CHAPTER 20
“Alpha Jackson.” He says.
“I think that’s why he has her. Because she was going to ruin him.” I say.
“When did you find this?” He asked.
“This morning when I trashed her room and office. There’s a lot of stuff in her office from
Jackson. Threatening letters, a bank statement and bank book where he was depositing
money every month into an account that was in my name. None of it made sense until now. It
was hush money. Because he was the bastard that raped her. And I am the bastard child that
he needs to keep quiet.” I say.
“You’re in more danger than I realized. If he is desperate to make sure that his dirty little secret
doesn’t come out.” He says.
“I know. But we don’t even know where the hell he is. He could be anywhere between here and
West Virginia. And it’s not like I’m his oldest kid. I don’t have any right to his pack. The only
thing he has is that he’s worried I am the proof that he raped my mother.” I say.
“We will find him for that and I will deliver him to the werewolf council myself.” Alpha Asher
says.
“Yeah. You keep saying that. And it keeps losing meaning every time you have to say it.” I
snapped.” S**t. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap like that.” I say when I realized that I just spoke
to the Alpha like that.
“You don’t need to apologize. I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now.” He says.
“I’ll tell you. I am stressed, pissed off, annoyed, irritated and my wolf hasn’t been out since we
got here. She’s clawing inside my head to get out and I can’t stand it. She’s driving me insane.”
I say.
“When was the last time your wolf was let out?” He asked.
“Since before we got here. We went for a run in the woods on the way here. But that was brief.
And I think that was more for mom. She needed to let off some stress and steam.” I say.
“That was a while ago.” He says.
“I know. Not too long but it was still long enough.” I say.
“I encourage everyone to do it at least every couple of days. To shift and go for a good run
through the woods. That’s why we always see wolves in the woods around here that aren’t

patrolling.” Alpha Asher explained.
“Well, I couldn’t do that because I was afraid that your patrol would think that I was an
intruder.” I say.
“Alright. We can make sure the patrols stay on the border at every point and let’s go for a run inside the woods. We’ll be safe and I will stay with you at all times.” He says.
“I don’t think so.” I say.
“Why not?” He asked.
“Because my wolf isn’t like all other wolves. It’s not something that I show a lot of people.” I
say.
“I don’t care what your wolf looks like. You need to let her out. It can’t stay locked up like this, it’s unnatural.” He says.
“Okay. But don’t say that I didn’t warn you.” I say. So Alpha Asher got up and we went outside
and walked straight into the woods.
We walked far enough into the woods that we couldn’t see civilization anymore and Alpha
Asher told the border patrols to stay where they were near the borders. Don’t come into the
territory any further than where they were.
Alpha Asher stripped off his clothes first, since nudity wasn’t a problem with werewolves, and I
heard his bones breaking and rearranging and within seconds he had turned into his huge
magnificent chocolate brown wolf that was the biggest I had ever seen in my life.
Once he was transformed he looked at me with his head tilted to the side and tongue hanging
out and he nudged at my hand.
‘Come on. It’s your turn.‘ I heard through the link.
So I undressed in front of him and I took a couple of deep breaths before I felt my bones breaking and rearranging and it hurt a little more than it did Alpha Asher, but that wasn’t unusual. For some reason, it always hurts. And then I was standing right in front of him. Staring him straight in the eyes. Not looking up at him. I was the same size as him.
I had transformed into my massive pure white wolf with gold tips on it that practically glowed for some reason. My wolf was so unique that I had no answer for why I looked the way that I did. Lilly was proud of the way she looked, and I was too. But I always felt that she might be in danger if people actually found out what she looked like or that they might be afraid because
she was so different.
I saw Alpha Asher take a step back and I was waiting for him to throw me from the pack but

he sat back on his hunches taking me all in. He was looking at me from top to bottom with my piercing blue eyes just finishing off the look.
‘You’re incredible. He says.
‘You’re not scared? I’ve never let anyone see my wolf before because I know that she’s
different.‘ I explained.
‘She is different. But not in a bad way. She’s beautiful.’ He says.
‘She doesn’t have any extra powers if that’s what you’re thinking.” I say.
‘I wasn’t thinking that. I just can’t stop looking at her.‘ He says.
‘Lilly’s happy. She’s finally out.‘ I say.
‘Lilly. I like that.‘ He says.
‘What’s your wolf’s name?‘ I asked.
‘Axel. He’s really happy to finally meet Lilly.‘ Alpha Asher says.
‘Come on. Let’s go. I say as I start running through the woods.
I actually started to forget how keen our senses are as werewolves. They are so much more intune with the earth. The dirt under our paws. The animals in the woods. We could hear everything and our hearing was so much stronger. Same with our eyesight.
We were dodging trees, running through the woods without a care in the world. I could feel Alpha Asher on my heels and that just spurred me on faster. We were playing around. Our wolves were like a couple of puppy dogs. We were loving each other’s company. We were having fun together.
While we were together I forgot that he was the Alpha, I forgot about everything that was going on in my life. I was actually enjoying myself. For the first time in a while, I was having
fun. I was enjoying myself. I forgot what this feeling felt like.
I turned around to see Alpha Asher and he was falling behind and I could tell that he was getting distracted by something. He was mindlinking with someone so I slowed down to a walk but I kept going. I loved it in the woods. And I had been kept out of them for so long that there was no stopping me or Lilly at this point.
I heard something off to the side of me and I assumed that it was Alpha Asher and I kept walking. I figured that he would jump out at me so I was fully prepared for it. I was waiting for him to tackle me and I was on guard. I turned at every little noise to try and stop him from
getting the jump on me.

CHAPTER 20
After a while I realized that he wasn’t the one that was making any noises around me.
‘Asher. Where the hell did you go?‘ I asked. But I got no response. I thought that was really weird. He hadn’t left me out of his sight in days. Why would he suddenly disappear now while I am out in the woods and it’s more dangerous out here.
‘Asher.’ I yelled through the mind link. But still I got no response.
I took a few more steps forward when I felt something weird under my feet. It wasn’t flat ground anymore. There were holes in the ground and in some places it was raised. And that’s when I realized that I was standing in the middle of a net. And then next thing I knew, the sides of it came up and I was trapped in this net when Jeremiah walked out from behind a tree.
“Well, it’s about time we got you.” He smirked at me.
