CHAPTER 065
As soon as we got downstairs my mother walked over and hugged me. She looked me over to make sure that I was alright, but then she looked me straight in the face and she could tell that something was wrong. It wasn’t physical, it was emotional. She also knew that this
wasn’t the right time or place to talk about it.
Koda, Tyler and Dean walked over and hugged me again as well. None of them wanted to
leave my side.
“You had us so bloody worried, kid.” Dean said.
“I’m sorry. I know that I should have come home sooner. I wish I could have.” I said.
“It’s alright. You’re home now.” Koda said.
“Yeah. I know. So, where are all these people from?” I asked.
“They’re from all over. Some are going to stay longer and camp in the field like they have been doing. They don’t expect you to see them all today or anything like that. There’s a lot of people here. But we told them that you would want to personally thank them for what they’ve done.” Mom explained.
“I do. I never imagined that so many people would come out like this to look for me.” I said, looking around.
“Well, you’re more loved among the werewolves than you realize.” Dean said.
“And are you guys planning on leaving me again? I think I might have learnt my lesson and I
know what it’s like to be a Queen now.” I said. So Mom chuckled at me.
“No. We’re not going anywhere again. You have proven yourself. And we couldn’t be prouder.” She said, kissing the side of my forehead.
I walked over to a table where a group of women were starting to set up for dinner and they were preparing food to feed all of the wolves that had come here to look for me.
I didn’t even ask if it was alright. I just sat down and started helping them.
I could see that my family and all my friends were looking at me, thinking it was odd that I was helping with menial labor, but I liked it. I had already proven that I wasn’t a freeloader and now I was showing my appreciation for the people that dropped everything and came to
Alaska.
I really didn’t have any words for these people that came to help look for me.

CHAPTER 065
It was so much more than I could have imagined and expected.
They all had to line up to get their food from where we were standing. Since it was like a
smorgasbord instead of individual plates because there were so many people. And I would speak briefly with everyone that came to the table while I was there helping feed them.
I was the last one to get a plate of food and I stood off to the side eating it, while staring at
the forest from where I had emerged when I got back home earlier today.
I don’t know why I was staring at the forest. Well, I did. But I knew that it was stupid and
pathetic of me.
He wasn’t going to abandon his pack for me. There’s no way he could do that. Not after his
family had worked so hard at keeping that pack together for so long. It was too important for
him to stay there.
“Are you alright?” Mom asked, walking up beside me.
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked.
“Because you haven’t eaten much. You keep staring at the forest. And Noah told me about the
lost tribe.” She said.
“I should have known.” I said.
“Don’t be mad at him. I ask him. You haven’t seemed yourself all day. Not since you got back. You seemed like you wanted to be happy that you were back, but you weren’t happy at the same time. Your emotions are all over the place.” She explained.
“You have no idea.”
“Actually, I do. I can feel them.”
“Mom. I know that I did the right thing by coming back here. You don’t need to worry about me.
“I’m not worried because you chose to come back here. You left your mate out there. That’s
what I’m worried about.”
“Well, I did the right thing by leaving him. He can’t leave his pack. I know that he can’t. And I couldn’t leave the castle or the throne or my responsibilities. Not after everything you did to
get the throne back.”
“I know that. But you really fell in love with him in those few short days.”
“Yeah. I did. But that doesn’t mean s**t. I have Noah and I’ve decided that I will give Lucas a chance now that he’s here and he’s trying and he’s not cursed. He deserves a second chance.”

“What about Levi?”
“No. Levi can get f****d. But I’m willing to give Chloe a second chance.”
Mom scoffed when I told her what I thought about Levi, but she wasn’t too surprised. I think she was just surprised that I said it so confidently and straight forward.
“Well, I guess that’s your right.” She said.
“Honestly, I don’t even care about Levi anymore, or what he did. I just don’t care.” I said.
“Emma. Did you and Walker reject each other?” She asked.
“No. I left in the middle of the night. I will know when he’s ready to reject me and I’ll go back there to accept it. That’s the best I can do. Because I know that he won’t reject me yet.” I explained.
“Alright.” She said.
“Just let me deal with it. Please?” I asked.
“I will. Just know that I’ll be here for you whenever you want to talk.’
“I know. Thanks mom.” I said.
I looked over at Noah and he had been watching me but he was also helping a lot of other people set up their campsite and he was looking really busy.
I know that he was upset with me, but his emotions were all over the place and I didn’t know
how I was going to handle this.
He knew that he couldn’t be mad because Walker was also my mate, but so was Noah and
Lucas.
I was closer to Noah because our relationship was a lot closer. I had to get closer to Lucas.
And I had to give him a chance as well.
But Noah’s feelings were what I was more concerned with at the moment. As well as trying to
control my emptiness of not having Walker with me.
When I went back upstairs to the castle, I walked down the long hallway and I went to the
office.
I looked over a few things for a while so I could get back on top of what’s been happening
around here. But after that I walked out of the hallway and I got a coffee from the kitchen and
took it to one of the sitting rooms, sitting at a chair right next to the window, staring at the
massive moon in the sky.

CHAPTER 065
“Emma.” Lucas said, walking into the room.
“Hi.” I said.
“I was wondering where you disappeared to. This place is way too massive.”
“I know. That’s why most of it is closed off. We don’t even go into half of the castle because
we’d never be able to find anyone.” I said.
“Are you alright?” He asked, sitting on the chair in front of me.
“Yeah. Just trying to readjust, I guess.” I said.
“You just helped those people prepare and cook dinner. So, I don’t think many of them actually
want to go home.” He said, making my laugh.
“Well, I guess that’s a good thing.”
“Is that what you did in the lost tribe?”
“Yeah. I wasn’t going to be a freeloader. I helped them with everything.” I said.
“You really got into their culture, didn’t you?” He asked.
“Yeah. Is that a problem?”
“No. But it does explain a lot. Why you seem a little depressed to be home.” He said.
“What? No. I’m not depressed to be home. I just can’t stop thinking about them. It’ll fade, eventually. I just need people to give me a little time.” I said.
“And we will.” Noah said, walking into the room.
“You will?” I asked, skeptically.
“Yes. We will. I’m sorry if I’ve been so weird this afternoon. But it caught me by surprise to find
out that you had another mate. But we’ll give you the space that you need and you know that
I’ll always be here when you need something.” He said, walking over to the chair I was sitting
- in.
He kneeled in front of me while I was on the chair and I put my coffee on the table next to the
chair so I could lean forward and wrap my arms around his neck.
He hugged me back, pulling me as close as he could to his body and I buried my head in his
neck.
“Thank you.” I said.
I felt him kiss my shoulder before he moved his head back.
