Chapter 24: Time To Announce The Winner

I am so excited about this interview and make over. I won’t let the fear of what Kyle might do ruin this moment for me. I freaking won the lottery! Not many people can say that. I will soon.

When we reach the lottery office, Zander parks in the bay they assigned us. A guy comes and puts down a freaking red carpet that runs from the car to the door. “Is this for me?” I ask
Zander and he chuckles. “Must be, you are the only star I see.” He says and I giggle.
Zander comes to open my door and bows dramatically and offers me his hand. I take his hand
and get out, and he leads me to the door. When I go in, everyone cheers and the whole place is
decked out with balloons and banners. I was not expecting this, but I am going to embrace it.
Felicia, the woman in charge, comes over with two glasses. “Morning Liz, mimosa?” she asks
and I chuckle and take one. “Morning Felicia, morning everyone. Wow, everything looks so wonderful. You guys are awesome.” I said and they all smiled and greeted me. Well, everyone.

The stylist I met yesterday came out of the back area. “Shoo! Everyone, be gone. My star is
here, and I need to go work my magic. You can talk to her later.”

and attitude, I had to giggle. “Morning beautiful, he says, giving me air kisses. “Morning

“Morning Liz’s hunky man,” he says and air kisses Zander. Zander greets him and plays along.
and I smile. He is such a sweetheart. “Come, Liz, let the magic begin.” Vance says, taking my
hand, and leading me to the back. It really does look like a movie star’s dressing room.
“I am going to leave you in the good hands of these ladies. They will be doing your nails and facial. I will come back when they are done. Don’t worry, I will keep your man occupied while
we wait.” He says and gives me a wink and I just chuckle. Zander kisses my cheek, before he
leaves the room with Vance.
The ladies get started, and I just sit back and enjoy. This feels so good. Maybe I should go for a massage when this is done. I also need a good waxing. I didn’t have one when I went to the spa, but I think I should. My lady parts need to look perfect when I have my way with Zander.
They even gave me a pedicure, which was so welcome. I haven’t been able to do most of my

The ladies leave the room and Vance comes back in. “Where is Zander?” Lask him “He can’t see you yet, he will just have to be patient. And he gave me some free legal advice while we were waiting. He is busy sorting something out for me,” Vance says, and i smile.

Whoo child, he gets me all hot and bothered) Vance says, fanning his face dramatically and I chuckle. “Well, you better cool down, because. he is all mine.” I say and he chuckles. “Yes, that he is. That man is so in love with you. You really are lucky.” He says and pinches my cheek.
He starts styling my hair while we chat away. I really like him, he has just the right amount of
sass and flare, and he is also very hilarious. He showed me pictures of his husband, and he
was very good–looking too. He refused to cut my hair, because he loved the length. So, he
curled my hair, and pinned it to the side.
He did my makeup, and I really liked it. He stuck to a natural look and didn’t overdo it. I am not
a fan of caking your face in makeup. “Now, for the outfit,” he says, and comes over with a
beautiful knee–length pale blue cocktail dress. He helps me into it, and adds my accessories.
“I am sure you can rock these heels,” he says as he helps me into the nude stiletto pumps.” There, you look perfect. Relatable, yet fashionable and sexy.” He says, and I nod and look in
the mirror. “I love it, you, my dear Vance, are a genius.” I say and he smiles and kisses my
cheek.
“You really are a doll, you know that? I hope you will stay in touch when this is all done. I
would love for you to meet Mark. Maybe we can have dinner some time?” he asks me and I
smile. “I would love that. I will definitely be in touch,” I said, and hugged him.
He leads me to another room, with us chatting all the way. This is where the interview will
take place. It will obviously be recorded, but I am okay with that. They will play a snippet of it on the news tonight. They gave me the questions beforehand, so I knew what to expect. I was
a little nervous, but as soon as Zander came walking in, I felt a lot calmer.
“Are vo
you ready?” he asks me. “As ready as I will ever be,” I say. “You look beautiful Liz, Vance
has done a great job. Your eyes are even more mesmerizing today,” he says and kisses my
forehead. “Thank you, Zander,” I say,

I hope that she sees this interview and contacts me. She was the silver lining to that cloudy day for me and I owe her so much. When the interview was done, the photo shoot started Some will go up on their website and some are for media outlets. I was so happy to see the giant cheque had my maiden name on it.
Zander has already helped me to change my name back to Elizabeth Ferley Sadly, Elizabeth Stanford died along with her marriage. But the new and improved Liz is ready to take on the world, with the man of her dreams by her side.

I still can’t believe Zander turned me down. I will have to work harder to get to him. Today I am up bright and early to see if I can get to him again. I need to make it seem like a coincidence
that we ran into each other.
Kyle is spiraling because the i***t lost his job. I keep telling him he can get a new one, but all he does is sulk and drink. He never told me what happened, and he never came back to the hotel last night. But I honestly don’t give a f**k. I don’t really need him anymore, he didn’t even really help me with my plan.

I knew he was already cheating before I came. So maybe he didn’t really love her anyway. Who cares, all I care about is getting back at little Miss perfect. Oh, and getting paid, of course. I have a lifestyle to maintain, and these hands were not meant to do manual labor.

normally leaves for the office early. But its already 7am and he still hasn’t left. I wish I could see into his property, but there is always a guard at the gate. It’s also built in a way that your can’t see anything from the road.
At exactly 7:20am, a car pulls out of the driveway. I hide my face when he drives past so he

can’t see me. I started the car and drove behind him I have watched enough movies to know
how to tail someone Luckily, there are enough cars on the road for me to be discrete. He isn’t driving to his office though. I know the route already.
He is going to a different side of town. Maybe he is meeting a client or something. I can see there is another person in the car, but the windows are so dark I can’t see who it is. I may have competition, but that makes it so much more fun. There was no mention of a girlfriend or wife
in any of the articles.
He pulls up to a building and I park in the road close by. I looked at the sign and frowned. What could he possibly be doing at the lottery offices? Maybe he is meeting a client. A man comes out of the office and lays a red carpet down for whoever is in the car and Zander gets out to open the door. My blood boils when I see who steps out.
That bh, Liz. What the f**k is she doing with him? They seem to know each other really well. I knew she was f*****g him. How else could she afford him? What is that b***h up to?! won’t let her ruin this for me. I will have Zander, even if I need to drug him to f**k him. Once he
has a taste of me, he won’t want that c**k tease, Liz.
I need to find out what they are doing in there. When they are inside, I wait another few minutes, before I approach the door. I see they are having some sort of party. Someone comes out to smoke and I approach her. “Morning, I see you are very festive in there. What’s the
occasion?” I asked her.
She looks me up and down with a sneer, but answers me. “Some b***h won our Christmas lottery. I don’t like her, and she looks like she doesn’t even need it. 10.9 billion dollars is a lot of money, and she already has that sexy rich lawyer at her side.” She says, taking a drag of her
cigarette. Is she talking about Liz?
