CHAPTER 69: In your dreams!

I exhaled as I left my office, heading to meet Nick before his trip. We needed to coordinate

what will be developed this month. Will and Ash were busy or something was going on with them, so they couldn’t attend the meeting. I haven’t seen the father of my children since last week, which was my birthday, and I decided not to go to his house. Although my mind kept bombarding me with thoughts of what might have happened that night and the countless. times our bodies met when we were married. I remembered my first time with him and the day I got pregnant with twins. I already had an idea of when it happened.

I closed my eyes and pushed those thoughts out of my mind, though they become more

frequent each day, like ghosts you can’t get rid of no matter how hard you try.

I got out of the car and closed the door, realizing I had parked next to the black Rolls–Royce I

scratched some time ago.

“Careful, the boss will rip you apart if you do anything to that car,” commented a man in a

maintenance uniform, pointing at Nick’s Rolls–Royce while another maneuvers an industrial

vacuum. “It was his late father’s, and fixing it costs a year’s salary if I’m not mistaken,” he

added and an unpleasant sensation washed over me for damaging the car that day. I didn’t

know much about his father, only that he died of an illness when Nick was fifteen and that it

was very hard for him. The car must have meant a lot to Nick.

I take the elevator, press the button for the top floor, and glance at the car once more before

the doors close.

I walked towards Nick’s office and found Kathe in her usual spot. “Good morning,” I greeted her

politely.

“Good morning, Miss Russell, please go in,” she said, pointing to the double doors, and I raised an eyebrow. Shouldn’t she inform Nick of my presence?

“Thank you,” I replied and headed towards the office. I opened the door and found Nick looking

at something on his desk. He looked up as soon as he sensed someone had arrived. I noticed

he was wearing a dark blue suit, a white shirt, and a burgundy tie.

“Good morning,” I said, ignoring a tingling sensation in unexpected places.

“Good morning, come in,” he gestured to the seat in front of him and looked me up and down

while leaning back in his fine chair.

He observed my every move.

“I have the list of work orders issued by my engineers. You need to review and organize them with your team,” I said, handing him the folder and sending the file, which they must merge

with their schedule and send to my team.

We started talking and focused on the project, though I couldn’t help but feel his gaze even

when he thought I didn’t notice.

“That’s all,” I said, closing my agenda.

“They need to review the source codes of the latest programs; they’re presenting issues. Log into the system,” he pointed to my laptop, and I proceeded, but it didn’t let me see the codes.

I tried several times, and the same thing happened.

“I can’t get in,” I said, puzzled, and looked up.

Nick pointed to his computer, and I thought about it for a few seconds, mentally sighing. If I couldn’t get in, neither could my engineers, and that was why they hadn’t noticed the problem.

This required a quick solution.

I stood up, smoothed my beige pencil skirt, and walked towards him. He looked at me intently while slightly pushing his chair back. I leaned in and started typing to detect the error,

focusing on it until I managed to get everything working normally.

I smiled, satisfied, and looked at Nick, who was staring at my white blouse. I noticed a crease

had formed at the opening, allowing him to see the skin of my right breast.

I straightened up quickly, at which point Nick stood up, invading my space. Without a word, he captured my lips in a kiss that made me lose my senses so much that I responded to the

movement of his lips. I inhaled through my nose as he sucked on my lower lip, then the upper one, and my tongue. One of his hands held the back of my head, and the other gripped my back, pressing me firmly, preventing any effort to break free, though I was not trying to.

I felt his tongue moistening my parted lips, and that was when I opened my eyes, seeing a

seductive and arrogant smile.

Nick.

“Stop kissing me whenever you feel like it!” I pointed at him, showing my annoyance as my

racing heart returned to its normal pace.

“Stop provoking me,” he said in a husky voice, but his confidence irritated me. Provoking him?!

This man was getting worse.

I tilted my head and remained silent, while an idea circled mind.

So, I clarified that she was the one seducing me. I must say she did it without realizing it. Well, she did until a second ago because she sensually started moving her fingers to show more of
