CHAPTER 10
IVY POV
That day at school went by pretty smoothly. And in the afternoon I was paired up with Spencer again during training. But Beau and Cole were always paired up together. I ignored them yesterday but I paid a little bit of attention today and they were actually pretty comical to watch. They took every cheap shot in the book and acted like true siblings.
Beau ended up getting the last blow when he punched Cole in the crotch and Cole fell to the ground holding himself like they were going to fall off or something. And he turned to me with a huge smile on his face.
When we finished training we headed to the locker room and my locker was right next to Spencer’s and she says that it looks like Beau and I are back on track.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“Everyone thought that you and him were over before you began.” She says.
“We’re not together. We’re friends.” I am confused.
“Oh. The way you two act, you really look like you’re dating. If not, you’re at least headed that
way.” She says.
“He’s a nice guy but I think that might be getting ahead of ourselves. Right now, I’m just not interested in that sort of thing. I just want to be friends.” I say.
“Fare enough.” She says.
We walked out together and Beau was waiting by my car and I talked to him for a little bit but then I headed home and mom was obviously still at work.
I sat in my room and I did my homework and then I did a load of washing and I put it in the dryer. When I was finished doing that I started making dinner and I saw an open letter on the bench. It was a bank statement to an account that I had never heard of. And it was in my
name.
This didn’t make any sense. Mom and I didn’t have any secrets. Why was there a secret bank account open in my name and I saw that money was being deposited from a third party every month for a lot of money. And when I looked at the total of money that was in the account! couldn’t believe what I was seeing. There was so much money in it and I didn’t know where it
was coming from.
I grabbed a notebook and pen and wrote down the account number of the person who was

putting the money into the bank and I folded it up and put it in my pocket.
I then left everything where it was and I finished cooking dinner.
I ate alone again tonight and then I had a shower and I got dressed into my pajamas and I sat
in my room and I turned my computer on.
I did every computer search that I could possibly think of but of course, nothing came up. It was all personal information and they don’t just hand that stuff out. So I reached under my desk and I grabbed a thumb drive and I plugged it into my computer.
I promised my mother that I wouldn’t use this thumb drive again and she thought I got rid of it,
but I guess I have my secrets too.
It was used to scramble the signal so it couldn’t be traced and I hacked into the dark web. I
then typed in the bank account details and I let the computer run through its programs while I
was drinking my cup of coffee.
I thought I heard something rustling in the bushes outside but I stood up and looked out the
window but I couldn’t see anything. So I just assumed that it was an animal or the patrol
guards or something like that.
When the program finished running there was a name flashing on the screen.

Why the f**k is our old Alpha paying my mother money into an account for me when he was
the whole reason she was shunned for his pack in the first place. That man made our lives a
living hell and that’s why we got the hell out of there. We didn’t want anything to do with them.
anymore. And when my mother found out that his children were the main reason I was getting
so badly bullied at school, she’d had enough. She could handle them bullying her but she
wasn’t going to let me put up with the same fate that she had endured. So this made no
sense.
I then started another search on Ethan Jackson but everything I found was stuff that I already
knew because I lived in his pack. It was nothing new to me so I got out of the dark web and I
removed the thumb drive from my computer and I hid it under my desk again using sticky
tape.
I knew that I couldn’t go to my mother with this. She was keeping it from me for a reason. But
I thought that it was really unfair that she kept that secret from me. There was a bank account
with a huge amount of money in it and it was in my name. I started telling myself that she
would tell me when she was ready. But even I knew that wasn’t the case. I knew that wasn’t
going to happen. And I didn’t want to go snooping behind her back. But if I had to, then I

definitely would.
We didn’t keep secrets from each other. And she was keeping a huge one for me. So she only
had herself to blame for this.
That week went by pretty smoothly and on Friday afternoon I had a shower and straightened
my hair and I applied a little bit of makeup. I then got dressed into a black one shoulder top
with a long sleeve and the left side of that shirt stopped at my hip while the other side went down to my knee, denim shorts and black slip on shoes.
Someone rang the doorbell at 6pm so I went downstairs and I opened the door to see Beau standing there staring at me for a while.
“Are you finished gawking?” I asked.
“Oh, sorry. You look great.” He says.
“Thanks. You don’t look too bad yourself. Come on in. I just have to leave my mother a note.” I say inviting him into the house.
I went into the kitchen and I grabbed a notebook and pen.
Didn’t make dinner. Went to the movies and dinner with some friends. I’ll see you tomorrow.
I then grabbed my bag and we left the house and got in Beau’s BMW and we headed towards
town.
We stopped at the movie theater and we met up with Cole and Olivia there and we got our
ticket and then snacks and went into the cinema.
We sat up in the back which was the best seats and Beau’s phone went off and I hit him on
the back of the head.
“The movie hasn’t even started yet.” Beau complained.
“I don’t care. It’s about to.” I say.
“It’s on silent alright. Besides, it was Asher. I need to answer the Alpha.” He says.
“Why did she hit you on the back of the head?” Cole asked.
“She doesn’t like it when I talk during the movie.” Beau pouted.
“You’ll see me doing it every time he opens his mouth.” I
I say.
“Damn. I knew there was a reason I liked you.” Cole says and Beau growls at him.
“What did your brother have to say anyway?” I asked.
“Just checking in. He’s out of town at the moment.” Beau says.

“Oh. I didn’t know that.” I say.
“Yeah. Some Alpha meeting or some s**t like that. I don’t even know anymore.” Beau says.
Beau tried talking about three times during the movie and I hit him over the back of the head
every time which shut him up and Cole and Olivia were trying not to laugh at us. And when the
movie was over we walked out to the footpath.
“I think I’m starting to get a headache.” Beau says.
“Learn to keep your mouth shut then.” I say. And that’s when Cole lost it.
“I’ve never seen anyone able to tame this mutt before.” Cole laughed out loud. And Beau
growled at him.
“No one has ever been able to make him shut up. Not ever.” Olivia says.
“Glad to be of service.” I said smiling.
We went to have dinner after that and then Beau dropped me home and walked me to the door. I noticed that my mother’s car was in the driveway but it was really quiet. So she
probably went to bed already.
“Thanks for tonight. I had a lot of fun.” I say.
“Yeah. It was a good night out.” Beau says. And he stood there awkwardly for a moment
before looking back at me.
“Alright. If I don’t do something right now then I am going to regret it and I will wimp out.” Beau says. And he reached his hands out and cupped my face and he leaned forward and slowly kissed me. And I immediately kissed him back.
He put his hands around my neck and I put my hands on his waist while he was kissing me softly and passionately and I don’t think either of us wanted to break apart. But we eventually
did.
“It’s about time.” I say and he chuckles at that.
“I better get going before my wolf decides to take over. I’ll call you tomorrow.” He says.
“Okay. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” I say. And I unlocked the door and walked inside and I couldn’t contain the huge smile on my face.
BEAU POV
I couldn’t stop smiling the whole way home and when I walked inside I walked upstairs to my
room.

I changed into a pair of shorts and I layed in bed staring at the ceiling reliving the whole
events of what happened tonight and I couldn’t believe that I actually kissed her. I can’t believe that she actually kissed me back. I didn’t know that she had feelings for me. I thought she thought of me as a friend. I guess I was wrong.
I rolled on my side and I stayed there until I drifted off to sleep. But it definitely wasn’t
peaceful.
I was ripped from my sleep at 3am in the morning by getting pulled out of my bed by my hair and I was thrown into the wall. I looked up to see Asher standing over me. He looked haggard and exhausted and he didn’t look like himself.
“What the f**k is your problem?” I yelled at him.
“What did you do with Ivy?” He demanded standing over me.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“What did you do with her? You didn’t have s*x but you did something.” Asher growled.
“How the f**k would you know that we did anything? You weren’t even in town. And why the hell does it matter to you?” I yelled at him standing up.
“Because she is my f*****g mate.” He screamed in my face.
