When we reached the exam center, I took Liz inside and kissed her for good luck. I am so proud of my girl. She is amazing. Ricardo accompanies her inside the exam room and I take a seat in the waiting area. Today, there seem to be more people around, and I don’t want to be
overheard.
I sent Ricardo a quick message to tell him I would be calling Chris from the car. He just sends me a thumbs up, so I head out to the car. I call Chris and he answers immediately. “Hey Chris, I am sorry I checked out last night. Hearing what David said just threw me off my game,” I say.
“I can imagine, man. I was just as shocked. That whole family is f****d up. We didn’t find Martha. I am sorry Zander. There was proof that she was staying at one townhouse and left in a hurry. We also found some of Kyle’s belongings there. That must’ve been where he stayed
when they first teamed up with him.
Agent Perez went to see Tiffany and Elaine because they sent word that they were ready to talk. We don’t know if they are bullshitting, but he would rather hear them out. Kyle was attacked again and this time he ended up in the ICU. It seems someone put a hit out on him.
I don’t have anything else to report, only that we are coming to see you when Liz is done with her exam. Perez wants to run something by you, and he will also fill us in on what happened with Tiff and Elaine,” Chris says. “Thank you, Chris, I am actually impressed that Martha is so
resourceful.
She evaded us for so long, and she successfully conned many into believing this fake persona she created for herself. I have a feeling it will be hard to find her. She is patient and resourceful. She planned all this for years and played the part perfectly. I think we should focus on Keira. She isn’t as smart as Martha, and she is ruled by her emotions.

chuckle.
“You know, I don’t do unsavory clients, that is Que’s area of expertise,” I say, and we both chuckle. Quinton, or Que as we call him, is my firm’s best criminal defense attorney. That man is a shark and damn good at his job. “We have the perfect plan to lure Keira out. She won’t be able to resist. We will swing by later to discuss everything. Don’t worry Zander, we will get

those two,” Chris says.
“I hope so man, I don’t know how many more surprises I can handle. We still have Elaine’s trial coming up and that is going to be hard on Liz,” I say. “Yeah, but she is a tough cookie, she can. handle it,” Chris says. “I know, I just wish I could shield her from everything. I wish we could
run away to a deserted island and stay there forever,” I say, and he chuckles.
“I don’t know about that. You both love us too much to stay away for too long,” he says. “True, I
don’t even know why, but we do.” I say and we both laugh. “See you later man,” I say and hang
- up. I rest my head on the backrest of my seat and close my eyes.
Why can’t this all just be over? Liz and I should be planning our wedding and starting a family.
She deserves to be happy. My phone rings, snapping me out of my thoughts. “Hey Toby, what’s
up?” I ask. “Giselle,” he says with a sigh. “What now? Why can’t these crazy women just leave
me alone? What happened?” I ask.
“She showed up here and made a scene, demanding to see you. I had her removed, but I know
she will be back. She calls for you every day, and she leaves messages that you must contact
her. She said it’s about a client. I don’t know if she is telling the truth, or if it’s some bullshit to
get close to you again. Que said she approached him for your new address, because she
couldn’t get you at home.” Toby says.
“What the f**k is she up to? I will have to meet with her, or she will just keep showing up. If
she calls again, tell her to come to the office at 12pm tomorrow. I will speak to her then. I can’t
have her harassing my staff,” I say. “Will do Zander. Tell Liz to call me when she is done,” Toby says and I chuckle.
“I will, thank you for holding the fort Toby. You better start training someone to be even better than you, so I can give you some of your own cases to work on,” I say, and he chuckles. “I like working on yours. I will let you know when I am ready, Zander. Don’t worry about me, focus on
finding those two nasty bitches.” Toby says, and I burst out laughing.
“You are spending way too much time with Robyn. You are beginning to sound like her,” I say
and he chuckles. “What can I say, she gets me and I get her,” he says. “Does Ricardo know about you two?” I ask, teasing him. “Please, you know I would rather date him than her.
Though he is hot, I see him as more of the big brother type, like you,” Toby says and I chuckle.
“Well, when you do find that perfect person, he will have to get my stamp of approval first and then your dad’s,” I say and he chuckles. “I think I may have found someone that has been right
under my nose for a while, but it’s too early to tell. Zander, I need to go. Someone is trying to
get through. Check your calendar. I made some changes.

You have quite a few meetings for next week, but they are okay with video calls. As long as
they can see you, they are happy. I will speak to you later,” Toby says and hangs up. I smiled
and got out of the car and headed inside to wait for Liz. I remember when Toby came out to
his dad. He was so nervous, but he had my full support.
He had nothing to worry about though. His dad accepted him, and he said that he already knew. He suspected for years, but gave him the space he needed to tell him on his own. I certainly didn’t know, until he told me. Even Liz didn’t know, until he told her.
I dozed off in the chair, because I was so exhausted. I felt someone stroke my cheek, so I
opened my eyes and looked right into Liz’s smiling face. “Hey my Liz. Are you done already?” I
ask. “Yes, I am all done. As much as I want to celebrate, I want to know what you are hiding
from me first,” she says, and I sigh.
“Let’s talk in the car,” I say, and she nods, and we go out to the car. Ricardo drives so I can speak to Liz. I tell her what we learned last night and what Chris said when he called this morning. She was understandably shocked, but she took it surprisingly well. She had many questions, some I could answer and some that bothered me too.
Hopefully David and Martha can answer some of the questions. I just don’t know if they will or if they even know what the truth really is. Their distorted view of things may extend to their storytelling abilities. The ones that know what happened back then to my grandparents are all
dead.
I may never know the truth of why they were killed, and that is okay. I am glad their killer was brought to justice. My parents, however, haven’t received their justice. Not until Martha is behind bars. We already have David and I know he was complicit.
By the time we pull up to the house, Liz knows everything I do, including my meeting with Giselle. She is sitting in on that one, and I just know it’s going to be interesting. Rosa was not herself at all when we came home. She was busy making dinner, but she didn’t even hear us
come in. She got such a fright when I touched her.
I think she is taking this very hard and very personally. Liz managed to get her to agree to a few days off. I already let Dom know what was happening, so he is trying to get some time off to be with Rosa. I would prefer that she stays far away from all the danger and drama.
But with Martha on the loose, I can’t send her home alone. She will have to stay here until Dom gets here. The other staff are all a bit down. I think they all feel betrayed and angry. I can’t give them time off now, it’s not safe. They will have to stay here until it’s safe for them to
leave. Martha’s vendetta has really disrupted so many lives.

While we were all sitting down for dinner, Chris and agent Perez stopped by. Rosa always overcooks, so there was more than enough for them to join us. When dinner was done, Chris, agent Perez, Ricardo, Liz and I went to my office to discuss everything.
“Before we delve into my meeting with Tiffany and Elaine, we want to discuss the plan we have for luring Keira out. I believe if we get Keira, she will lead us to Martha,” agent Perez says. “I agree, what do you have in mind?” I ask. “You publicly announce your engagement.
Obviously, it will be news. The hot bachelor, billionaire lawyer, and the newest billionaire lottery winner. A match made in billionaire heaven,” Chris says with a smirk and I just shake
my head. “Obviously,” I say and he chuckles. “Then what?” Liz asks.
“Then you throw a grand engagement party. Keira is sure to crash it, out of jealousy. She isn’t
very bright, but she is very obsessed with Zander. Even Kyle spoke about it when I interviewed
him. Technically, there is no arrest warrant for Keira. We have no proof that she was complicit.
We won’t capture her, we will place a tracker on her. If all goes according to plan, she will lead us straight to her mom. Then we can charge her with harboring a fugitive and obstruction of
justice. Either way, we will get the information from her. I doubt she will withstand
interrogation.” Agent Perez says and I nod.
It’s a good idea, and it’s about time that I let the world know that Liz is mine. “Are you okay with this?” I ask Liz. “It’s not exactly what I am used to, but let’s do this. I want these people out of our lives,” Liz says and I nod. “Then let’s plan the engagement party of the century,” I say, and Liz rolls her eyes. Now I am curious to know what Elaine and Tiffany had to say.
