ISABELLA’S POV
“Rogues have been attacking various packs. They’re targeting healers in their search for those carrying Urduva’s bloodline. We also suspect that this was the reason from the rogue attack in our pack a few days ago.”
A shiver ran down my spine hearing Raymond’s words. I clenched my fists, feeling the anxiousness growing inside of me. We were carrying the bloodline of Urduvas, and this issue only means that were in a great danger right now.
“What do we do now?”
Raymond sighed, staring at me with a hard look on his face. “Don’t worry, our identities are still a secret. But we should take necessary precautions, especially you’re also one of the
known healers in our pack.”
He’s right. While I was known as one of the pack healers, only a few people know about our true heritage as descendants of Urduvas.
“There are only less than 1% of the entire werewolf population with this bloodline. As long as we keep our identities hidden, we should be safe. I promise to do everything in my power to protect you and the kids. The werewolf council had also devised a plan to address it.”
“You shouldn’t worry too much. With all other packs working together, this problem should be
solved soon. I only wanted to inform you about it.”
Despite his reassuring words, I couldn’t help but still feel worried, especially for my twins. Even though Liam and Lily were still young and had not yet fully developed their healing abilities,
my anxiety over their safety was overwhelming.
There were dangers lurking around the corner. And I know I had to do everything in my power
to protect them at all costs.
After the talk with Raymond, I hurried back to the room where Liam and Lily were staying. It
was already late at night, and they were sleeping earlier when I checked on them. However, I
was desperate to go back and check on them again, especially after the news Raymond had
brought.
But then, I saw Liam standing outside the room, looking as if he just woke up from his sleep
as he groggily walked towards me.
“Mom…”

I rushed to his side, my heart pounding heavily as I pulled him towards me. “What’s wrong?
Why are you out here?”
“Lily wasn’t in the room when I woke up. I thought she was with you, mom. So, I came out to find you both.”
I froze in place but then immediately jolted as panic rushed through me.
“What do you mean? You were sleeping together earlier, right?”
Liam looked up at me, his innocent face also showing worry and confusion this time. “I woke
up and didn’t find her beside me.”
I rushed inside the room with him and realized that Lily wasn’t indeed around.
‘Ray, I need you here. Lily is missing!‘
Raymond immediately arrived just a minute after with Hailey, both looking worried as they
asked me what happened.
“Liam said she was not present in the room when he woke up.” I said in a tone full of dread
before turning to Liam.
“Darling, stay here and we’ll find your sister, okay?”
“I’ll go with you.”
We immediately parted ways and searched on different parts of the packhouse. With each
second passing by, the worry and dread in my heart only continued to grow.
Then suddenly, I felt a tug in my chest. A sense of warmth seemed to rush through my nerves
and Lily’s presence became more vivid to me.
Without thinking further, I followed the pull that seems to tug me towards a specific location. Seconds later, I found myself at the pack’s playground.
And there I finally saw Lily…
with Xavier on her side.
“Mommy!”
I immediately rushed to her side, ignoring the looks Xavier was giving me as I almost burst
out with all the emotions I was feeling.
“Why did you go out on during such a late hour?” I couldn’t help my tone getting a little bit
hard as I crouched down to meet her level.
“Didn’t mommy tell you to stay in the room?”

She immediately showed a guilty look on her face, which only made my heart clench even
more painfully.

“I’m sorry, mommy… I was dreaming of fireflies, and then I woke up and saw that the fireflies from dream were also present in the room. And when they got out, I followed them.”
Fireflies… I find the idea absurd. But looking at my daughter’s innocent and guilty face, I
couldn’t blame her, only feeling the raging emotions inside my chest.
“I was just about to send her back.” Xavier’s voice rang behind me, making me freeze for a
moment.
How could there be such a coincidence in the world? Why does everything I was trying to hard
to avoid always happens against my wishes? I didn’t turn to look at him and only faced Lily
who was now flashing a sweet smile to Xavier.
“Uncle, this is my mommy.” I hastily turned to face Xavier, not wanting to look at his face. But I
saw him nod and hum in reply at Lily’s words.
“Mommy, I saw that uncle had a lot of wounds. And I helped him heal it!”
My breath hitched in my throat when I heard her say those words, feeling as if the world was
crumbling down beneath my feet. I couldn’t believe my ears for a moment. I knew that Lily
could heal small wounds and such, but she hadn’t fully unleashed her healing abilities. How
could she treat Xavier’s wounds and eventually expose her abilities in front of him?
My heart felt cold. I threw Xavier a glance and noticed that he didn’t look like in a sorry state
unlike earlier after the fight. I swallowed hard, realizing Lily must’ve indeed helped him treat
those wounds.
His dark eyes were looking straight at us, but I immediately removed my gaze away from him.
and turned back to Lily.
“Alright, you did a great job.” I forced a smile to Lily and held her hand. “It’s late, let’s go back
now, sweetheart.”
“Wait, mommy…”
Just as I was about to pull her away, she tugged at my arm. “I haven’t said goodbye to uncle
yet.”
My heart clenched painfully upon hearing her words. I watched her turn to Xavier again, the
enthusiasm on her face never fading as she stared up at him.
“Goodnight, uncle! I’ll go back with mommy now.”
I accidentally met my eyes with Xavier, and for a moment, I saw something gentle flash in his

eyes as he stared at Lily. Then, I noticed that there seemed to be something different about him tonight. But all these only made my body feel numb, seeing him in such a close proximity
and interacting with Lily… our very own daughter.
He took a few steps closer towards us, making my heart pound heavy with anxiousness. But then, he suddenly spoke in a slow and somewhat hesitant tone directed towards me.
“Can I hold her?”
