I took my sister into my office and was surprised to see Kong trailing in after her.
“Hey, get out, boy. Your owners are probably looking for you.”
He looked at me like I was a dumba*s and jumped up on to my office couch. He stared at me
as he slowly laid down, and I swear he curled his lip at me.
“This pup thinks you’re a b*tch,” Lyla chuckled as she sat next to him. He lifted his head up and plopped it down on her lap. She started to pet him and he hummed. That’s what it
sounded like.
“I think he’s a p*ssy chaser. He loves mom too.”
“Well, he’s male, so,” she said, like duh.
I sat behind my desk and looked at her. She looked good. I’ve missed her. I love Resa very
much but Lyla was my first little sister and I have loved her from the moment she was born. She’s always been special to me. Especially when she was growing up. She’s never shown
much emotion. She is very stoic. Her resting b*tch face was frightening. Mom and dad used to be really worried about her. She never laughed, she didn’t cry, she talked very quietly.
A doctor recommended her to get tested for antisocial personality disorder and Papa Butcher had him investigated. When it was found that he was giving out scripts for money, he lost his medical license. Papa B doesn’t take kindly to anyone saying anything negative about his grandchildren, whether it is true or not. Not that I am saying my sister is crazy, because she’d most likely kill me if I did. Am I scared of her? Most definitely. Would I ever admit to it?
Absolutely not.
“How’s life? You said when we talked last week that you needed a break?”
“I’m just a little tired. I need to recharge. I figured seeing family would do that. Plus, now that you’ve informed me about this challenge, I think it’ll be fun to kick all your a*ses.”
I grunted at that, because she would be kicking all of our a*ses.
“So Shawny got himself a girl. What happened to the parasite?”
I chuckled at her nickname for Heather. She’s never liked her.
“Well, shortly after you left, Money and Heather had a falling out. He met a girl and had an

instant connection with her. Heather ruined it, then one night when Money was sh*t faced drunk after telling her that he wanted nothing to do with her over and over again, she took advantage. Luckily, even in his drunken state, he still wrapped it up or else there would probably be a little Dashawn running around. Anyway, fate brought Money and his girl back together, and they hit it off. He’s made her his Old Lady, they’re engaged and now have twins on the way.”
“Fantastic,” she said, with a rare smile.
“Yeah, well, Heather almost f*cked it all up.” I told her about the drugging, on New Year’s. The
look that came over her face froze my blood.
“Did she not know the rule?”
“She did.”
“And why is she still breathing?”
“We’ve known her forever, we thought letting her go was good enough. We ran her out of the
club. She’s never to set foot here again, or it’s her life.”
“Regardless, her life is forfeit. She messed with one of my favorites, and I really like his girl.”
“Lyla, it’s been taken care of.”
“We’ll see.”
I knew from her tone that the discussion was over.
“How long are you going to stay?”
“I’ll most likely stay the whole time and leave when you do.”
I nodded.
“Any other news?”
“Resa and Crush are trying to have a baby. Amberlynn just gave birth to a little girl today. We have a new mechanic. She’s female. Her name is Brittney. She’s kept to herself, and she does know her sh*t when it comes to anything with an engine. Oh, and Shooter and Ciara started
dating.”
A surprised look came over her face.
“I didn’t see that one coming.”
*None of us did. But so far they’ve been having some fun.”

She nodded.
“Where is Joker, Mimic and Shadow?”
“Right, I thought maybe mom would have told you.”
“Told me what?”
“Promise you won’t get mad?”
“No.”
I winced.
“What did you do?”
“What makes you think I did something?”
She just stared at me. I swallowed.
“I may have gone a little crazy the last couple of months. I’m better now, just so you know.
But I’m still working some personal sh*t out.”
“Stop stalling.”
“I got pissed off because Joker wanted to leave and move to Florida. He asked me to ask the Mother Chapter if he could start a Florida Chapter. I refused. He went behind my back and
asked and they said yes. So, I tried to sabotage his and Michelle’s relationship.”
“So, what you’re telling me is that you tried to come between a Lord and his Old Lady?”
She slowly stood. I jumped to my feet. Kong sat up straight. I was sure he felt the tension in the room. She cracked her neck by moving it side to side, and then she cracked her knuckles.
“I apologized, Lyla, we had it out and Joker and I are all good now.”
“And did you apologize to Michelle?”
She was getting closer to me and I had nowhere to go. I held my hands up to block what I
knew was coming at me.
“I did. I gave her a big fat kiss too,” I said, grinning. She snorted.
“So then where is he, and where are my twins? You know d*mn well, they are my favorite.”
“They’re all your favorite, Lyla.*
“That’s right,” she said, with a sinister look.
“They all went to Florida.”

All of a sudden I was on my a*s my lip busted and my left eye throbbing. I didn’t even see her
move. She opened the office door while I gawked at her from the ground. She let out a low
whistle and Kong jumped off the couch. He snuffed at me and walked out before her.
“I already knew they were in Florida. I just wanted you to say it. Stop f*cking up our home. Get
your sh*t together. Oh, and you need to get your girl. I hear she’s in trouble.”
“What?” I yelled, jumping to my feet.
She ignored me and walked out.
“Lyla!” I called out, following her.
She kept walking as I caught up with her.
“What do you know?”
“I know she’s not in New York. I know she’s caught the eye of someone dangerous.”
“Who?”
“A man named Basil Fugati. Do not look him up. You will get flagged. Have mom do it. She’ll
know how to get around without being noticed. You’re too impatient. I don’t know what
happened to her, but she isn’t the same girl that grew up around here. When was the last time
you saw her?”
“Two months ago, but before that it’s been sporadically the last five years.”
“Well, she’s hidden some things that I’m sure no one knew about. Maybe Heather did, but I bet
if she did, she would have blabbed about it.”
“What could Ally have been doing? She’s a good girl, too innocent to do anything bad.”
“Ice, she’s twenty–six years old. I make it a point to know things about the people that hang around my family. She’s not as innocent as you think.”
“What the f*ck is that supposed to mean?“.
“Look, something happened to her five years ago, I don’t know what. But she changed. Did
you ever notice she stopped coming around the club? She hardly came to the parties. She
didn’t even hang out with Heather that much anymore. She only came around once in a blue
moon. I lost touch after I left, stopped keeping an eye on everyone when I went on my
three–year mission. But when I came back, I looked into everyone in the club again, and I
noticed she was missing. I got curious and did some digging. Found out some stuff. Then I went on this last mission and lost touch again on what was going on. I had to rely on the tidbits I got from mom. She did tell me you were losing your way. That’s one of the reasons I

am taking a break. But I am glad you are finding yourself. So, all I’m saying is, once you’re
done with this challenge, find your girl.”
“How do you know how I feel about her?”
She just stared at me, and I rolled my eyes. My sister knew everything. She was scary.
