CHAPTER 7
BEAU POV
I have tried to call Ivy four times tonight and she’s not answering the phone and she ignored me all afternoon at school. I honestly didn’t mean it the way it sounded. Yeah, I wasn’t happy when Asher gave me this task of babysitting the doctor’s daughter but she turned out to be really cool and I like her.
I was sitting in the living room texting to her when Cole sat beside me.
“You really f****d up today.” Cole says.
“You think I don’t know that.” I snapped at him.
“Well, what are you going to do about it? You really made her feel like shit.” Cole says.
“I don’t know what to do. She’s ignored me all afternoon and now she’s not answering any of my calls or texts. I drove past her place before but her mother’s car was in the driveway so I kept going.” I explained.
“Well, you will have a lot of groveling to do tomorrow.” Cole says.
“Who are you groveling up to? It better not be Emma.” Asher says sitting on the other chair in the living room.
“It’s not Emma.” I say.
“But it is Emma’s fault that Ivy isn’t talking to him.” Cole blurted out and I kicked his leg.
“What? Why? What the hell did you do?” Asher growled at me.
“I f****d up. Emma was attacking Ivy and I got in between them and told Emma to f**k off. And I may have told her that it was Alpha’s orders to leave Ivy alone because she’s the doctor’s daughter and we don’t want to lose the doctor.” I admitted. And Asher let out a low menacing growl from his chest.
“I’m sorry Asher. It came out all wrong. I didn’t even mean it that way. I do like Ivy. She’s really cool. She was a good friend. Even if it was just a couple of days. But now she’s not talking to me.” I say.
“She did mention Beau being like every other asshole at school. I think she might have had trouble at her last school.” Cole added.
“I don’t know anything about their lives in their old pack. But you better f*****g fix this Beau. I gave you one job and you screwed it up the second Emma got involved. That b***h has been

nothing but trouble since she walked through the front door of this packhouse.” Asher yelled
at me.
“I know. I will fix it. I just don’t know how.” I say.
“Figure it out.” He spat at me as he pushed up from the chair and stormed out of the room.
“I didn’t expect him to get so pissed off.” Cole says.
“Why the f**k do you think I kicked you when you told him?” I asked.
“Sorry. I knew that he asked you to show her around and stuff. I didn’t realize how serious it
was though.” Cole says. I stand up and grab my keys and I walk out the front door without
saying another word.
I drove near Ivy’s house but parked down the road and I went around the back and I could see her sitting at her desk in her bedroom from where I was standing in the woods. So I threw a
stone at her window but it wasn’t closed and it hit her in the head.
“Ouch. What the f**k?” She yelled, grabbing her forehead.
“S**t, sorry. I thought the window was closed.” I say.
“Haven’t you hit me enough today already?” She asked.
“We need to talk.” I say.
“No, we don’t. Go away.” She said.
“I’m not going anywhere until you talk to me.” I said and she just sat back down. So I sat down leaning against a tree right outside her window. She stood up shaking her head and she walked out of her room.
A few seconds later she came out the back door and I stood up to face her.
“What the f**k do you want now?” She asked.
“I need to explain about today. I was asked to show you around when you first got here. But I didn’t expect to like you as much as I do. I really like you and I don’t want to lose you as a friend. I just said all that s**t to Emma so that she would leave you alone. Because she
wouldn’t have left you alone. She would have made it her mission in life to make your life miserable.” I explained.
“It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve dealt with d**k’s like that. I can handle it. But you made it
sound like you’re just doing it out of duty to your Alpha and brother.” She says.
‘I know. Which is why I am here explaining to you now. If that was true then I wouldn’t be here.
I wouldn’t care how you felt. But I do. Because that’s not how I feel. You’re actually the closest

thing I’ve had to a friend in ages. I can’t even talk to my actual friends like I talk to you. Or mess around with them like I do with you. I don’t want to ruin this friendship because I said something stupid while I was really pissed off at someone else.” I explained. Ivy took a deep
breath in and let it out.
“I didn’t have any friends at my last school. Everyone bullied me. They all hated me. And I hated being there. I thought it was going to be different here. So hearing you say that to Emma, was a real kick in the teeth. Do you understand that?” She asked.
“I do understand that it was a kick in the teeth. I don’t understand why you didn’t have any
friends. You’re a cool chick.” I say.
“That’s a story for another day. But forgiving people is pretty hard for me.” She says.
“I promise that if you forgive me, you will never regret it.” I say.
“I’ve never been asked to give anyone a second chance before.” She says.
“You can rip my heart out if I ever hurt you again.” I say.
“Deal.” She says, looking very serious. Which made me a little nervous. But I accepted it.
“Alright. I’ll meet you in the carpark at school tomorrow morning.” I say.
“Alright.” She says. So I walked away with a smile on my face and I was so relieved that we
were able to work that out. I couldn’t believe that she actually gave me a second chance. But
that just gave me questions about her last school. What the f**k happened there. Why
wouldn’t people want to be friends with Ivy. She’s too cool not to be friends with. And a lot of
laughs.
I didn’t know how I was going to find out, but I was going to figure it out somehow. I just knew
that I had to. Maybe it was something that I could help her with. Because it sounds like it’s
something that had a real effect on her.
