Chapter 0182
“Aylin, tell me!” Gamma Richard pressed.
“You can’t tell anyone. Please. Especially not Jake,” I begged.
“Alright. What is it?”
“We’re fated!”
“What?” The gamma’s eyes widened as his lips parted.
“You’re joking.”
I shook my head, muttering. “I wish I was.
He whistled in astounishment.
“Well, at least, his eyes are off Sara now, so we can safely rule out fraticide. That’s a good thing.” He scoffed.
I wish I could explain to him that his eyes weren’t quite off the Luna–to–be.
“We have an understanding, Rich. Me and him? We don’t want each other,” I said instead.
“So all of this should be over in about a month. But I need to see him. Please. Where’re you holding him?”
Ten minutes later, Gamma Richard had agreed to keep my secret. He also understood that it was temporary. Avery and I would be over by the next full moon.
We were supposed to stay away from each other till that time. I was doing just that by going out on a date. How dare he confuse me.
I stood at the door where he was being held now, telling myself that he probably wouldn’t want to see me. But I had to understand why he’d attacked my date.
“Two minutes,” Rich warned.
“The beta could arrive here any moment. If you’re serious about keeping this from him, you need to leave long before he gets here so he doesn’t scent you.”
He shook his head before adding, “Fate. What an interesting time it’s been. This past month had been one drama after another.”

He typed in the pin and opened the door for me to walk through.
Avery already scented me as much as I did him. As I entered the dimly lit room, I felt him suck in a deep breath. I could smell raw silver all around and traces of strangers. The place was some sort of a holding cell. It seemed he was not the first to be held here.
He refused to look at me. Was he embarrassed? A small part of me was all too eager to hear his excuse. I couldn’t help but hope-
“What are you doing here?” he asked calmly.
“Why did you attack him?” I returned.
“Who? Your boyfriend? You came here to ask me that?”
His anger right now had nothing to do with the fact that he was locked up. I could feel it. My presence bothered him.
I wanted to say that Kyle was not my boyfriend. Not yet. Though we’d known each other for a while, today was our first date.
Was there any point in explaining myself? Did I owe him an explanation?
“We were supposed to meet next full moon. What, you couldn’t wait?” he asked.
“Do you hear yourself, sergeant?” I asked him. “You sound jealous.”
I hated the unwanted tingle in my heart.
He gave a bitter laugh and lowered his head. Sitting back, he exhaled deeply like he was done talking. Goddess forbid that he would dignify my comment with a response, huh.
“We were supposed to meet next full moon to sever the mate bond. We never agreed not to date other people.”
His face hardened as he clenched his fist, then grimaced as bits of silver made contact with his skin.
He took a deep breath before replying,
“It’s goes without saying, princess. You are my…, I mean you are bound to me for the duration of that time. Do you see me getting cozy with another female?”
“No, I don’t see that because you can’t get cozy with the female you want. She is out of your reach!”
What right did he have to tell me not to see other males when he stated clearly that he didn’t

want me?
He pressed his lips together. The room was warmer than when I first entered. Beads of sweat appeared on his arm and forehead. It was hard to tell if the heat was from my anger or his.
“So you’ll return to him tonight then,” he said.
I could almost see the rage pouring out of him. I was so confused. How I hated him for making me feel this way.
“You will, won’t you?” he barked.
“It’s none of your business, sergeant! There’s nothing between us, remember? I came to make sure you understand that.”
I could hear his breathing. He was seething with fury.
“You’re right. It’s none of my business. You shouldn’t have come here, and since you asked, I’ll tell you why I attacked him.
Your Alpha is sleeping with my female. I was out looking for a fight when I saw you kissing that scum. A perfect excuse to let off steam, won’t you say? There. That’s why I attacked him.
Now that you know, you can go get on with your night, you loose, spoilt brat!”
I wanted to slap him but didn’t want to go close to him.
Jealousy was the cause of all of that rage in his eyes, alright. But it wasn’t for me. He was right. I shouldn’t have come here.
“I’ll remember what you just said when I’m called as a witness in your trial,” I said.
As I turned around to leave, he gritted,
“Next time I see that guy? I’m gonna kill him, and I’m gonna like it. And it’s going to be on you!”
