“Sara.” 

As the Alpha whispered my name, his voice was a plea that tugged at my heart strings. 

“S–so I’ll be your whore still. Only this time, everyone will know,” I babbled. 

“And they would all make sure I’m a good whore for the Alpha, especially your mother.” 

“What are you talking about?” Confusion creased his brow. 

“I can’t do it, Nick,” I went on. “I can’t live in Forest Moon, in your house, and be what your people expect me to be while they find for you a “suitable female.”

I hesitated, glancing around nervously for my dad. He had been eavesdropping, of course.

“I forgot my pen in the car, but that’s okay. You can take your time with this.”
