CHAPTER 8
IVY POV
I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to give him a second chance. I’ve never wanted to give anyone a second chance before. Although, no one has ever begged for a second chance like Beau. Or ever at all. So, I guess I was going to find out if this was a good thing or if it was going to come back and bite me in the ass.
I walked back into the house and up to my bedroom and I heard my mother on the phone in her bedroom. She was talking to someone but even with my advanced werewolf hearing, I couldn’t hear the person on the other end of the phone through the door.
It didn’t sound like work. It sounded like a deep and meaningful conversation. I just hope that she wasn’t talking to the last human boyfriend that she had. That guy was a real drunken douche and I couldn’t stand him. But for some reason she always forgave him whenever he messed up. And he messed up a lot. He cheated on her all the time. He got drunk and beat
down our door once and attacked mom with a knife. If she didn’t have the strength that she
has to fight him off then he would have killed her that night. Everyone knows that.
I went back to my bedroom and closed the door quietly so she didn’t know that I was outside.
Cause I didn’t want to explain anything to her about what happened today and I hated lying to
her. Dinner tonight had been absolutely miserable for me.
I finished what I was doing on the computer and then I turned the light off and I climbed into
bed. Sleep claiming me almost instantly.
The following morning I went for my 6am jog again and then back to the house where I had a
shower and I straightened my hair and I got dressed into a green top with thin straps that
wrapped around my large breasts perfectly but flowed under my breast to the hem of it, jeans
and boots.
I then packed everything into my bag and I went downstairs and I got a cup of coffee.
“You look nice today.” Mom says coming into the kitchen.
“I thought I looked nice yesterday as well. Is this a bad shirt for school? Am I showing too
much tit?” I asked.
“No. They’re covered. You look fine.” She says.
“Okay. Everyone stares at me already anyway because my eyes scream at them too.” I say,
“Stop that. Your eyes are absolutely beautiful. I wish I had eye color like that.” She says.

CHAPTER 8
“Well, you do. Just a little duller. I’m glad I got your blonde hair and blue eyes.” I say.
“How do you know that your father didn’t have those?” She asked.
“I don’t know. I just always assumed he was dark and mysterious.” I say in a sexy kind of way.
“He was anything but those things. Anyway, that’s enough. I have to go. I’ll see you tonight. I’ll probably be late. There’s a woman coming in today and she will probably have to be induced
because her baby doesn’t want to come out on its own.” She says.
“Good luck with that.” I say and she kisses my cheek and she leaves the house.
I looked around the quiet house while I was sitting there with my coffee and I finally couldn’t
resist anymore. So I went out the back with my coffee and I put it on the windowsill while I
pulled out a cigarette and lit it up.
My mother knew that I smoked but it wasn’t all the time. Only when I was feeling stressed or
anxious or something like that. And I was feeling a bit like that. Actually, I’ve been feeling that
ever since we moved here. I was surprised that I could hold off this long before I had one.
I didn’t know what was in store for me today. Whether or not Emma would try any of her
bullshit or not because apparently she’s under Alpha’s orders not to touch me or harrass me in
any way. I still couldn’t believe that happened yesterday. I felt like such a fool. And then I gave
him a second chance. Am I a complete f*****g i***t or what?
When it was finally time to leave for school I gathered my stuff and got in the car and drove to
school and Beau wasn’t lying. He was leaning against his car waiting for me.
So I got out and grabbed my bag and he walked over to me with a smile on his face and he
put his phone away in his pocket.
“Wow. You actually waited in the carpark.” I am amused.
“I told you I would. Tomorrow I might actually pick you up from home.” He says.
“I can drive myself. Besides, if I get pissed at you again then I will have to walk home.”
“I guess so. Alright, I won’t drive you. But you won’t be getting pissed at me anymore. Cross
my heart.” He said, crossing his heart with his fingers and then bowing to me.
“Get up you fool.” I said nudging him.
We walked inside to my locker and we were approached by Cole and Olivia.
“Well, it’s nice to see you two talking again.” Cole says and Beau kicks his leg to make him
shut up.
“You know, a simple mind link to me would work just as well as kicking me all the time.” Cole

snapped at him.
“But then I wouldn’t get to kick you.” Beau says.
“How do you put up with this i***t?” Cole asked.
+8 Point:
“Oh. He’s still on probation.” I say and Cole chuckles. I then see Emma and her friends walking down the hall towards us and the boys turn around to see what I’m looking at.
“She’s not going to do anything.” Beau assures me.
“Doesn’t mean I am ready to turn my back on her yet.” I say.
“I don’t blame you. Not after yesterday.” Olivia said in a friendly tone. Which I was not
expecting. Emma and her friends just passed by and I watched her the whole time before I got my books out of the locker and we started walking up the hallway in the direction that Emma
came from.
I turned around once because I got this weird feeling that someone was watching me. I
thought it might be Emma sneaking up behind me again but when I turned around I couldn’t
see anyone that was paying particular attention to me.
“Are you alright?” Beau asked.
“Yeah. I think so.” I say turning back around and we kept walking to class.
