I can’t stop smiling, as Zander helps wipe the gel off my belly. “You are a little over 12 weeks. That puts your due date roughly around the 28th of December. Don’t take my word for it, Dr. Nox will give you a definite date. Like I said, this isn’t really my area of expertise.” Dr. Willis
says.
“Thank you doc. Stop being so modest, you did a great job just now,” I say and he chuckles.” Well, I will take that, thank you. Contact Cynthia please. For now, you can take these. I will send your medical files to Dr. Nox as well as my findings from today,” Doc says, handing me some pills.
“Lots of rest, water and keep your stress to a minimum. You can’t skip meals now. The baby will be using much of the nutrients you consume, so you need to replenish as much as you can. I know that the situation we are in now is stressful, but you will have to try to manage your stress levels. You are at a crucial stage in your pregnancy, so you have to be careful,” Doc says, and we both nod.
We thanked him and headed to the car. I show Ricardo the picture of the baby, while Zander calls Dr. Nox to set up an appointment. She agreed to see us next week. I heard what Dr. Willis just said, but it will be hard to keep my stress manageable. Martha literally wants to kill me, but I will try for the baby. ‘Our little baby, I thought to myself as I touched my tummy.
I am still floating on a cloud when we get home. That is until I saw Chris waiting for us. This definitely spells trouble, because he has that look on his face. I already know these men so
well. Zander shows him to the office, and we don’t speak until we are all in the office. “What’s
going on?” Zander asks.
“The agents are still tailing Brady, but he went to pick up Keira. They met with some really shady people at a biker’s bar of all places. From the looks of it, they are looking for hired men. We suspect they are going to make a move,” Chris says. “Which bar?” Zander asks.
“The bar that belongs to the Chopper Demons, Chris answers. “Really? And do we know if they took the job?” Zander asks with a big smile on his face. “They are still in there. Why the
hell are you smiling?” Chris asks, frowning. “They won’t take the job, but I do have an idea.
Give me a minute,” Zander says, and we all look at him in confusion.
He takes out his phone and makes a call. “Hey Rebel, it’s Zander Caine. How are you man? How’s your Madre? [mother]” Zander asks, whoever he is calling. Then he starts laughing

before he speaks again. “Your trouble means billable hours for me, so go ahead. But strictly above board,” Zander says, and then he listens to whoever is on the line.
“I need your help this time. There is a couple at your bar hiring your men for a job. Are you there now?” Zander asks and Chris and Ricardo exchange a smirk. What the actual f**k? Is there someone that Zander doesn’t know? “He can’t seriously be talking to someone in that biker gang, can he?” I ask Chris, and he just gives me a wink. “Seems like it,” Ricardo says and chuckles softly.
“f**k man, that’s brilliant. I need you to take the job, and then pull that same con you pulled on Luis.” Zander says, and then he frowns. “I know man, but don’t you always say, ‘family first‘? They are coming after my old lady, and we just found out she is pregnant. I can’t lose them,
man.
We are working with the FBI, but those fuckers changed the rules when they tried to hire you. It’s the same people that killed my parents. We found out it wasn’t an accident.” “Their grandfather killed my grandparents and they blamed us. It’s a long f****d up story. But we need them to lead us to the mastermind, Martha. Her real name is Maria Diaz.” Zander says,
and we just all watch and listen.
“Yes, it’s Liz. And that fucker in your bar is on my security team. We found out he is related to
the Diaz cartel, and he was just a plant.” Zander answers, and then he is quiet for a while.”
Okay, thanks man. I will have you over for dinner when this is all over, so you can meet her. Bring your Madre and Trish,” Zander says, smiling.
“I will keep them out of your hair. Protect yourselves, but no illegal weapons please. I can’t
personally help you if you f**k up, but you know I won’t leave you hanging.” “Yeah, yeah, I hear
you. Thanks again man, I will be in touch,” Zander says and hangs up. “New plan,” he says,
looking at us, and we are all just staring at him, before Chris speaks. “Is that the client you
didn’t want me to look into when I first started to work for you?” Chris asks and Zander nods.
“His name is Jose, but he goes by Rebel. He grew up in the same neighborhood as Rosa, and
she knows his mother, Isa. They ran into some trouble and I helped them out. He is actually a
good man, and he tries to stay on the up and up, but some of his men do more questionable
things,” Zander says.
“I thought you don’t do unsavory clients,” Chris says. “I don’t, their problem was legit. When his
grandfather died, he left everything to Isa. Her sister contested the will and submitted a fake
one. She nearly won the case, until Rosa asked me to help her. So I took over the case and got
all her inheritance back,” Zander says, and I smile.

“Is there anyone you don’t know?” I ask and he chuckles. “Brady and Keira just chose the
wrong gang,” he answers. “I am honestly so glad I didn’t know about your affiliation with them. If I knew, then Brady would know, and we wouldn’t have struck it lucky,” Ricardo says.
“So what’s the plan?” Chris asks, although I can see he already knows. “They will take the job
and once they have eyes on Martha, they will do a double cross. They won’t kill her, they will
leave her to me. I am not sure about Brady and Keira though.
We will have to get agent Perez to play nice and step back. They will never work with any law
enforcement, especially the FBI. I need to make sure that they are protected, because they are
doing this to help me.” Zander says, and we all nod. “Okay, while you call him, I am going to
make lunch. I am starving,” I say, and Zander chuckles and kisses my forehead.
“Congratulations Liz, I was so focused on sharing the news, I forgot to ask how the doctor’s
visit went,” Chris says. I told him what the doc said and showed him the picture, and he looked
at it in fascination. “It looks like a peanut,” he says, turning the picture to all the angels. I just
chuckle and leave the room to get lunch ready.
Robyn came walking into the kitchen while I was making lunch. I am making my version of a
Greek salad and adding in some smoked chicken. “Hey bestie, you are home early,” I say when
she comes to kiss my cheek. “Yeah, I had to take some time off for the sting,” she whispers
and I nod.
“I have some really great news to share. I think you should sit down,” I say, putting down the
knife and wiping my hands. “News that requires me to sit down could only mean a few things.
You already won the lottery, so it’s not that. Either you caught Martha, you got secretly married, you are pregnant, or you are giving me a billion dollars. Either one of those is acceptable,” she answers as she sits down on the kitchen island.
“Well, I will give you a billion if that’s what you want, but first I need to find Mary. We haven’t
found Martha yet, unfortunately. And I would never get married without you there to be my
maid of honor.” I said and waited for her to realize what I hadn’t mentioned.

She looks at me, and I see as realization dawns, because her eyes are as wide as saucers.
Oh. My. God! You are pregnant!” she whisper yells, and I chuckled but showed her to be quiet. “
I am, just over 12 weeks.” I answered. She jumps up and pulls me into her arms gently and
holds me tightly as my tears start falling. They are happy tears, because my bestie finally
knows.
“I am so happy for you,” she sniffs. “Thank you, Robyn, I am so happy.” I sniff out. We both
chuckle when we pull away and wipe our tears. She takes my hand and looks at me. “I am

“We need to go shopping. I have always wanted to go baby shopping with someone. Have you seen the tiny clothes? They’re so cute.” she squeals. “Not yet, we need to keep it quiet for now,”
I say, and she sighs. “When you find that woman, just give me 5 minutes alone with her. That’s
all I need. She will regret messing with my bestie and her man,” she says with a far off look.
“What do you have planned for her?” I ask amused. Knowing her, it’s very graphic. I shudder to
think about what goes on in that mind of hers. “Remember my punishment for Kyle?” “Yes,
word for word, it was quite entertaining, in a messed–up kind of way.” I answer and chuckle.
“Think bigger and much more violent. We will start by cutting off her n*****s, then I will ….”
she starts, and I raise my hands and stop her. “It’s okay, I don’t need visuals. But thank you for
carefully considering the torture you will inflict on my enemies,” I say, laughing. “That’s what a
true bestie will do. It’s my job to help you hide the bodies, and all that…” she says with a wave
of her hand. “Sometimes you really scare me,” I say, and she gives me a wink.
I love this woman. She is the sister I never had and my ride or die for life. By the time we set
the table, the men joined us for lunch. “What did Alvaro say?” I asked. “Took some persuading,
but he is on board. I spoke to Jose again, and he knows exactly what to do.” Zander answered
and I nodded.
I really hope this plan works. I want nothing more than to live my life in peace. But now I am
worried about this biker gang too. They are endangering their lives to help us.
