Chapter 67: A Wolf’s Protective Fury

Chapter 67: A Wolf’s Protective Fury

(Celeste’s POV

The sight of Scarlett’s shimmering, perfect tears triggered something raw and ancient inside

  1. me

For years, I had endured her manipulations, witnessed how she used her fragility as a weapon

She masked her cruelty behind that delicate persona, but this was the final straw

Upsetting Eleanor, knowing how fragile her wolf was? Deliberately pushing her to the brink

with poisonous lies? This wasn’t something I could forgive

My hand moved instinctively, clamping over Scarlett’s mouth before she could utter a single

whimper

Not a sound,I hissed, my voice low and laced with ire. You will not disturb Eleanor’s rest

with your crocodile tears.”

Scarlett’s emerald eyes widened in pure panic, reflecting the fear she hadn’t truly felt before

The realization struck her thenthis time, no one was going to stop me

A sharp strike landed. My palm collided with her cheek, the sound cutting through the tense

silence

Her head snapped to the side, leaving a visible red mark blooming on her pale skin

This,I growled, keeping my voice deadly quiet to avoid disturbing Eleanor, is for every

poisonous word you’ve ever whispered into her ear.”

I didn’t give Scarlett a moment to react before my second strike connected

Her muffled whimper underneath my hand made my wolf snarl possessively. Her tears now

streaming freely only fed into the fire that burned in my chest

For weakening her wolf, for deliberately tormenting her fragile health,I added sharply, leaning

closer. You’ve crossed your final line, Scarlett.”

Victoria’s voice rang from the doorway, panicked and desperate as she rushed toward us

Celeste! Stop this at once!”

Her hands grabbed at my wrist, trying futilely to tug me away from Scarlett. But she lacked strength, her attempts feeling feeble against the storm raging inside me

Chapter 67: A Wolfs Protective F…

*Release your sister!Victoria cried frantically, her wolf’s maternal aura flaring in an attempt to force my submission

I turned my head sharply, glaring at her with violet eyes that glowed in defiance

Sister?I spat, the word dripping with venom. The same sister who has poisoned Eleanor’s mind for her own gain? You call her my sister?”

Victoria flinched at my words, her wolf whining pitifully as her grip on me weakened just slightly

Scarlett squirmed under my hold, her muffled cries spilling through my palm. Though she was still trying to play the victim, I caught the flash of resentment in her emerald eyes

She wasn’t scared of the pain. She was angry that for once, someone was standing against

her

I pulled Scarlett closer, her whimper turning into a soft, muffled plea

And this,I hissed, my grip tightening in her hair as my wolf rose to the surface, is for

Eleanor’s tears. The ones you caused.”

The next strike wasn’t gentle. My fist collided with her jaw hard enough to send a fresh wave of panic through her wolf

Celeste, stop! You’re hurting her!Victoria screamed again, this time more desperate, as she clawed at my arm to no avail

But no amount of pleading would break through the rage coursing through me now

My wolf had been silent long enough, subdued over years of torment, silver chains, and false accusations. I had every intention of letting it roar tonight

Scarlett’s tears seemed endless now, soaking into my hand as her broken sobs filled the space between us

Suddenly, Alpha James’s booming voice echoed down the hallway, interrupting the chaos

ENOUGH!”

His presence filled the space like a thunderstorm, his dominance crashing into the atmosphere like overwhelming waves

The power behind his words stalled the onlookers, making several beta wolves hesitate in

their positions. Lesser wolves in the room instinctively lowered their heads under the weight of his Alpha aura

Chapter 67: A Wolf’s Protective F…

But it didn’t affect me

Anger surged powerfully from deep within me. My wolf snarled inwardly as I resisted the force

of his command with ease

By now, years in Moon Shadow Prison had severed nearly every bond of loyalty I once had to this pack. To me, James was no longer my Alphait was a title he no longer deserved

Guards appeared instantly at his command, their footsteps thundering as they rushed toward

me with clear hesitation

Before they could reach us, another snarl rang out like a beacon of loyalty

Nina

Her silvergray wolf surged out from the shadows of the hallway, her body battered but unwavering. Blood seeped faintly through one of her bandages, but she paid it no mind

She positioned herself squarely in front of the guards, her teeth bared and hackles raised

My lady will not be touched,Nina declared, her sharp voice cutting through the tension with

the weight of steel

The guards faltered, glancing at one another nervously. No one dared risk attacking Nina, not even in her weakened state. Her reputation as one of the fiercest warriors the pack had ever

known still cast too long a shadow

Victoria’s cries grew more frantic

STOP HER! Someone stop her!”

She stumbled forward, hands trembling as she tried again to pry me off Scarlett. To her credit

she was running purely on desperation, though the weight of her maternal wolf aura had long

since lost its effect on me

Scarlett writhed beneath my grip, her muffled cries giving way to short, gasping breaths

You won’t win this time, Scarlett,I growled low in her ear, my voice soft yet laced with power

No amount of tears will save you from this.”

(Third Person’s POV

The scene in the hallway had fully descended into chaos

Nina stood steadfast, her silvergray wolf barring the guardspath, ready to intercept anyone foolish enough to approach. Several betas circled her cautiously, their movements betraying

their fear

Chapter 67: A Wolfs Protective F…

Scarlett, barely able to hold herself together, sobbed against Celeste’s unrelenting grip. Her once carefully crafted image of fragility and grace was crumbling before everyone’s eyes

Meanwhile, Celeste’s strikes landed with both precision and raw fury, each one heavier than

the last. There was no hesitation behind her movements

Among the onlookers stood Betty, the head pack housekeeper. She had emerged silently from her duties, her weathered eyes taking in the unfolding chaos with clear judgment

Betty had served the Winters Pack long enough to know when truth and lies tangled too

deeply within the hierarchy

Watching Celeste’s untamed fury, she didn’t move to intervene. Instead, her sharp gaze drifted

to Scarlett’s bloodied, panicked face

For far too long, Betty had witnessed Scarlett’s manipulations, watched her twist the words of

others and leverage her position in calculated ways

To see someone finally fight back, to see Scarlett’s illusions shattered, brought Betty a grim

sense of satisfaction

Her reflexes, however, quickly sharpened again as her gaze shifted toward Victoria

The Luna was slipping out of the room as quietly as she could, her expression twisted with

desperation. There was something unsettling in the wildness of her wolf’s aura

Minutes passed before Victoria reappeared

When she did, her hands tightly gripped something small and lethal

The ceremonial silver dagger caught the dim hallway light, its blade glinting ominously

It was sharp. Ritualistically blessed. A weapon that carried only one purpose: to end conflicts

decisively

Betty’s heart sank as she realized what Victoria planned to do

Luna Victoria stepped forward, her voice shaking but filled with maternal desperation

Enough!she screamed, raising the dagger high above her head

The noise and movements in the hallway came to a grinding halt, the air thickening with

instant tension

Every pair of eyes turned toward her trembling figure, the sharp edge of the dagger reflecting the fractured bonds that had dragged the Winters Pack to this breaking point
