CHAPTER 33
ASHER POV
I got to the hospital in record time and everyone got out of my way as I was running down the hall and around the corner to Ivy’s room. I burst into the room and Beau was standing next to the bed but he was the only one in her room and I saw her turn her head to look at me.
“Asher.” She says with a smile on her face. I let out a breath of relief and I walked over and
hugged her. “You came back to me.” She says.
“I was just about to say the same thing to you.” I said.
“Did you get all the people that you went to save?” She asked.
“I did. Don’t worry about any of that now.” I say pulling back and looking at her. I put my hands
on either side of her face and she was staring back up at me. And I slowly pressed my lips to
hers. She was here. She was back. She kissed me back so softly, so passionately. I didn’t want
this feeling to stop. The sparks that ignited everywhere I touched her. It was addictive. And
then Beau cleared his throat from the other side of the room. So I pulled away with a smile on my face.
“Oh shut up Beau.” Ivy says. And we laughed at her.
“Same old Ivy.” Beau says.
“Good. I wouldn’t want it any other way.” I say. And I looked next to Ivy’s bed to see another one
right next to hers and I looked at Beau.
“Yeah. I did that when you were gone. You’re not going to go home to get any rest so you can sleep here with Ivy. I don’t think anyone with argue with the Alpha.” Beau smirks. And Ivy
chuckles at him.
“Do you remember anything from the accident?” I asked.
“I remember everything. I’m just glad that Beau is okay. If he died then me staying there would
have been for nothing.” She says.
“Still thinking of others. You should have hauled ass out of there.” I say.
“Gee thanks.” Beau says pouting.
“Well, you weren’t hurt anywhere near as bad as her.” I say.
“So. At least she cared enough to try and save me.” Beau says.
“Yeah. I would have left you there to cook.” I say.

“What a great big brother you are.” Beau says.
“Hey, you’re still a prisoner, remember.” I reminded him.
“Oh my god. You two sound like an old married couple. Would you like the two beds instead of me being here?” Ivy says. And I looked down at her and started laughing.
“Sorry baby.” I say.
“He made a mistake. I have forgiven him. I’m sure you can as well.” Ivy says.
“Yeah. I’m working on it. He still betrayed us.” I say.
“Because he was forced to. We know that. Just leave it. Jackson is the real enemy here. Not
your brother.” Ivy says.
“Alright.” I say. The door then opens and I see Elsie, Henry, Cole and Spencer walk inside. They all walked over and hugged Ivy one at a time. I got a little nervous whenever they touched her
in case they hurt her. But she seemed to be alright. It still scared me though.
“Well, you look pretty good for someone who was almost blown to a million pieces.” Cole
says.
“Thanks. You look like hell.” Ivy retorted. And we laughed at that. He hadn’t had much sleep
lately.
I noticed how Spencer and Cole were hanging around each other pretty closely and his
girlfriend wasn’t anywhere to be seen. But no one else thought to ask the question.
“You scared the hell out of me girl. You aren’t allowed to do that.” Spencer says sitting next to
her.
“I know. But how did I know those two psycho’s had a bomb.” Ivy says. “How’s the packhouse?
I imagine it would have done some damage.” She continued.
“It’s already being fixed. You don’t need to worry about that. It will be back to normal by the
time you come home.” Henry says.
“When is that exactly?” Ivy asked.
“I think it might be a good idea if you just stay here for a while first.” Elsie says.
“I guess. But I don’t want to. I need a cigarette.” Ivy says and I laugh at that.
“Perfect time to quit.” I say. And she scoffed at that.
“Yeah right. That ain’t happening.” She said, rolling her eyes at him.
“You can’t blame me for trying.” He says.

CHAPTER 33
IVY POV
Everyone stayed with me for a while but they all had things to do. They were all taking over Alpha and Luna duties while Asher and I were at the hospital. Elsie and Henry knew exactly what to do. They had been doing it for years. So it was no problem for them.
So after they all left Asher pulled the other bed right next to mine and he lied down next to me holding my hand.
“You look exhausted.” I say.
“Yeah. It’s been a long week.” He says.
“I know. And I’m sorry that you had to come home to this. I told you to come back to me but I
wasn’t technically here when you got back.” I say. But he rubbed his hand along the side of my
face.
“You’re here now. That’s all I care about. You’re here with me and that is never going to
change. I’m not leaving you again. I’ll send scouts to collect people from now on.” He says.
“You can’t do that. You’re the Alpha. You’re meant to lead.” I say.
“And that is exactly what I am doing. Leading from the territory. The warriors are here for a
reason.” He says.
“You’re stronger than them. You will never forgive yourself if something happens to them and
you weren’t there to protect them or help them.” I say.
“It’s already decided Ivy. I’m not leaving you again. Besides, you can tell us whether or not
Jackson’s people are trying to gain access to the territory or not.” He says.
“I guess.” I say.
We laid there for a while just talking but I could tell that Asher was getting sleepy and pretty
soon he was softly snoring and I laid there watching him sleep. He actually looked at peace.
He looked like he didn’t have a care in the world at the moment. And it was peaceful watching
him sleep. I could do it all day.
Two days later
I finally got the cast of my leg and it was completely healed with the smallest scar visible and I was able to finally leave the hospital and Asher grabbed my bag and he put his arm around
my waist and we walked out the front to the waiting car.
We drove to the packhouse and I was surprised that there didn’t seem to be any damage to
the house done at all. I walked inside and there were still men inside working but everything
was being fixed. Even the basement. They were fixing the dungeon with the cell’s in it.

CHAPTER 33
We went upstairs and I was about to go into my bedroom but Asher stopped me.
“Um, about that. While you were in the hospital I kind of had people move all of your things into my room.” He said a little sheepishly.
“Wow. Aren’t we a little cocky? What if I don’t want to move into your room?” I asked, teasing him.
“Well, it’s a little too late. It’s already there.” He smiled.
“There’s still a lot of my stuff at my old house. I should go and get the rest of it.” I say.
“Did you want to do that or do you want me to send someone else? I know that it might not be easy going back into that house.” He says.
“I can do it. I need to start packing up my mother’s things anyway.” I say.
So we went to Asher’s room and I started looking around his closet to see where all my stuff was put and everything looked fine where it was. I was happy with everything. And I saw that his bathroom was twice the size of mine. Which really wasn’t fare.
I went and sat on the bed next to where Asher was lying down and he was rubbing my leg with his hand. And I couldn’t stop thinking about him staying behind while sending scouts out to help people in need. I knew that he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if anything happened to his men and he wasn’t there to protect them.
I admit, I hated him going as well in case something happened to him. But he’s the Alpha. It’s always a dangerous job. He needs to protect the whole pack. It’s not something that you can just do, it’s something you’re bred for. He was trained for this his whole life. That’s what makes him a great Alpha. So I needed to do something to make sure that he knew that I would be safe.
We were at war, so technically, no one was safe. We could be attacked at any moment. And the thought that I couldn’t protect myself was really starting to eat at me. I needed to get back to training. And I wasn’t going to slow down either. I needed to train and train hard. I was determined to learn everything that I needed to from the best. From Asher and his head
warrior.
I knew that Asher didn’t want me training again so soon after I got out of hospital but I felt great now. Like nothing happened and I felt like I could handle it. I needed to do this. Not for
Asher, but for myself. And I knew that he could understand that. He could feel it. I knew that he could feel it. Training was going to be my main priority now. I was going to train until I was able to kill anyone that threatened my pack or until it killed me. Whichever came first. At least then I felt like I wasn’t dead weight that Asher had to carry around. That was the worst feeling

of all.
I could feel Asher staring at the back of me. Like his eyes were boring holes into my skull. So he knew that I was tensed up and was thinking about something. He knew that I was planning something. But he didn’t ask me what. I’m guessing he was afraid to know what I was thinking. That’s usually the only reason why people never asked me what I was thinking. And I knew that he wouldn’t like it. But my mind was made up. And I was going to train with or without his permission. I didn’t need his permission. I just needed the training room.
