Two weeks later.
Sara POV
It was happening. My mating ceremony with Nickolas Reign. I would have thought this was a dream if not for the fluttering in my heart and stomach. Four days ago, I had feared that this day may never come, but thank Goddess, I had been wrong. My fears were unfounded.
I had accepted the fact that Nick was not perfect and he would never be. Hell, I wasn’t either. All that mattered was that he loved me. We would overcome any trials that arose in the future.
As I headed down the hallway to meet my dad, our last argument replayed in my mind.
“”How could you accuse me of thinking you stupid, Sara. That’s not fair. I live for you. I only want to keep you and our family safe. I’ve realize it was dumb, not telling you I was going to war with the Night Storm.
But it’s because I was sure we will not lose. And we didn’t. I mean here I am. Home safe. All
of our warriors are alive and safe. We triumphed.
It won’t happen again, I promise. In fact, include it in your list of rules, go on. The next time someone tries to harm our family, you’ll be among the first to know.”
I shook my head, telling myself to focus on what was before me. That fight was now in the past. Like all other issues we had, it didn’t matter now. My Alpha returned to me unscathed. And he would inform me of any such events from now on.
Lindsey and her partner walked ahead and behind me, respectively. I could sense the crowd inside the hall. All of the pack’s elite plus dignitaries from other packs were in there. They had all come to witness the mating ceremony.
Soft piano mingled with cheerful whispers sounded all around.
I was nervous as hell, but ready to become Nick’s official mate and Luna. Ready to pledge my life to him.
“You set?” my dad asked with a gentle smile. His eyes full of warmth and astounishment. I knew he still couldn’t believe this was happening too. I nodded, placing my hand within his
elbow as he started to lead me inside.
As we entered the large hall, the whispers lessened. Everyone turned to watch me. I kept my eyes on Nick who waited ahead with the two officials of the ceremony. When we drew closer, I realized his eyes were watery – full of so much love. My heart tugged.

Alex, my little one, stood in front of the beta. He grinned in appreciation. Which was expected. His mommy had never been this dressed up before.
“Mommy’s a princess,” he whispered to Jake.
“More like a queen,” Jake whispered back.
Nick reached out to take my hand from my father. His was warm and somewhat sweaty.
“People of the Forest Moon. Guests and well wishers, welcome,” Chief Alaric began.
“We’re gathered here this evening of a waxing crescent to witness the mating vows of Alpha Nickolas and his fated mate, Sara. Who gives the female to the Alpha?”
“I, Sebastian James, her father and guardian, gives her to the Alpha.” My father’s voice rang out with pride.
“Good. Now, the vows,” the chief said, gesturing for me to go first.
“Miss James.”
“I, Sara James, accept my fate and take you, Nickolas, as my Mate and Alpha. I surrender my heart to you and vow to be your peace, your solace and your joy. As Goddess wills it, from this day hence, till I join the stars. With this ring, I pledge my eternal love to you.”
He grinned as I slid the ring into his finger, then began with his vows.
“I, Alpha Nickolas Reign, accept my fate. I take you, Sara, as my Mate and Luna. I surrender all of my heart to you and vow to be your peace and confort, to be your joy and consolation. I will forever be your sanctuary and protector. As Goddess wills it, from this day hence, till I join the stars. With this ring, I pledge my eternal love to you.”
“Next,” the Chief continued with a warm smile.
“His Grace, High priest Uriel of the Alpha Council, will now bless this union.”
Stepping aside, the Chief made way for the long, grey haired male. Taking both our hands in his surprisingly soft ones, the older male bound them together with fig leaves that had been woven into a rope. Then he began his prayers.
“I bless this union with the blessings of the heavens. Let your hearts be true to each other. Let your bond grow stronger like the waxing moon. Let your home be filled with laughter, happiness, peace, and enduring love. Let your children walk in the right path, bringing pride. and honor to your home. Let the house of Reign and the bloodline of James endure forever. Let them wax strong after the order of a new moon. Goddess favors you in all your ways. And so it is.”

The crowd roared back, “So it is!”
“People of the Forest Moon. Guests and well–wishers. By the power of our Great Mother of all, Goddess of the sky, sea, earth and moon, I present our newest mated couple. Your Alpha and Luna. Nickolas and Sara Reign.”
A roar of clapping and howling followed. They all faded into the background as Nick pulled me into his arms for a deep kiss. I could vaguely hear the fireworks that were being set off outside. These things were like the most beautiful music as My Alpha held me tighter.
He released me soon, though not before dropping another light kiss on my forehead. Our fingers were intertwined as I looked upon the crowd.
The faces were mostly unknown to me. These were my people now. The well–wishers were friends of the Forest Moon, so they were my friends now. My life truly had changed. I would live among these ones as an important member of the pack. A new and rich life full of blessings with the love of my life awaited.
I felt deep gratitude for where life had brought me. I was home. And I was my Alpha’s beloved
mate.
