Chapter 109: A Warrior’s Controlled Fury

Chapter 109: A Warrior’s Controlled Fury

(Alexander’s POV

The air in Marcus’s private hunting den was heavy with the metallic scent of blood and silver

It clung to the walls, oppressive and suffocating. My wolf, Steelclaw, surged beneath my skin

howling in barely contained fury. I clenched my fists, willing myself to stay calm as I fully

stepped into the room

Marcus sat with his usual arrogance, lounging in his oversized, ornate chair as though he

were the king of the realm. His violet eyes sparkled with cruel amusement, taking in the scene

like a predator cornering its prey. He showed no sign of unease, no trace of guilt or shame. If

anything, he looked entertained

Ah, General Steele,” he drawled, his tone mockingly polite. He lifted his wine glass lazily, as

though toasting my arrival. How unexpected. Come to fetch our dear future Alpha?”

I didn’t respond at first. My focus shifted briefly to Lucas, who stood just a few feet away

Rage poured off him in waves. His hands trembled at his sides, his claws extended fully, and

his eyes burned with the golden fury of his wolf. The sight of Lucasusually the composed

future Alphaat the edge of losing control spoke volumes of the storm brewing inside him

I turned back to Marcus, keeping my expression as neutral as I could, though every muscle in

my body was tense. Marcus’s smile widened, as though sensing the barely restrained violence

boiling beneath my skin

Lucas,Marcus continued smoothly, ignoring me entirely now, his attention fixed on the man

who had stormed into his den like a raging beast. Your sister provedremarkably resilient.”

The moment he uttered those words, Lucas’s wolf surged forward in a snarl. “Shut your mouth

Blackwood!Lucas snapped, taking a step forward

Marcus didn’t flinch. Instead, his violet eyes glittered with sadistic delight as he leaned back

in his chair, swirling his wine casually. Why the hostility? I’m merely giving you credit where

credit is due. After all, Moon Shadow Prison’s silver chains seemed to have prepared her so

beautifully.”

The words slammed into the room like a sledgehammer. Lucas stiffened, his breathing becoming uneven. His fists clenched tighter as if he might explode at any moment. My jaw tightened as I struggled to keep my white wolf under control

Stop talking,” Lucas growled low, his voice trembling with barely contained rage. Now.”

But Marcus, ever the predator, only smiled wider, his tone dripping with mock sincerity. Of course, Future Alpha. I’m only expressing admiration. She’s provenentertaining to break.”

You bastard!Lucas roared. He lunged forward, his claws aimed for Marcus’s throat

I moved instantly, grabbing Lucas by the shoulder and forcing him back. My grip was

unyielding, my own wolf pressing against his fury to force him to stop. Enough, Lucas,I said

my tone authoritative, leaving no room for argument.‘

Lucas growled, his chest heaving, but he didn’t move to attack again. For the moment, he let

me hold him in place. His golden eyes burned with unrelenting anger, and his wolf snarled

restless protests

Marcus, of course, was entirely unfazed. He reclined further, adjusting his position with the

smugness of someone who knew he was untouchable. Oh, dear,” he said, feigning concern as

he brought the wine glass to his lips. “Did I strike a nerve?”

Lucas’s wolf surged again. I tightened my grip, silently warning him to stand down. But even I

couldn’t deny the fury rising in me as Marcus continued speaking.

She holds up well under pressure,” Marcus went on, his tone light, as though he were

discussing the weather instead of the torture he had inflicted. I owe her resilience to you, Lucas. His violet eyes gleamed with mockery. Your little display with the silver staff at the

Sacred Moon Temple set such asolid foundation for my work.”

Lucas froze at that. His wide, furious eyes locked on Marcus, and for a moment, I saw

something flicker in his gazeguilt

That’s not the same, Lucas spat, his voice shaking. But there was hesitation behind his words, as though even he wasn’t sure what he was trying to convince himself of

No?Marcus tilted his head with a smirk. Does it feel different when it’s someone else

holding the whip, Future Alpha? Or is it because my tools aresharper?”

Lucas’s entire body trembled. His wolf howled with fury, but there was something else mixed

inshame. Deep, crushing shame

I stepped between them then, placing myself squarely in front of Marcus. Steelclaw raged against the constraints of my body, clawing to be released, but I stood firm. Now was not the

time

The moonblessed wine has clouded his judgment,” I said, my voice steady, though it took

everything in me to keep from growling. Consider his outburstan unfortunate effect of his

emotions.”

For a moment, I thought Marcus might push further. His gaze lingered on me, sharp and

calculating. Then, unexpectedly, he smiled, spreading his hands in mock surrender. Of course

”

he said with a low chuckle. How considerate of you, General Steele, to intervene.”

But the glint in his eyes was anything but kind. The concern the future Alpha shows for his

sister istouching,” Marcus murmured, his words carrying an unveiled warning

I clenched my fists behind my back, and my claws scraped painfully against my palms. Steelclaw bristled at the mockery, but I refused to rise to the bait. With years of discipline,

forced myself to lock the fury deep inside

Lucas,” I said, turning to him sharply. We’re leaving. Now.”

Lucas hesitated. He looked like a wolf about to snap, his breathing harsh and erratic, his body trembling with volatility. But eventually, he nodded stiffly. He didn’t trust himself to speak

I kept my hand on Lucas’s shoulder as I steered him toward the exit, needing to keep him. moving before his wolf could surge forward again. Each step away from Marcus’s den felt suffocatingthe scent of blood and silver making my stomach churn

We were almost at the door when Marcus’s voice reached us again. “General Steele,” he called out, his tone singsong and cruel

Slowly, I turned to face him once more. Marcus sat there, his posture relaxed and utterly smug. He raised his glass again, his violet eyes piercing into mine

Your composure is admirable,he said smoothly. Truly, it’s an inspiration for us all.He paused just long enough to let the tension thicken. I look forward to having your mate’s sister in my territory… permanently.”

The words hit me like a cold wave, sending ice through my veins. Steelclaw surged forward with an intensity I hadn’t felt in years, nearly shattering the control I had over him. My hands clenched tighter than ever, the urge to turn back and destroy him nearly overwhelming

But I didn’t

As much as I wanted to rip Marcus apart for the way he spoke about Celestefor the very idea of her being trapped in his territoryI knew I couldn’t. Not here. Not like this

Instead, I turned my back to him without another word, forcing Lucas forward. Every fiber of my being screamed at me to fight, but I couldn’t afford to lose myself now

Chapter 109: A Warrior’s Controll…

Through our fading pack bonds, I could sense Celeste back at the pack house, still unconscious. Her silverburned body bore the marks of Marcus’s cruelty, and the thought alone made Steelclaw snarl with grieflaced rage

I swallowed hard, pushing the emotion down deep as we entered the cold night air, leaving the suffocating den behind us. It wasn’t over. It couldn’t be

My iceblue eyes turned glacial with unspoken fury, and as I clenched my fists tight enough to

draw blood, I made a silent vow

No matter what it took, I would find a way to protect her from Marcus. Even if it cost me

everything
