“I would love it if you could pick me up. I don’t plan on staying the entire day, I just have some
contracts to check and two clients I have to meet. You are the perfect excuse for me to leave
early.” He says and I smile. “I will be your excuse any day. I will bring lunch for you and Toby,” I
said, and he smiled.
I dropped him off in front of his building, and headed out to handle all my business. Everything at the bank went fairly quickly and easily. They understood my reasons and also pointed out that Kyle asked for the accounts to be closed, and the fund transferred to him. They couldn’t
action it without me, and they tried to get hold of me, but couldn’t.
I did change my number and I didn’t update it with them, so that is kind of my fault. Did that dumb ass really try to get my money? He would just have added to his list of crimes. But judging by what the manager just said, they will be pressing charges of their own. What the f**k is wrong with Kyle?
He must really be desperate. I am glad I had the lottery winnings transferred to a separate account. The DMV took longer than expected, but I left there a very happy woman. I stopped at my favorite diner and picked up some lunch for the guys, before I went to Zander’s office to

The front desk receptionist was her usual bubbly self and sent me right up. Zander must’ve
told her I was coming. When I got out of the elevator, Toby wasn’t at his desk. So, I sat and
waited in the reception area and sent Zander a quick text to let him know I was there with
lunch.
I was scrolling through my phone, setting up my banking app, when someone approached me. “Can I help you?” the guy asked me. “No, it’s okay. I am waiting for Zander. He knows I am
here.” I say and he nods. “Okay, my office is over there if you need anything. I can also help.
with any issues you have,” he says.
“I am actually just bringing Zander and Toby lunch. So, it’s a personal visit,” I said, and he
chuckled. “Then you must be Liz. It’s a pleasure to meet you, my name is Quinton, but everyone just calls me Q.” He says, extending his hand. I shook his hand and smiled. “It’s a
pleasure to meet you Q, what’s your specialty?” I asked.
“Criminal defense, I love getting my hands dirty.” He says and I chuckle. “Sound exciting. I am thinking of doing my bar exam. I graduated, but never took the bar. I chose business law
though,” I say and he nods. “Lots of money to made with these big corporations. Maybe I could g…” he says but doesn’t finish, because someone calls his name.
“Q, where are the Dixon files?” a woman asks, coming over. I look up and see it’s the woman that helped on my divorce case, Giselle something. “Hey Giselle, it’s in my desk, I will get it for you. I will be right back, Liz.” He says and walks into his office. He seems like a cool guy, but Giselle looks like she wants to murder me.
