As soon as we got there we started ordering the nursing staff around and they were all looking at me weird.
“Do what she says. She knows how to do my job as well as I do. She can probably handle
most of these cases coming in on her own.” The mom yelled at the nurses. So they started listening to me and I prepped the second room next to my mother and made sure that it was fully stocked and it was everything that we needed for when the wounded started coming in.
A few nurses stayed behind but the rest were ordered to get to the shelter with the rest of the women and children. Every other abled body that could fight, would be out there fighting
against whoever was attacking us.
It wasn’t long before a man was brought in badly injured by two men. But the men needed to get back to the battle and my mother was treating that man with my assistance until we started getting one after the other, after the other.
So I took one into the room next room and he had deep claw wounds across his chest and was having trouble breathing. I looked at his tags around his neck and I hung a bag of blood that was his type and I grabbed the portable x–ray machine that showed the pictures on the computer screen immediately. He had a punctured lung and he couldn’t breathe properly and because of the chest wounds, it wasn’t healing as fast as it should have been. So I grabbed a blade and I cut down the left side of his ribs and I grabbed a tube and jammed it hard into his side until he was able to breathe normally again.
I then grabbed the staple gun and gave him 250 staples across his chest to close those wounds and give him more of a chance to heal. And I hung an IV with antibiotics in it. If they were Rogues then they could have any sort of infection under their claws. We couldn’t take the
chance.
I taped that hose around his side until my mother was able to get him into surgery. But for right now it was doing the job. And it would keep doing the job until my mother was ready.
One of the nurses moved him to another room and another man was brought into my room.
It didn’t go unnoticed that all these people were naked. When they shift, their clothes shred off them, so obviously they are naked when they shift back. But there is no time to worry about
that.
We had been at the hospital for four hours when we heard that the battle was over but I looked out into the hallway and we were far from finished here. We were full of injured people. But

finally we got some nurses back. And I ordered them to check on the patients that have already been treated. Some of them are waiting for surgery when mom is ready to take them into surgery. They need to stay with those patients.
I looked up at one point and I saw the Alpha standing outside my room looking at me with an indecipherable look on his face. He was just watching me.
They bought the next guy in and I hung a bag of blood and an IV with antibiotics and I treated his leg injury which had already started to heal. But the bone was healing wrong. I apologize to him before I called in two warriors to hold him down and I re–break the bone and then hold it in place while I plaster it up to make sure that it heals in that place. The right place so he wasn’t going to be walking with a permanent limp.
After another three hours in that emergency room we had finally treated all the patients that had come through. But my mother wasn’t finished. She still needed to perform surgery on a few of them. But I went into the hallway and I ripped off my gloves and gown and I sat on one
of the chairs out there.
I felt someone sit next to me and I didn’t need to look over to know who it was. He smelt like
fresh rain. I couldn’t forget that smell.
“That was pretty incredible.” Alpha says.
“Thanks. I’ve been assisting my mother in the surgery for a while now. So I know what I’m doing. You don’t need to be worried if you see me in there.” I say.
“I wasn’t worried when I saw you. I was amazed. You knew exactly what you were doing and
were completely confident in doing it.” He says.
“Yeah. It’s not the first attack like this that I’ve helped out on. Was it a Rogue attack?” I asked.
“Yeah. About 300 of the bastards. Completely took us by surprise.” He says.
“Well, that was just stupid. How many people are in this pack? Did they really think that 300 of them were going to get through?” I asked.
“Apparently they did. They had every intention of attacking and trying to take over the pack. It wasn’t a mistake where they accidentally crossed the border.” He says.
“f*****g idiots. Did we lose anyone?” I asked.
“Thanks to you and your mother, no. We didn’t. A few injuries, but no deaths.” He says.
“Good. I’m glad to hear that.” I say.
“You were really good tonight. I just wanted you to know that.” He says standing up. And at
that moment I was so thankful that he had found some shorts to wear.

“Thank you.” I say and he walked off to some of the warriors standing at the end of the hall.
