Chapter 10: Christmas with Zander
Liz
I tried to open my eyes, but the light was so bright. Why the f**k is the light on? I groaned and tried to open my eyes again. f**k, why does my head hurt? I closed my eyes tightly and tried again. What is wrong with me?
Then it all hits me like a ton of bricks. I sat up and opened my eyes, maybe a little too fast, because now I feel worse. “Morning sleepy head, I heard Zander say next to me and I looked at him. Oh, my f*****g God. “f**k,” I say and he chuckles.
“We actually never got to that part. But I am game if you are.” He says and puts his hands behind his head and stretches out. “I am so sorry Zander. I think I may have had too much to drink.” I say and he chuckles. “Maybe just a little,” he says, and I chuckle too, but stop immediately and grab my head.
“I am going to start limiting you to two glasses,” he says. “I am not much of a drinker. I know
we should probably talk about last night, but I really feel like s**t. Can I take a shower first?” | asked.
“Sure, but there really is nothing to talk about. If you hadn’t passed out, you would’ve probably been awoken with my d**k deep inside of you this morning. I wanted you and you wanted me. I have wanted you since I laid eyes on you, but I do think we should wait until your divorce is finalized.” He says simply, and I just look at him.
“Okay then, I am going to go grab that shower.” I said and got up. I am still in my nightie and panties, so I know he didn’t see me naked. I ran to the bathroom and closed the door. “Merry Christmas Liz,” he yelled. “Merry Christmas Zander,” I yelled through the door.

I hear him chuckle, and then I hear my bedroom door open and then close. I breathed out a sigh of relief. “Liz, what are you doing?” I asked myself as I looked in the mirror. My hair was a mess and I looked like I drooled in my sleep. I can’t believe he saw me like that. Did he sleep next to me? I am not sure, he was already dressed in sweatpants and a t–shirt.
*f**k, f**k, f**k,” I whisper. I feel like kicking my own ass. I am not ready for a relationship at all. I shouldn’t be leading him on like this, he deserves so much more. I think he might really like me. I wasn’t sure before, but I am now. I know I like him, but it’s way too soon, isn’t it?
I take a warm shower, and by the time I step out of the bathroom, I feel and look a little better.
I wear one of my dresses and some long boots, before I head downstairs in search of food. I

am starving and I desperately need some coffee. Definitely some painkillers too
I find Zander sitting at the table scrolling through his phone. “Feeling better?” he asks when he sees me. “Much better, thank you, I am starving, and I really need two painkillers.” I say and he nods. “Help yourself,” he says, and I take some bacon, eggs, mushrooms and sausage and
start eating immediately.
When did he even have time to make all this food? I feel like s**t, and he looks like he just stepped out of a magazine. That is so not fair. Maybe I drank more than he did. He pours me
coffee and then starts eating himself. Was he waiting for me? That is actually very sweet of
him. We eat in silence, and I occasionally glance his way. I can tell by the look on his face.
that he caught me looking.
When I had filled my tummy, I drank two painkillers, Zander helped me clean up. “Breakfast
was delicious, thank you.” I said. “It was my pleasure, I knew you would need a proper
breakfast. Did you check under the tree for your Christmas gifts?” he asks me. “You got me a
Christmas gift?” I ask in surprise.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” he asks. “Wow, and I didn’t get you anything. I don’t have any
money.” I say, and he chuckles. “You don’t need to get me anything. You are giving me a
beautiful Christmas lunch and your company. That is more than enough for me.” He says and
takes my hand and pulls me with him to the tree. Just like he said, there are two gifts for me
under the tree,
“Thank you, Zander, I didn’t expect anything,” I said. “It’s just Christmas gifts, Liz, and you can’t
say no. Nobody says no to a Christmas gift. It will be the crime of the century.” He says and I
giggle.
“Well, I don’t want to be a criminal, do I? Thank you, Zander, this really means a lot.” I say and
he smiles and nods. “Open your gifts,” he says, and I squeal and take the first one. It’s a small box, so I shake it and hear what sounds like keys. I open it, and it’s a bunch of keys with a key ring in the shape of a gingerbread house.
“Keys to my house. If you are going to be staying here, you will need your own set.” He says. and I chuckle. “Good idea, but hopefully I will be out of your hair soon.” I say, but he doesn’t. reply, and he has a look on his face I can’t decipher.
I took the next box and opened it and looked at him with wide eyes. “I can’t accept this Zander, it looks very expensive. You already bought me a beautiful set to wear with my revenge outfit. Are these real diamonds?” I ask and he nods.

“What did we say about saying no to Christmas gifts?” he says, and I roll my eyes and go back.

to looking at the jewelry he got me. It’s a diamond necklace with a beautiful blue stone in the shape of a teardrop, with matching earrings.

It really is gorgeous; but I would be too afraid to wear it. What if I get robbed? He comes and takes the necklace and puts it on for me. He touches my neck as he ties it and I feel pleasurable shivers run down my spine. When he takes his hand away, I look back at him.
“Thank you, Zander, it’s beautiful.” I say. “Not as beautiful as you, but it could come in at second place.” He says and I smile. “You really don’t need to try to make me feel good, your know.” I say and he chuckled. “I was being serious.” He says and I roll my eyes. “Let’s go finish the food.” I say to change the subject.
We go to the kitchen and finish off the food we prepped for Christmas lunch. We still haven’t spoken about what happened last night, and I am glad he didn’t bring it up. It was not one of my finest moments. “What do you want to do today? It is Christmas after all,” he says when
everything is done.
“I normally just stay home and watch holiday movies and stuff my face.” I say and he
chuckles. “That sounds like fun. I normally work and then have Christmas dinner alone. Rosa invites me to her house every year, but I never go. I don’t want to intrude on her family time.”
he says.
“She probably sees you as family, that’s why she invited you.” I say and he smiles. “Yeah, but I prefer to be busy,” he says. “Well, this year you aren’t going to work. We are going to watch silly Christmas movies and stuff our faces until we pass out. Then tomorrow we will do the same. Then, the next day, I go sign my way to freedom.” I say, and he chuckles.
At lunchtime, we got the table ready and laid out all the food. It really is too much for two
people, but we have tomorrow and the next day to eat it. We set up the perfect Christmas lunch together with all the bells and whistles. I can tell he enjoyed the food because of all the
moans coming out of him.
“Foodgasm?” I ask and he chuckles. “Hell yeah, everything is delicious.” He says with a mouth full of food and I have to chuckle. When we were done eating, we went to his home theatre to
start our cheesy holiday movie marathon.
We watched some holiday movies, and then we had the perfect Christmas dinner together too.
I think I will need to detox after Christmas. I am eating way too much meat. After dinner, we
sat in front of the fire and drank some wine. “I can’t wait to start my new life, free from that
man that shall not be named.” I said, and he chuckles.
“That reminds me, your new divorce agreement is ready,” he says. “Did you draft it yourself?” I

ask. “I did, one of my staff helped. I trust her and divorce is her specialty.” He says and I nod.” We can read through it tomorrow, before we start our second movie marathon.” He says and I
chuckle and nod.
We spent the rest of the evening watching more movies. I fell asleep, and when I woke up to
use the bathroom, I was in my bedroom. He must’ve carried me to bed again. This man is just
so perfect.
The next morning, I woke up a bit later. I showered and got dressed and headed downstairs to get breakfast ready. Not wanting to waste, I get some of the leftovers out for us to eat. I had just finished brewing the coffee when Zander came into the kitchen.
“Morning Zander, leftovers for breakfast?” I ask and he smiles. “Morning Liz, that sounds perfect,” he says. He gets himself some food and warms it, while I pour us coffee. “After breakfast, we can go through the new agreements. I drafted two,” he says.
“Why two?” I asked. “I know you said you only wanted the house, but he is scum Liz. He needs to pay for what he did to you. You can’t let him get away with this. I also found proof of another affair with a colleague and some woman that works in a bar. That’s why I was working so late the other night. We have enough to nail him and make him pay.” He says.
“That son of a b***h. Has he ever been faithful? I can’t believe I was so blinded by love.” I say now, not even hungry anymore. My whole marriage was a lie. How could I have been such a
fool?
“Hey, it’s going to be okay. Let’s go through both agreements and then you can decide. No pressure,” he says, and I nod and went back to eating. Well he was eating, while I just moved my food around on the plate. When we were done, he leads me to his office and takes
documents out of the printer and hands them to me.
