Chapter 0126
The Chief regarded me with terror as I laughed.
I had nearly killed that guy. My own blooded brother?
Only yesterday, I sat meditating on how to go about removing him from this world. How could the Luna do this?
I matched out of the Chief’s study and headed out. He kept calling after me through the
mindlink, begging me to
‘Leave things be.’ ‘Let the past stay gone,‘ he pleaded.
I immediately called the mansion. One of the servants answered.
“Where’s the Luna?”
“In her study, Alpha,” came the response.
My driver held the door open, but I signaled for him to take off. He would slow me down.
It took mere minutes for me to re–enter Reign’s premises. Jake joined me, walking quietly
beside me.
“Colt gave you something, didn’t he?” He asked in a calm voice.
I halted. “You knew?”
When he raised a questioning brow, I added,
“About Elise and the sergeant.”
He lowered his head and began speaking.
“Many years ago, I heard my mother thanking your father for being a loving and forgiving mate. Other things were said and the name Reese Hawke was mentioned. Then a few days ago, I learned that the Luna has been seeing Avery Hawke a lot. She followed him around, according to Richard’s sources. It couldn’t be all because of Sara James. I didn’t say anything to you because it was only a suspicion.”
I resumed walking. As we reached the doors, he slowed his strides.
“Nick, what happened yesterday was too odd. I can’t go in there if your female is still… like that,” he said.
I was going to ignore him but decided against it. I so needed the moral support.

“I took care of her,” I remarked. “Sara’s alright now.”
Moments later, we both took the stairs as he began signalling and whistling behind me for
the staffs to make themselves scarce.
Once we reached my mother’s study, he waited by the entrance, snapping his fingers at her
assistant and the guard.
The whole place grew silent before I proceeded through the door without knocking.
Luna Reign stood, eyes on the door as if waiting for me.
“I’m more than courteous to the girl. Her guard will confirm this, if she didn’t already. Now you have a prisoner in the underground. There’s no reason to keep him there. Release him. Where are the keys?”
“What prisoner? Ah, you mean Rowan?” I asked.
Her face went flat as dread flashed in her eyes.
“What did you say?”
“You heard me. His name is Rowan. Your little lost wolf.”
“He… who told you?” She asked calmly.
“Who told me what? That you’re a liar and a cheating mate? You taught me that these filthy traits are for commoners, but that was just another lie, no? Or what does that make you? A commoner? No. You’re a common whore!”
She threw her phone at my face and I ducked.
As she came around her desk, I was prepared for another episode of the Luna’s rage. Only this time, I would be on the other end of those claws and fists.
But she didn’t attack me further.
“What did you hear?” she seethed.
“Guess, mommy!”
She sucked in a deep breath as her eyes turned glassy. Her clumsy attempt to force back the tears failed. It trickled down one cheek like a thin drop of rain on the window pane,
“I made a mistake. But I will not stand here and be judged by you when your father forgave
me years ago.”

“Yeah, but he shouldn’t have. You’re a hypocri-”
She struck me hard across the face to shut me up.
“You do not get to judge me, you dishonorable pup! You think your daddy was innocent? He left me alone. He never loved me until you came along. No, no. He never loved me till I
CHEATED.”
“As I was saying, you’re a fucking hypocrite! A filthy tramp!” I barked.
She raised her fist again and I caught this time, swinging it away.
“You’re just like him,” she fired back. “No. Worse. Look what you did to that Sara girl huh. Left her pregnant. Your own. Gifted to you by Goddess. You threw her away just like your father left me too. He cheated again and again with those goddess–damn omegas and the human
trash!”
“First of all, you know nothing about me and Sara. Don’t you dare bring her into this. Second, you got revenge by bearing a man’s child?”
“It got his attention, didn’t it?” She replied smugly, sniffing as she did.
“I became his beloved Luna till he went to stars. How about that, you spoilt pup?”
I wanted to strike her but all I could do was clench my fist. And for a moment, fear flashed in her eyes at the look on my face.
“I’m sorry. Nick, baby. I didn’t mean to say that. But you have no right to judge what you know nothing about. You have no idea how much he hurt me before you came along-”
Without thinking, I lifted the glass table and hurled it her desk to shut her up.
When I pointed a warning finger at her, it looked like she would cower. But she stood rigid and
tensed.
I started to speak again.
“You’re a horrible creature. I could’ve killed the male, you know that? I was making plans. And you were going to help him take my mate? What, the bastard half–blood is whom Sara deserves?”
“All of that has changed, Nick. Sara is yours. I already made it clear to Rowan. I couldn’t find the right time to tell you that he’s your brother. There’s so much going on with… the little one and the girl. You’re being a little harsh.
Do you have any idea what I lost? I sacrificed him for my family. He was a five–month–old

pup… a–and I had to leave him behind.”
The tears pouring down her cheeks didn’t make her any less appalling to me at that instant.
“Goddess, I can’t look at you,” I said, turning away.
When I reached the door, I stopped.
“You know what, this doesn’t change anything. If your bastard son come near my female, I will do to him what my father did to his.”
I stole a glance at her face and noted that her expression did not change.
“Wow, so you’ve always known that his daddy’s blood is on your hands, huh? Just know this. His fate would be far worse than the cockroach he called father if he still attempts to keep Sara and I apart!”
I opened the door and walked out. Jake was waiting with his head bowed.
We made our way out of that wing of the house in silence.
“Little Alex knew him,” I mumbled. “How about that.”
My beta didn’t respond. I needed to catch my breath and calm my emotions before going to Sara.
slowed my strides to do just that when her call drifted into my mind.
Nick, I know you’re in the building.‘
‘m coming to you,‘ I replied.
