I smiled as Ashton walked into the club. He couldn’t make it until this afternoon. Cia told us
he was spending time with his family first. She squealed and ran to him.
“Is that him?” My dad asked. He, my uncle, and I were playing pool and we stopped when the
door opened.
“Well, I hope so, or else she’s kissing some random,” my Uncle Beast said.
“Yeah, that’s him. I’m telling you dad, he’s a great guy.. He’s a hard worker. He rides. He isn’t
after her money, his family has their own. He even has a trust fund and could live off of it, but
he doesn’t. He hasn’t even touched it and he’s twenty–eight. He told me he’s had access to it
since he was twenty–one. He had a sister, who he claims is spoiled as h*Il, but she has a good heart. He has a little brother who just got access to his trust fund and Ashton says he’s spending it like it’ll never disappear. He’s tried to counsel him, but the brother doesn’t want to listen. Hopefully, he will before he loses it all.”
“His parents need to put some rules on him,” my dad said.
“They’ve tried, but the trust fund is from his grandfather, the only requirement was that he graduated from college. He’s due to graduate this summer. If he doesn’t, a lock gets put on
the trust, and he won’t get it again until he is thirty.”
My dad and uncle nodded. They watched as Cia latched on to Ashton, her legs around his waist and arms around his neck as she kissed the life out of him. He was trying his hardest to have manners and not paw Cia’s a*s, but she was making it hard on him. He finally got her to let him go. I liked seeing my sister so happy. She deserves as much as I did.
“Look at him, he really loves her. He’s got that dopey look on his face,” dad said.
“Yep, it’s the same dopey look we all get when we look at our women,” Uncle Beast said, just as Aunt Lia walked in holding Rayna and talking with Michelle.
I agreed with him, as I looked at Samantha as my aunt handed Rayna over to her. They stared at each other, Rayna brushed her fingers down Samantha’s cheek as she said ‘pitty so pitty.’ Samantha beamed at her and rubbed her nose with Rayna’s, making her squeal. I knew I had
that dopey look too. I couldn’t wait to see my own child in her arms.
“Here they come,” my dad mumbled.

“Daddy, I want you to meet my boyfriend, Ashton Barger. Ash, this is my dad, Hunter Krew, also
known as Rockstar here at the club. And this is my Uncle Cam, also known as Beast.
“Hello, sirs,” Ashton said, holding his hand out to them. They just stared at him menacingly. I was trying my d*mnedest to keep a straight face.
“Daddy! Uncle, stop,” Cia whined. She even stomped her foot, and I lost it then. My booming laughter echoed around the club, everyone looked over. I saw my mom shake her head,
smiling.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Uncle Beast said, taking Ashton’s hand. I knew he squeezed the sh*t
out of his hand and I gave it to Ashton for not flinching. I looked at Beast and his eyebrows
drew up in surprise.
“So you’re the one defiling my daughter,” dad said, as he grabbed Ashton’s hand.
“DAD!” Cia shouted.
“I defile her respectfully, of course,” Ashton said, with a straight face.
I lost it again, Cia giggled, Uncle Beast threw back his head and laughed.
Dad’s lips twitched, and he nodded.
“Mom, come save me, please,” Cia whined.
“Hunter, are you causing problems?” mom asked as she walked up to us.
“No, baby, I swear.”
“Mmhmm. Hello Ashton, I am Cia’s mother Tawny.”
“Hello, Mrs. Krew. It’s lovely to meet you,” he said, kissing her hand.
“Oh, Cia, I see why now.”
“Right,” my little sister said.
“I won’t punch you for kissing my wife’s hand, but let’s not make a habit of that.”
“And I recommend not doing that to anyone else’s wife,” Uncle Beast growled out.
“Understood,” Ashton said.
Cia went around introducing Ashton to everyone. All the Uncles tried to intimidate him, but all
Ashton did was smile and put on his charm. The dude had balls. When she introduced him to
Papa Roberto and Butcher, I was surprised to see them embrace him, and shake his hand like
they were old friends. What was that all about? Cia looked like she had just won the lottery.

“What the hell was that?” my dad asked.
“I don’t know. But I’m going to go find out.”
“Hey buddy, Papas, um I’m going to be blunt, what the hell?” I asked, pointing at Ashton.
“What?” Butcher asked.
“You just greeted him like you were old friends,” I said.
“Cia hasn’t told you?”
“Told me?”
My dad and Uncle Beast walked up when I asked that.
“When that sh*t went down with Samantha, Ashton saw it all. He saw Ice and Demon take
the body out. Cia told him what happened, and he told Cia that you all had nothing to worry
about because he was completely loyal to you.”
I looked at Ashton wide–eyed.
“Why didn’t you say something?”
“Because I figured it was club business. I may not be in the MC lifestyle, but I know all about
- it. I have an Uncle that’s a part of the Ranger’s Brotherhood. They’re an MC in Texas. I grew
up
around them, but we moved when I was a teen, or else I probably would be a different
person today.”
I grabbed him and slapped his back in a hug.
“Thank you, Ash.”
“Hey man, I’m a friend and Ally. If you ever need anything, I’m there.”
“Thank you,” my dad said, holding out his hand.
Ashton smiled and shook it.
“I have to take my soon–to–be father–in–law on a ride. You down for one?”
“Yes, I have my bike here. Baby, down for a ride?”
“Absolutely,” Cia said.
“Al! You ready for that ride?”
“You know it!”
“Sweet Girl, want to come?”

“Yes.” She gave Rayna to Lia and got up to walk out with me.
Cia and Ashton rode over to our parents‘ house. Al, Samantha, and I drove in one of the club’s
SUVS to the house.
I pulled out the Indian first and then brought out my bike.
“Dad, do you remember how to ride a bike?”
“Honey, I’ve never forgotten, it’s not something you would ever forget.” He got on the Indian,
and started it right up. He revved the bike and the smile on his face was so big.
I gave him a helmet and then put one on Samantha. I put my one and five minutes later we
were riding out of the compound and around the curved road to the highway. For thirty
minutes we rode. I loved having Samantha’s arms around me. I looked over at Al and he
looked like a kid in a candy store. Ashton flashed me a grin when I looked at him. Cia had her
head on Ashton’s back as she hugged her body to his. This was life. I’d never give it up. I may
have a lot on my plate with the many different roles I have in life, but I’d give up Star Media,
before I give up being a Lord.
We arrived back at the compound just in time. Dinner was almost ready. Al talked non–stop
about the ride to Georgia. She was so happy for him. My dad’s amusement was written all
over his face and he said next time he’ll go. Al was ecstatic that there would be a next time.
If he and Georgia moved here, there definitely would be.
I looked around at my family and Samantha and her parents. I loved this. I couldn’t wait for
Samantha and I to get married and have our own family. I wanted this for my future. When I
get back from this pickup, I’m going to talk to Uncle Bane, Uncle River and Shooter and see
about getting my house started. I already have a plot of land on the compound. It’s been a
mild winter, so hopefully we can break ground soon. But if we can’t, I’ll have to wait until
spring. Either way, I’ll have a house within the next year. I’ll also have to talk to Samantha and
see what she wants in our house. I just couldn’t wait.
