Chapter 14 

It was the third day since Darrell returned to his home country. 

I had just come out of the school library when I saw Alexzander. 

The thin morning mist dissipated, and the sun hung in the sky, but it was still cold. 

I was wearing a coat and a scarf, but I still felt the chill everywhere. 

But Alexzander stood under the tree, wearing only a thin windbreaker. 

He seemed to have lost some weight. 

Perhaps due to the long flight, people also appeared a bit haggard. 

However, it was still outstanding and dazzling. 

Even on a foreign and unfamiliar campus. 

Still attracted the attention of passersby. 

I paused for a moment, hugged the book, and continued walking forward.

“If it’s because of what happened on that adventurous day, Sophia, I can apologize to you.” 

Alexzander grabbed my arm.

I stepped back and withdrew my hand. 

“It’s all in the past.‘ 

“And besides, I had long stopped caring.” 

Alexzander furrowed his brows and asked, “Then why did you choose to study abroad?” 

“This was my own choice.” 

He looked at me, his brows furrowing even deeper, and said, “Alright, going abroad has become a reality and cannot be changed.‘

“I can always take more flights in the future.” 

I was somewhat surprised, “Fly a few more times?” 

“I am a man, of course, it was me who flew all the way to see you…” 

“Wait a minute.” 

I interrupted him and said, “Alexzander, you didn’t have to fly here to see me.” 

“I didn’t have this obligation, and I didn’t need it either.” 

“Sophia, so, are you still angry?” 

“Since you are still angry and care about me, why did you say let it go just now?” 

I almost laughed out of anger. 

“Alexzander, how much clearer do you want me to say it?” 

“I said let it go because I don’t care about that matter anymore, and I don’t care about you either, understand?” 

“What does it mean?” 

“We had broken up a long time ago.” 

I looked at him calmly and said, “Alexzander, now, do you understand?”

He did not go back to his country, instead, he waited for me at school every day 

At first, I ignored him completely, treating him like air. 

But within two days, rumors began to circulate in the school. 

Many people were spreading rumors that I had a very handsome Oriental boyfriend. 

I was afraid that the matter would spread and cause a big commotion, reaching Darrell’s side. 

He would be unhappy. 

After careful consideration, I decided to have a good talk with Alexzander. 

But before I could even speak, Alexzander pulled out a ring. 

“Sophia, I knew what you were thinking in your heart.” 

“Isn’t it just about wanting to get married and seeking security?” 

He held my hand and wanted to put the ring on my finger. 

“We got engaged first, and you can choose whenever you want to get married.” 

“Is this okay?” 

I pulled my hand back forcefully, and the ring also fell onto the table. 

The diamond was big and shiny. 

I did not deny that. When I liked him the most, I had not fantasized about this day. 

But it was a cold war time after time. 

We argued again and again because of the issue of going to bed. 

Again and again, I felt jealous and heartbroken because of other girls. 

And then, I witnessed him kissing that elementary school girl. 

His liking and anticipation for her had long vanished.

“We have already broken up, so please go back and don’t come to me again in the future.” 

Alexzander seemed to suddenly get angry. 

“Sophia, you have been causing trouble for so long, it’s about time to stop.” 

“What you don’t want to do, I won’t force you to do in the future. You want to get married and I also agree to it. What else do you want?” 

“Alexzander, I was already engaged.” 

I looked at him calmly and said, “So, please don’t bother me anymore, okay?” 

Alexzander stared at me for a while and suddenly burst into laughter. 

“Don’t make a fuss, Sophia.” 

“Who did you get engaged to? And who could you get engaged to again?” 

“We just had a fight and gave each other the silent treatment for a few days, and you casually got engaged to someone else?” 

Alexzander looked at me and said, “When did you become so casual?” 

“Believe it or not.” 

“I have said everything that needed to be said.” 

“If you continued to harass me at school, I would call the police.” 

After saying that, I grabbed my bag and turned around to leave. 

Alexzander grabbed my wrist and said, “Sophia, then tell me, who did you get engaged to?” 

He exerted force on his hands, causing me to stagger as he pulled me. 

“How can you say that you talked to me for two years, and even though we broke up, you found 

someone else.” 

“Shall I also watch out for you?” 

“Not necessary.” 

“Was it unnecessary, or simply nonexistent?”

I really felt that he was sick, and he was seriously ill. 

“Alexzander, I wasn’t as bored as you.” 

“Then go ahead and tell me about your fiancé,” 

“Do you really want to know?” 

“Of course,” 

“My ex–girlfriend got engaged, can I not be curious?” 

I raised my hand and pointed to a business magazine on a nearby newspaper rack. 

The person on the cover was indeed Darrell, 

“It was him.” 

Alexzander glanced in the direction I pointed and then smiled. 

“Sophia, you always make up stories just a little bit.” 

“That was Darrell, my dad even had to bow down in front of him.” 

“I said it, it was him, believe it or not.” 

Alexzander’s brows relaxed, and a deeper smile formed at the corners of his lips. “Alright, stop bothering me, Sophia.” 

“We made up and everything is just like before, is that okay?” 

I looked at him with some weakness, feeling that explaining further would only make it more 

ridiculous. 

Without saying another word, he turned around and walked away. 

Alexzander was originally going to chase after me. 

But his phone suddenly rang. 

He changed his expression after saying a few words and quickly got in the car and left. 

I didn’t understand, but I also breathed a sigh of relief. 

After Alexzander left, those rumors quickly disappeared without a trace.

Darrell used to call me and video chat with me on a daily basis, just like before, without any 

difference. 

1 finally let go completely. 

It seems that these jokes did not reach his ears.
