I had
been looking at a few minutes ago.
“It’s the least you could do since you’ve brought me to a new trap,” I crossed my arms.
“It’s my grandma, I assure you she won’t make you exercise, at least not today,” he tilted his
head and made me laugh.
“We haven’t arrived late,” I heard another voice entering the door, followed by other older
women, all looking like lovely grandmothers.
“Look who we have here, little Will,” they all rushed towards him to give him many kisses and

hugs, which made me smile.
“Come with me, young man, those women are my friends. They come every Wednesday to have an afternoon of chats, and we entertain ourselves with some craft. Today, we’ll bake cakes,” the lady took me by the arm. “William usually joins us whenever he can, which is
often,” she smiled sweetly.
Well, well, the f*ck boy baked cakes.
“You know, my precious daughter and her husband travel constantly. She is a doctor on a
mission, and although she can already retire, she still refuses to do so. Fortunately, she has a
good husband and little Will, who took care of everything after they decided to leave the
shares in his hands,” she said while continuing to move around the kitchen with another
younger woman.
Little Will. I smiled at hearing it.
We had lunch with the lovely ladies, who seemed to have a special affection for Will. Needless to say, they greeted me kindly, and I appreciated it very much.
I saw him laughing with the ladies while playfully flirting with one of them, who was the
youngest of the group.
The grandmothers enjoyed his company.
A while after eating an exquisite lunch, everyone got to work making the cakes. William wore
a beautiful pink apron that surely belonged to his grandmother.
“Oh buddy, the girls will be thrilled to see you dressed like that,” I said, taking a picture of him.
“I’ll kick your ass if that photo sees the light of day,” he pointed at me, and I laughed.
“This is my precious daughter,” Will’s grandmother arrived with a large photo album and sat at the kitchen table next to me. She showed me a blonde woman with blue eyes, identical to
Will’s.
Will’s father was a well–built man, you could tell even from a young age. Of course, he was his
father.
“This is my little Will, here he was a few months old,” she pointed. “I bet you were an adorable baby too,” she looked at me smiling.
“Of course, I was very handsome, Anne,” I assured, and she enjoyed my gestures.
I looked at Will in the photo, who surely didn’t have anything little now.
I talked with Anne and found her to be a charming woman until they invited me to decorate

the cakes.
“Little William, I want to introduce you to my granddaughter, she is a very beautiful young lady,” one of the women spoke.
“Agnes, dear, protect that girl from my grandson,” Anne spoke to her, “this boy doesn’t plan to settle down anytime soon,” the grandmother assured.
I nodded, agreeing, and laughed at feeling William’s incredulous look beside me.
“Mine turned out better than his,” I boasted and Will put a bit of blue frosting on my cake. I
proceeded to ruin his, to his annoyance, and we all laughed.
I was feeling comfortable at this moment with everyone present until it was time to leave.
I hugged all the lovely ladies, who invited me to another afternoon with them, and I accepted because they were a delight.
“Do you have a sister?” Grandma Anne asked. “If she’s like you, I’m sure Will would love to
meet her,” she winked at me.
But grandma!
“If I had one, I wouldn’t want her to meet him,” I said with amusement. She hugged me again
and asked me to come back soon.
I got into William’s car, and we talked about the women I had met this afternoon, about his
parents, and I saw a bit more of him as a person. I was surprised to see what was behind that
womanizer image he showed to his conquests. The car stopped when we arrived at my house.
“I’d love to see your girls again,” I said, referring to the charming grandmothers.
“Don’t tell me they’re your type,” Will joked, and I laughed.
“Why not? They’re beautiful and intelligent,” I assured, and I got out of the car, closed the door, and saw Will smiling. His phone rang, and he said the name he hadn’t stopped saying since she appeared.
“Jessie, sure, I’m on my way.”
I stopped smiling, and something unpleasant settled in my stomach. I walked away from the
car, and saw William saying goodbye.
I turned around to go into the house, making a face, not understanding the reason for my
recent feelings.
