CHAPTER 79: My wedding
Alaia
I jumped off the high chair and ran to leave the restaurant.
“Send me the bill, Roberto, thank you,” I said before passing through the door and going in
search of a taxi.
My mind was in chaos. Nick’s plan and everything surrounding it, his father was alive, his grandfather was a scoundrel, it was, it was madness. Nick had never stopped loving me and
I… I was about to get married.
When I arrived at the house, I saw through the car window that Tino and Ash were at the entrance. Tino had his hands on his hips and Ash was holding my children.
“Sylvia, please pay for the service,” I requested as I was closing the vehicle door and walked to approach the four who were waiting for me.
“My loves,” I caressed their cheeks and they barely noticed it was me.
“Mommy!” Alana smiled, and both of them threw themselves into my arms. I took them with
me to my room; I needed to clean up properly. I could hear Ash and Tino’s footsteps behind us.
“Mommy’s going to take a bath,” I told them and made their little feet touch the floor.
I entered the bathroom, and a shiver ran through me as I closed my eyes and thought of him, of his hands on my skin, how Nick had worshipped my most sensitive parts with his lips. I rubbed my face, disturbed by what I felt, because my heart had not stopped beating for him. I had been numb until Nick decided to melt my frozen heart.
I finished and wrapped myself in a bathrobe, and as expected, Tino and Ash were sitting on the bed waiting for me.
“Come on, we have all day,” Tino said ironically, “and a flight that leaves in an hour. You’re
lucky it’s your plane and it’s going to wait for you, but we have limited time, my dear,” Tino
crossed his arms.
“We know in which bed that precious and curvy body woke up, and I don’t believe it. You’ve
finally given in to everything that man has done for you. It was about time,” he pointed at me.
“Darling, did you wake up with him, in his bed? Well, he swore it, but I’m not sure of anything,”
Ash said, and I approached the bed.
“Yes,” I answered, remembering everything, and sat heavily between them.

“I told you, Tino pointed at Ash, and she gaped, “he’s waited too long before. I would have given all my entrances to the hunk, since Coldplay,” he shook his hands.
“How refined, how refined, huh?” Ash said.
“How was it?” Tino bounced his bottom on the bed.
“It was the most incredible night I’ve had in a long time,” I sighed and threw myself on the bed.
“Holy mother of God! I’m feeling faint. I knew it, that hunk was hiding enormous charms under those expensive suits,” he simulated a shudder that made us laugh.
“Aly, darling, I don’t want to ruin the moment, but you just spent the night with your ex and
Cedric…” Ash trailed off.
I covered my face in desperation.
“There you go, ruining it. I want Alaia to describe how her night was,” Tino rebutted angrily.
They started arguing while I kept thinking about what I was going to do. I had told Nick I
would resolve it.
“Please, guys,” I said and closed my eyes. “We need to get ready for the trip,” I said after taking a breath and stood up.
“What?! You’re still thinking of getting married?” Tino questioned indignantly. “What are you thinking, Aly? How can you consider this wedding after what happened?” my friend almost
shouted.
“I’m going to resolve it. Now let’s go, or we’ll be late to the airport,” I walked towards the suitcases, leaving them speechless, and made sure everything was in the luggage. Gavin entered when we were ready; he had already brought one of our vans after what happened
yesterday.
I said goodbye to Sylvia and the others.
We got into the vehicle. Tino and Ash looked very confused. I noticed that Loli had changed her attitude towards Gavin. What had I missed?
We boarded my family’s plane, and I looked at the landscape, completely immersed in my thoughts. My children played on me, and I caressed their little faces. Noah made me look at him, and my heart beat slowly as I saw his face, so identical to Nick’s, accompanied by precious childlike features.
Fatigue finally overcame me; I hadn’t slept at all the previous night, for obvious reasons.
‘Darling, we’ve arrived, Tino spoke to me, and I saw that Noah was in his arms, while Alana

was being carried by Loli, and Ash was finishing picking up the children’s toys. I got into the van in zombie mode, hearing the others talk while I could only think about Nick as I headed to
my wedding.
“Daughter,” my mother came out to receive us, “My God, I thought you wouldn’t make it,” she hugged me. Behind her, my father came out, and both of them received the children after greeting me.
“Are you alright?” my mother took my face in her hands.
No, mom, I’m not. I’m about to go crazy.
“Yes, mom,” I smiled slightly and caressed her hands. She let go of me, but I knew she wasn’t
sure about my answer.
We arrived directly at the castle; there wouldn’t be time to go home and then come back here.
Several people were moving around; the wedding was underway.
“The makeup and hair people are already here. Go, daughter, we’ll take care of preparing the
children,” my mother guided me through the beautiful entrance. I nodded.
“I need to talk to Cedric, mom,” I spoke softly, and she nodded.
“Guys, go with Aly, you’ll change in her room.”
“Yes, Mama Pau,” Tino stopped looking at me with narrowed eyes to respond to my mother.
“Holy God, Alaia, this can’t be more real. Can’t you see? You’re going to tie yourself to Cedric,”
he said almost breathlessly.
“Alaia, darling,” Ash took my hands, “you’ve arrived like a zombie, and it seems like you’re
coming to a funeral, not your wedding,” she took my face.
“Guys, please,” I pleaded with apprehension, and they looked at each other. Tino snorted and made a gesture of frustration. I walked ahead of them to the room that had been assigned to
- us.
I took a bath before the makeup girls arrived and was putting on the silk robe that said “bride”
when Cedric knocked on the door.
“Princess,” he approached to kiss my forehead and left some papers on a nightstand in the
room. I watched him do it and looked up at him.
“It’s some work stuff, they delivered it to me at the last minute,” he commented, pointing at
them.
“Everything is ready,” he took my hands, and I fixed my gaze on Cedric’s blue eyes that looked

at me with love. I bit my lip; now everything was clearer to me. I swallowed a lump in my
throat, feeling ready to talk to him.
“Cedric…” I said and lowered my gaze. Before being completely honest with him, I looked
again at the papers my friend–fiancé had brought.
“What is this?” I took them hastily and began to read.
“Legalized contracts of the latest developments, invoices. I haven’t reviewed them yet,” he shrugged. “The launch will be in two or three weeks. We’ll be there in the front row; you’ll accompany me as my wife,” he smiled when I gave him a brief glance.
I read the content of one of them with interest and another piece fell into place in my head.
“Did you want to tell me something?” he took my hands.
“No,” I said in a whisper. Not anymore.
“See you at the altar,” he kissed my hands and left the room.
I took a seat in front of the dresser with my eyes on the papers.
My cousin and best friend entered along with the makeup guy and two other girls who would take care of my hair.
Ash and Tino looked at me, and I could notice the anguish in their gazes.
“Enough, you two,” I pointed at them, “you’ll understand,” I felt my hands sweating and refused to pay attention to what my heart was feeling. I couldn’t listen to it, not now. I had to get married. I closed my eyes.
“It’s the right color,” the guy who was doing my makeup spoke.
“Excuse me?” I came out of my thoughts that were several kilometers away.
“There you are, there you are my dear, thinking about the night you spent with your ex,” Tino spoke in a loud tone and pointed at me. The girls, as well as the makeup artist, were stunned.
I growled at this indiscreet man.
“But come on, go, go to the window, shout it louder so everyone can hear you,” Ash encouraged him, and Tino twisted his expression.
The room felt tense from that moment on.
“Tino, darling, enough,” I told him. He was making me waver, and I didn’t need it; my mind was already disturbed enough.
“Enough of what? Enough what?” he was exasperated. “You’re going to make the biggest

mistake of your life. You’re just like your mother, who gave up being happy because she didn’t
know how to forgive. And look, the hunk has done everything for you, he even almost lost his
life,” he commented in a dramatic tone and brought the back of his hand to his forehead. Ash
looked at me and scratched her neck; I knew she was agreeing with him.
Our companions, whom we had just met, looked at me.
“Stop rubbing salt in the wound, Tino, please,” I spoke seriously.
“There it is, you’re agreeing with me, but it’s okay, I’ll shut up. My mission is to be your friend and support you in everything, even though you’re making a mistake, but I’ll be here to tell you,
told you so,” he closed his eyes and let himself be made up.
I allowed myself to breathe, trying to calm my heartbeats. I felt they weighed in my chest.
They helped me put on the dress, and I looked at my reflection in the full–length mirror in front
of me.
“Beautiful,” the makeup artist opined, and I smiled at him.
My hands were sweating even more, and I closed my eyes, inhaling and exhaling several
times. Ash’s gaze wanted to give me support, but I knew exactly what she was thinking.
“It’s time, miss,” the organizer entered the room.
