That afternoon, Luna received a call from Rhett. “There’s a meeting you need to attend. Afterward, send the meeting details to the group.
He had already hung up before she could ask what the meeting was about.
Staring at the darkened screen, she felt speechless. She was about to check the campus forum
to see if any meetings were coming up when she received his forwarded message.
“The 25th Medical Innovation Competition at Velmora Medical School will have its kickoff
meeting on September 27th in the South Auditorium. Please ensure that the student representative from your team attends the meeting.”
So, when Suzie registered, she had filled in Rhett’s number, which was why only he received the message.
Was she being asked to attend as the representative of their team?
Luna couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased.
Back when she was in Wilson’s team, she was never given the chance to represent the team at any events. She was always the one working quietly behind the scenes with no recognition.
But now, things were different.
She was representing Erin’s research team, and this was her first time attending a meeting as the official representative. She definitely couldn’t embarrass the team.
Luna hurriedly started searching through her wardrobe. Her clothes were few and mostly in dark colors.
First, she had no time or money to buy new clothes. Second, Wyatt always said that people in research should be low–key and not waste time on appearances.
He would often tell her that being unattractive would make even the nicest clothes pointless. That sentiment had made her feel deeply insecure, to the point where she wished she could hide in baggy, dull clothes so no one would notice her.
Things were now different. She didn’t want to live quietly in the background anymore! She wanted to look her best and show Wyatt that she wasn’t unattractive–he was a hundred times worse off.

She grabbed her bag and was just about to head out to buy clothes when she ran into Nicole coming through the door.
“Aren’t you free today? Where are you going?”
“I’m going shopping for some clothes.” Luna smiled. Do you want to come with me?”
Nicole’s interest was piqued. “You’re finally buying clothes? We definitely need to bring Jade along–she’s great at picking clothes. She’ll make sure you look better than you ever have!”
Before long, both Jade and Talia had returned. Then, the four of them headed straight for the shopping mall.
