CHAPTER 11
BEAU POV
“What the hell are you talking about?” I asked, staring Asher in the eye.
“That’s why I wanted you to keep her safe. Because I don’t want her to know who I am yet. I don’t give a s**t that her mother is a doctor. I needed her here. Not her mother.” Asher
explained.
“Why didn’t you tell me that?” I asked.
“Because I didn’t want anyone to know. And then you started spending too much time together and it was too late. I didn’t know how I was going to separate you two.” Asher says.
“If I knew that she was your mate then I definitely wouldn’t have kissed her. And I promise, that’s as far as it went. How did you even find out that she was your mate?” I asked.
“I went to her pack about two years ago. I saw her. She didn’t see me, she never felt the pull. She didn’t even look at me. But I saw her. That’s why I waited to get her here.” Asher says.
“You need to let her see you. You need to meet her. She’s almost 18. She will start to feel the
pull towards you.” I told him.
“She already has feelings for my brother. How the f**k would that work now. Am I meant to step back and watch you two date?” He asked.
“No. Hell no. I would never come between mates. I do like her a lot. But I will back off knowing that truth now. I will come up with some excuse. I don’t know what. But I am not taking your mate from you. But you need to meet her.” I insist.
“I can’t. I don’t know how she will take me. People think I’m scary when they meet me. I’m too domineering.” Asher says. And I scoff at that.
“Trust me. Ivy won’t be thinking that. And she’ll call you on it if she does think it.” I say.
“She is all I’ve been able to think about for two years. And now she kissed my brother. She
obviously has feelings for you too.” Asher says.
“That’s only because she hasn’t seen you yet. I promise Asher, I will back off. I will come up with some excuse. I will go away for a while.” I say.
“You’re her only friend here.” Asher says.
“I’ve noticed that she’s starting to make other friends. Everything will be fine. Don’t worry about that. And she’ll have you once you finally introduce yourself.” I say.

CHAPTER 11
“This is a f*****g mess.” He says storming out of his room.
I obviously didn’t get any more sleep that night and I was thinking the whole night of what I was going to do. I didn’t know what to do. I really liked Ivy. She’s like nothing I have seen before. But I can’t stand between someone and their mate.
I grabbed my phone and I called my auntie that lived in another pack and asked permission to come and stay with them for a while. She says that she has to ask the Alpha and she will get back to me. But I went into my wardrobe and grabbed a duffle bag and I started putting my
clothes in it.
It was only 5am by the time I finished packing and I knew that everyone was still asleep. So I wrote a note and left it on the fridge and I left the house. I got in my car and I left the packhouse and drove through town.
I slowly drove past Ivy’s house and it was really quiet so I took off and I left town and didn’t look back. I knew that this was best for everyone. I needed to leave. Get out of here while Asher and Ivy sorted everything out.
ASHER POV
I had a shitty night’s sleep that night. I could barely think straight. And every time I closed my eyes I kept seeing my brother with my mate. I didn’t know how the f**k to do this. How was I
going to come between my brother and my mate? When she turns 18 then she will know that she’s my mate and she will feel guilt for the rest of her life because she would have left one man for his brother. Whether it be Beau for me, or if she rejects me to stay with Beau.
I did this. I put them in this situation. I should have known better. I should have told Beau about Ivy being my mate before all of this started. At least then he would have known where
the boundaries laid.
I got up at 7am feeling even more exhausted and I trudged down the stairs to the kitchen where Cole was sitting with our parents.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“When did you get back?” Mom asked.
“Late last night.” I answered.
“Beau’s gone. He left in the middle of the night.” Cole says handing me the note. “He won’t answer his phone.” Cole continued.
I’m sorry that I’m leaving like this but it’s best for everyone if I remove myself from the situation. I didn’t know what was really going on Asher and I am so sorry. I will stay away until

CHAPTER 11
I’m sure that it’s safe to come back. I love you all. Beau.
“What is he talking about?” Dad asked.
“I asked Beau to do something for me but I didn’t give him all of the details and it got out of hand. It’s not Beau’s fault. It’s mine. And I don’t blame him for any of it.” I explained.
“Well, let’s get on the phone and start calling people. Someone has to know something.” Cole says. And we all grabbed our phones and Cole wrote out a list of numbers for us to call because he had all of their friends‘ numbers in his phone.
We didn’t have any luck from people in town so we started calling friends and family in other
packs.
“He called Aunt Emma at 5am this morning asking if he could go there to stay. But when she tried to call him back after checking with the Alpha, he didn’t answer the phone. He hasn’t
called her back.” Cole explained.
“What exactly did you ask him to do?” Dad asked.
“I don’t want to get into it right now. Let’s just bring him home. If anyone gets a hold of him, I
want to talk to him.” I demanded.
By midafternoon we had exhausted all possibilities. We had called everyone that we knew and
no one had seen him. No one knew where he was. And I could tell that mom was getting really
anxious about what was happening.
Someone rang the doorbell so I got up to answer it and the second I opened the door I froze in
place.
“Hi there. I’m Ivy Inglewood.” She introduced herself to me. Her scent was intoxicating. It was like my own personal drug that I just needed to get a taste of. But the longer I stood there staring at her, I noticed her getting more uncomfortable.
“Sorry. I’m Asher Singleton.” I say.
“I am so sorry Alpha.” She says baring her neck to me in respect.
“Oh please. You don’t need to do that.” I say. “What can I do for you?” I asked.
“Well, I was actually looking for Beau. He said that he was going to call this morning and we were going to meet up today. But I haven’t heard from him. I tried to call him a couple of times but it rang out and then went to voicemail. I think he turned his phone off. I just thought it was strange.” She explained. And Cole came to the door.
“Crap. I don’t have your number to call you. He took off in the middle of the night. He left a
note. Did something happen when he dropped you off last night?” Cole asked.

CHAPTER 11
“Yeah. Something happened, but I didn’t think it was a bad thing. Nothing to make him leave
town.” She says looking really upset and disappointed and confused.
“Oh. Well, did he say anything?” Cole asked.
“No. He was fine when he left. At least I thought he was.” She says. “I’ll let you know if I hear
from him. It was really nice to meet you, Alpha.” She says staring straight into my eyes.
“Yep. It was really good to meet you too.” I say trying to hold my breath so I couldn’t smell her scent right now. It was too good for me and I had to control myself.
She turned around and walked down the stairs back to her car and I closed the door.
“That makes no sense. He wouldn’t have left if things were going so good with Ivy. I know that
he had a crush on her. A big crush on her. He would have said something to her.” Cole says.
“Yeah. Well, obviously he didn’t.” I say.
“Are you alright? You don’t look too good.” Cole says.
“I’m fine.” I answer simply before going to my office and closing the door.
I alert the pack to Beau being missing and tell them to keep an eye out or an ear out if he goes
to any other pack where they have friends or family. We wanted to get him back. But this was
just painful right now. I know that he left because of me, but seeing Ivy that close, her eyes
drew me in straight away. I had no idea that they were so mesmerizing up close. And now I
was in an even harder position. Was I upset that he was gone or was I glad that he was gone. I
really didn’t know.
